Aight here goes my review for Promo Only Dance Radio October 2007. I said I was gonna do it on my boy Jeff Gumbs’s birthday, 9.27.2007, but I’m doing it today ‘cause I can’t wait any longer to listen to it! It’s my dad’s birthday today (lol @ tha birthdays), so I’m doing it, and in honor of Jeff Gumbs’s birthday, I’m gonna start tha CD at 9:27 PM, so here I go: Start Time: 9:27 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Topmodelz “Your Love (Radio Edit)”

Waiting to hear it, so I got a High AL… :arrow: Yeah I had a feeling it would be a remake. I’m waiting to hear all tha beats… I think they’re coming around tha :50 mark. Yeah feelin’ tha beats, and tha vocals are tha same as tha old version. Yeah this would’ve been better if those bangin’ beats were way over tha original beat… My Rating: 3.9

02. Jennifer Lopez “Hold It, Don’t Drop It (Moto Blanco Radio Remix)”

Heard tha intro on MCD, and it sounds good! J :arrow: Yeah LOVIN’ that chorus!! :D Yeah I can’t hold anything in when it comes to letting my feelings out. Gotta express it! Great MB music wit J to tha L.O (J. Lo). :tu My Rating: 4.4

03. Martijn Ten Velden Feat. Luciana “I Wish U Would (Radio Edit)”

At first I didn’t have a High AL, but now I do, especially since Luciana iz tha vocalist (yeah, remember that “Yeah Yeah” song by Bodyrox & Luciana from PODR1/07 that I hated at first? Well I wound up lovin’ that song). MCE added this, Robbins signed it, so I wanna finally hear it!! :arrow: Yeah I knew that beginning was gonna sound a lil’ weird… But I’m looking forward to hear more! :!: I like tha chorus, although this iz kinda cheesy for me… I’ll prolly play it a bunch of times to see if it grows during college. My Rating: 3.8

04. Out Of Office Feat. Marcella Woods “Hands Up (Radio Edit)”

MCD loves this song! If it’s one trend that doesn’t get old for me, it’s tha “hands” songs. Yeah this song iz gonna be real big… I mean, it’s big already wit MCD, but yeah. Nice vocals wit that cool music. 8) My Rating: 4.0

05. Just Jack “Starz In Their Eyes (Trophy Twins Aftershow Remix Edit)”

If I can remember, original sounded like an Alternative Rap song. I gave it I think a 69% on my Pump It Or Dump It. Tha Ashley Beetle Remix I gave either a 29 or 39% on my PorD, so let’s see what this remix does… :arrow: Intro sounding pretty cool/weird. Tha actual chorus in tha original version where it would say “now why you’d wanna put starz in their eyes (repeats)” sounded better. This iz kinda boring, lol, but w/e. It’s better than that remix I d/l’ed. My Rating: 3.5

06. Tiffany “Higher (Josh Harris Radio Mix)”

“High” AL, and looking forward! :arrow: I think tha music iz pretty cool, although I’m gonna need to work on those vocals… And tha chorus izn’t that bad. We’ll see how this does wit me in tha future. It’s gonna need some growth… My Rating: 3.8

07. Michael Gray Feat. Steve Edwards “Somewhere Beyond (Radio Edit)”

More of a Summer anthem than a Fall anthem. I have “somewhat” an extended Radio Edit @ 3:35, which I like my extentions. Either way, this has always been a decent track, especially when it would always come on Party 105. My Rating: 4.0

08. Plumb “In My Arms (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit)”

Shit this song did tha OPPOSITE of what it did to me last Monday. L Last Monday, right when tha intro was about to come on my iPod, I saw my boy Jeff Gumbs, and I was happy. Today, while I’m playing it, I see my boy Jeff Gumbs for ONE SECOND, and he vanished! L But yeah, DEFINITELY feelin’ it now!! :D :D :!: Gotta LOVE tha intro!!! And ya gotta LOVE tha chorus!!! :!: Also, great lyrics and vocals (of course)! :tu My Rating: 4.6 – Gotta give Jeff Gumbs props for boosting tha rating :tu

09. Britney Spears “Gimme More (Radio Edit)”

Did they keep tha “it’s Britney bitch” part in tha beginning? :arrow: Shit they just took it out, lol. I expected a lil’ better comeback from Britney, but I like listening to this here and there… I just think tha ending (tha last 2 minutes) iz too repetitive, and that beat iz okay. Could be slightly better, but it’s aight. My Rating: 3.9

10. Public Enemy vs. Benny Benassi “Bring The Noise (Remix Pump-kin Radio Edit)”

:rofl, and :rofl @ “Pump-kin” for Halloween, lol. Let’s see if this iz better than FC’s. :arrow: Tha intro iz reminding me of tha Nelly Furtado “Maneater (Richard Vission Remix)” easily, lol. :rofl Chorus iz better in Ferry’s, but tha beat iz better in this for coolness. Tha beat iz good for tha more party sound for Ferry’s. Tha raps sound better in this mix tho. My Rating: 3.8

Halftime: So far aight. Not too many new bangers for me… Hopefully tha remaining 11 songs do somethin’… I know Plumb can’t be my #1 ‘cause there’s always that song that I don’t know that comes outta nowhere…

11. Deborah Cox “Everybody Dance (Tony Moran Radio Edit)”

Hopefully this has somethin’ surprising in it… High AL. :arrow: Yeah cool intro, so props. Pretty good on tha chorus, and I’m liking tha verse along wit that TM music that never gets old. :tu I think those background vocals are cheesy, but overall, this iz bangin’. :tu My Rating: 4.4

12. Undercover Divas Feat. Sam “Big Area (Radio Edit)”

Love tha title, and this iz one of those songs where I have a REAL High AL for. It’s signed to Robbins (really clueless of what it would sound like), nice title (it reminds me of being in a laybrinth, and I’m dying to hear it! :arrow: Feelin’ tha intro! :tu Nice long music interlude! :tu Tha vocals get a BIG “A” for me. :tu My Rating: 4.7 – I guess this paid off since I waited about 5 minutes to play it. :tu

13. KLM Music Feat. Coco Star “I Need A Miracle (2007) (Mike Polo Radio Edit)”

Let’s see this “predicted” remake… :arrow: I thought this was gonna be one of those old rock songs, but no it’s tha Fragma song… lol. :tu I’m liking this for a dance vs. dance. This iz nice right here. :tu My Rating: 3.9

14. Mika “Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) (Radio Edit)”

Oh shit! I smell a piece of shit on tha road! Shit… that’s bad. Anyway, I will DISS this FUCKIN’ song before I even listen to it… Bring out tha dead!!! :arrow: Even tho I would prolly never have interest in playing, this iz decent I would say. Too Alternative for this CD. It should go to tha Mainstream Radio CD where those 116 BPM Pop songs are REALLY at! More cheesy background vocals… My Rating: 2.7

15. Roger Sanchez “Not Enough (S-Man Radio Edit)”

Let’s see… :arrow: I guess you can say this iz a nice slow jammer. :tu I don’t have much to say about this one. Vocals are decent/pretty good. Something’s missing from this song from being better…  EDIT: Shit I forgot to rate it, lol. My Rating: 3.8

16. The Pezz Feat. Hayley “Hard (Radio Edit)”

Let’s see what’s dirty about this Trackworks song. High AL. :arrow: Lol @ those cheesy, dirty lyrics in tha beginning. Music sounds pretty damn cool. :tu Glad to see somethin’ dirty along tha line for a dance song here and there. This song makes me laugh wit all those vocals. :rofl I like how tha beat keeps goin’ at tha end. :tu My Rating: 4.2

17. Justice “D.A.N.C.E. (Radio Edit)”

*Leaves tha computer* :rofl I guess I finally got a high quality version. My Rating: 3.4

18. Rachel Panay “It’s Got To Be Love (Lenny B Radio Mix)”

High AL. Hope she sounds good on this. :arrow: Pretty good so far… Likin’ tha combination of music & vocals on this. :tu Tha ending sounded a lil’ too repetitive tho… My Rating: 3.8

19. Jeckyll & Hyde “Freefall (Radio Edit)”

Another great title, and I wanna re-hear this… :arrow: Yeah I should say that I really like tha beats to this. :tu Shit this iz a jam right here!! Just love all tha elements in it (like I said before). I love that chorus part! It’s bangin’!! :tu :tu My Rating: 4.5

20. Aubrey “Angel (ANR Radio Edit)”

Here’s my Highest AL for this CD (came close wit “Big Area”). Tha moment I’ve been waiting for… :arrow: Really like that smooth intro. :tu It sounds like a remake, but I can’t think of what it could be (EDIT: Years later, I realized it was a Madonna song). Real nice fast beat. Sounding great. :tu :tu And sounding better towards tha end! I’m gonna have to vote this slightly higher than “Freefall”. Oh real nice ending! :tu :clap: My Rating: 4.6

21. Power 2 Move Feat. Amber Dirks “All Through The Night (Radio Mix)”

Last one better be a good one since it’s Amathus + 129 BPMer. High AL again! :arrow: Nice odd start wit tha music. :tu Cheesy vocals, but nice odd music. What an odd way to end tha CD. It should’ve ended wit either Aubrey or “Freefall”. My Rating: 3.8

Overall: End Time: 11:29 PM. Not bad for a CD… I give it a +.
