Review #113: Promo Only: Dance Radio September 2008

I’m back and even though this CD has been shipped real late, it’s here!!! :) And I feel so bad delaying it an extra day. That’s ‘cause I had college ‘til 10:00 PM yesterday and I was tired/I wanted to do this during tha late afternoon. But now I’m here (got off at 4:00 PM) and ready for this! I feel real anticipated for it!! Here goes tha long awaited review for Promo Only Dance Radio September 2008!! Start Time: 5:55 PM | Video Game Playing: Blast Corps (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. Laurent Wolf Feat. Eric Carter “No Stress (Radio Edit)”

At first I thought it was a girl (‘cause of tha “Lauren” in tha name) but no, it’s a producer (Laurent Wolf) featuring (which PO left out) a guy (Eric Carter). I would’ve liked tha song better if it was a girl but it’s just okay. Tha only thing great about this song iz tha great lyrics and somewhat good music. Due to tha topic of tha song, I think it’s gonna be a REAL BIG song in tha dance world! My Current Rating: 3.7

02. Cascada “Faded (Wideboys Electro Radio Edit)”

Oh no a PO fuck up mix. :( Really, NOBODY should remix Cascada UNLESS you can remix their songs FAST. I don’t like any of this watered-down Cascadaness. Cascada = fast & tight to me. I like tha Wideboys a lot but this mix ain’t nothin’. Tha original iz a lot better. Tha only thing I go for iz tha “fit me in a perfect box” parts that come on a lot. Glad tha original went pop and too bad MCD started it wit this f’d up mix. :td My Current Rating: Album Version: 4.4 | This Mix: 3.2

03. LoveShy “Gotta Love For You (Radio Edit)”

Tha 1^st newbie for me and I’m excited and anticipated… Gots AL on this and whether or not it’s a cover to tha ‘90s song, I’m gonna try and feel this, especially since it’s from Next Plateau! >>> It iz a cover and sounds great. Tha girls on this sound nice and hot and that music iz bangin’! Great way to cover a song (or should I say “dance vs. dance” one). My Rating: 4.4

04. BenDJ Feat. Sushy “Me & Myself (Wolfgang Gartner Remix Edit)”

Wonder what this’ll be like… >>> I like that beat so that’s a plus. It had a great intro. Tha vocals are pretty good so far. I like tha words about tha “jungle.” This doesn’t sound like anything out right now so you know what it gets from me… a PLUS. :tu Surprised it’s No. 4 on this CD ‘cause tha more “mainstream sounding” songs come first. My Rating: 4.2

05. Buzz Junkies Feat. Elesha Moses “If You Love Me (Thomas Gold Radio Edit)”

Heard it on MCD and before I looked at tha ID, I thought it was Amanda Wilson singin’. Saw on Perfect Beat that it’s a remake and I think it’s good. >>> I’m glad I have my stereo loud right now ‘cause it makes tha review better. Tha vocals are great and tha chorus iz tight, along wit that beat! My Rating: 3.9

06. Tami Chynn Feat. Akon “Frozen (Ralphi Rosario Radio Edit)”

Heard it on MCD also but iPR got it a month earlier. >>> This sounds like it has a slightly different intro than MCD. It’s still hot though. Compared to that one song she had in 2006 that was over tha Sean Paul “We Be Burnin’” beat, this sounds a lot hotter and better! She even looks good too. :) And I can’t agree wit that title right now ‘cause it was 96 degrees out today!! MCD doesn’t have that Akon part on tha bridge. Go PO and BOO to MCD! I like when Akon says tha “got you on ice” parts during tha chorus. Real bangin’ music in this! My Rating: 4.0

07. Natasha Bedingfield “Angel (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)”

Even though it’s MB and their same beats, at least this iz long and faster (129 iz fast for them, lol). Glad they got a remix for this song so fast. I like those “A-N-G-E-L”s after tha chorus. Really feelin’ this remix a lot! My Rating: 4.0

08. Fawni “Chasing Cars (LTMP Edit)”

I’m really glad they chose this mix (that MCD plays a lot) over tha original (which iz slow at 127 BPM). MCD really loves this song as when they first got it, it was on AT LEAST 5 times that day!! And she’s a hottie! :) Gotta feel tha music when tha chorus comes in and somethin’ about it that it’s just great! Glad MCD just got that through their brain. :tu My Current Rating: 4.3

09. Jo De La Rosa “U Can’t Control Me (Jason Nevins Funkrok Radio Mix)”

Hopefully tha consistentness doesn’t stop… This song only has 90 BPM… *GULP* Not really havin’ tha AL for it even though tha AL points came up to 19 when I did tha preview… Statistics don’t prove it all tha time… >>> It’s a girl… Wow how unexpected… That rockness in tha beat iz odd too. It’s good for a pop song too. Wonder how it’ll do in tha mainstream/dance scene? I like it. Great vocals (she must be hot)! My Rating: 4.0

10. Jamie Jo “U Turn Me On (Maurice Joshua Nu Soul Radio Edit)”

Hope this iz a girl too but tha mix loses my AL ‘cause I don’t really like tha “nu soul” mixes/I think they’re just decent. Let’s see… >>> Yeah tha beat iz too plain/soulish but it gives me a feel to give it a chance. Tha vocals are pretty good and tha chorus iz not bad. I’ll give credit to this song/mix. My Rating: 3.8

½time: It’s a very good start so far. I expect there to be just as good at tha end!!

11. Flanders “Behind (Callea Radio Mix)”

Oh I forgot this was coming up!!! Lots of AL for this song!! Hope it’s as good as “By My Side”!! >>> I love tha beginning so far wit that slow intro/slow verse and now I hear tha beat towards tha 1:00 mark. Pretty hot so far! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ what’s next! I’m now LOVIN’ that slow part again!! This iz a start to tha 2^nd ½ right here!! Hope it does get tha recognition as “By My Side” did! Two different songs and this one iz just too good! :) My Rating: 4.7

12. Kreesha Turner “Don’t Call Me Baby (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit)”

It’s signed to Capitol Music Group, tha same label as Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue and some pop artists. Took a quick listen on YT and it sounds like tha original had some BPM/sounded dance. This could be more of a comeback for Dance music in tha mainstream maybe (look @ Katy Perry’s new song, “Hot N Cold”. Nice 132 BPM song)! And no, it’s not a cover up to Madison Avenue so we’ll see what tha Bimbo dudes did to this! >>> Glad it’s got a REAL NICE beat in tha beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!! I’m feelin’ it and it’s a pretty cool song so thumbs up. Nice hook too and (of course) that beat! I don’t even have to need to rehear tha original now that I know that this iz REAL HOT!! My Rating: 4.6

13. Lindsay Lohan “Bossy (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Radio Mix)”

A lil’ oldie… Had tha original in May (exclusively). MCH was all over tha original and now it’s gone. Nobody plays… I guess it’s now time for it to go into tha dance world wit this remix. Liked tha original a lot so hopefully a great remix! >>> Great intro (didn’t quite sound like him at first). Great comeback for Lindsay too (too bad it didn’t get too much exposure in tha pop world as MCH only had). Oh yeah and Ne-Yo did a good job writing this song. Great remix again! Wow tha 2^nd ½ of this CD ain’t bullshittin’ right now!! Great shit! My Rating: 4.3

14. Alex Gaudino Feat. Shena “Watch Out (Radio Edit)”

I know this an oldie in tha UK but now in tha US, Ultra has this so we’ll see what happens… Been dying to hear it and tha 2 of them should do REAL GOOD on this song!! High AL!! >>> Really likin’ tha beginning and that sample (whatever it iz; “Feel Better” used tha same one)! :tu Yeah I KNEW she was “guilty” of makin’ ANOTHER HOT SONG!!! Really love tha music and those “WATCH OUT!!!”s! :tu :tu Late or not, fuck it! It’s tight!! My Rating: 4.8

15. Mark Brown Feat. Sarah Cracknell “The Journey Continues (Vocal Radio Edit)”

REAL GLAD they put this on here… But what’s tha label? This CD lists it as “Promo Only” on their site (LOL). MCD and MCE got different mixes but this original version iz tha real deal! Remember that HUGE “Lightning Strikes Twice” song by Saint Etienne I loved and played to death 2 years ago? Well, Sarah Cracknell iz tha lead singer of Saint Etienne so I had to have AL when I first heard it and it’s hot! *Listens while writes* Great vocals, music and that NICE chorus wit tha “rain came down” parts. Really feelin’ it (even though tha title doesn’t appear in tha song). Really feelin’ that title though! Hopefully people get on this original version (like iPR or someone else) ‘cause it’s what matters here! Nice ending too to end a song! My Current Rating: 4.4

16. Paradise “See The Light (Radio Edit)”

Got my bets on this song right here!!! HUGE 141 BPM (and Thrive/ThriveDance on tha signing so that’s different for them) and I got tha AL points for this!! It had tha same as tha AL I had for “Goodnight Tonight” by DJ Scotty K & Knockhopper (20 AL points) so that’s REAL BIG right there!! EXTREME amount of AL for this one! Don’t care if it’s remake or not!!! >>> Sounds like Celine Dion in tha beginning. What will happen? I hear a lil’ Cascada music here!! That chorus iz REAL good and tha part after that was REAL TIGHT!! Wow this iz on some HOT SHIT!!! My Rating: 4.8

17. Saving Jane “Supergirl (Too Kool Chris Hands Up Radio Edit)”

Shouldn’t that be “too” in tha mix name (‘cause too = a lot)? But this’ll prolly be better than Jason Nevins’s mix (which was just okay). Hope it’s a HOT 140 BPM mix and not a garbage one!! >>> Ooh cool a weird beat intro so far… What’s gonna happen? I like this, but it ain’t close to that “See The Light” song that just was on here. I don’t think any dance stations are gonna play this. I think MCH gon get this. Cool mix. My Rating: 4.2

18. Jerry Ropero Feat. Cozi “The Storm (Inpetto Remix Edit)”

*Starts singin’ and thinks of MCD* “I need a miracle, I need a miracle… And you’re hearin’ what I say…” My God, they fuckin’ loved that Fragma 2008 remix. *Sigh* More old shit… *Waits to hear Georgie Porgie’s song FINALLY* Had this remix in June (so did iPR) but mines was only 134 BPM and this iz 139 BPM. They couldn’t throw her new song, “Hot N Cold”, on here (they had to do an “oldie”)? There’s a commercial on MTV Hits promoting a “Totally Dance 2008” CD featuring a lot of Rap/R&B/Pop songs that are upbeat and then tha 1^st song that comes on iz this remix so that’s a good look. Anyway, I fuckin’ loved this song so much and my 4 year old brother Dylan started singin’ it (1^st song he eva sung) so lemme hear where these extra 5 BPMs are coming from… >>> LOL @ tha music. It sounds like MCE music and it’s different… This izn’t tha same mix I had… My mix was better (and it was from Jason Nevins too, lol; his “Rock The Club” mix). It sounds good though. MCE should get it ‘cause it sounds like one of their 2003 rare songs. They don’t really get a pop artist’s remix anyway so this’ll prolly be somethin’ no one iz gonna play. My Rating: 4.3

ANOTHER oldie?? LOL!! This CD iz mixed wit REAL HOT shit along wit OLDIES!! I had this in April ‘cause Party 105 was IC’ing it as a PICK. I played it ONLY in May and now all of a sudden, Party 105 put it on their playlist. Originally on Eric Prydz’s Pryda label and now on Ultra. And PO left out tha “Presents Pryda” part ‘cause that’s what I saw when I found this song. Anyway, good electronic trance wit a “pjanoo” (lol). Tha RE I have was 40 seconds longer around so we’ll see what happened wit this RE. >>> Tha intro I had started wit tha “pjanoo” and this one had a different start but still was good. This RE sounds great, especially since all tha music kicks in ‘cause wit tha one I had, it took like a minute and 15 seconds. Sounds a lot better than tha RE I had. Good job Ultra for signin’ and for this song havin’ some life now! My Rating: 4.3

21. Georgie Porgie “Can You Feel That Sound (Josh Harris’ Radio Mix)”

Finally up to this song!! After they collaborated on “I Believe”, I know I wanna hear a new Georgie Porgie song, especially since JH iz remixin’ it again! Very high AL!! >>> YES GOOD SHIT RIGHT HERE!!! Great way to end tha CD!! At least GP ain’t afraid to sing tha song (and not have a DJ featuring him). Tha beat iz real hot and tha chorus iz tight too! I actually like this a lot better than “I Believe” and I’m glad JH was tha one that was special enough to remix this! Great shit!! My Rating: 4.6

Overall: End Time: 7:52 PM. WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE CD!!! WOW that whole 2^nd ½ was ALL SONGS I loevd wit at least a 4.0 rating or higher!!!!!!! Only 1 bullshit song on this CD (tha “Faded” remix; they should’ve had tha original on here)!! I think this was statistically tha highest rated CD (especially on averge) I’ve had on PO CDs so far! I knew this was gonna be a classic and just delaying it made it better!! Last year’s September CD was REAL HOT and this iz just as HOT, only more mainstreamish but still REAL HOT!!
