This
ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog here, wit a headache (which iz usually luckily for PO). I’m REALLY anticipated for this issue of PO for May 2009 ‘cause I feel that we FINALLY are on
track wit tha songs here since Nu$$ie died! Now, lemme get this outta tha way
‘cause I’ve been at college for 11 dayz IN A ROW (which includes me goin’ on
tha dayz I’m off). Tomorrow will be my 12th (last day, which will
set a record for most dayz at college consistently). Also tomorrow, I start my
“Louisiana Reviewz Marathon”, where I’m reviewin’ ova 600 CDs (from tha past to
tha present) all from Louisiana!
Now, here goes my review for Promo Only
Dance Radio May 2009!! Start Time:
5:36 PM | End Time: 8:13 PM | Video Game Playing: Donkey Kong Country
3 (for Super Nintendo)
1.
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha
4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already.
If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered
“mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0
rating.
To tha artist/producer: Don’t get catchy feelin’s
if I don’t like a song on a first listen. Things could change in tha future as
I could love it, so you neva know!
2.
Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to
tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song
while I’m listening to it.

David Guetta Feat. Kelly Rowland “When Love Takes Over (New Pop Radio Edit)”
iPR
called it a “world premiere” on April 20, but I saw it (according to one of my
sources) considered like 2 weeks before. MCD just got it, and it sounded REAL
good! Formerly of Destiny’s Child, let’s see how tha 2 of these collab on tha
review! >>> I feel that, just like wit “Delirious”, DG works REAL good
wit tha females, fa real!! It’s like, when (it’s usually) Chris Willis, it’s
usually boring music wit a strong, male vocal. Wit tha females, tha music iz
BANGIN’ wit a great female name to it. It’s bangin’ right here, and KR makes it
sound REAL GREAT!! If “Love Is Gone” went Pop, this should soon. BTW, speaking
of Ultra, congrats to Kim Sozzi “Feel Your Love” for goin’ Pop recently! :tu It
seems like it could be one of tha biggest Dance songs of tha year. If not, one
of tha most anticipated/demanded ones for anyone this year! My Rating: 4.7
02.
AnnaGrace “Let The Feelings Go (Radio Edit)”
Was
‘pose to get it already, but I waited ‘til PO,
which I knew was comin’ sooner or later. Real curious to see tha next single
from AG!!! >>> Almost sounds like that typical deadmau5 music/Inpetto
music, but sounds good again on this! I like tha chorus, and tha 1st
verse sounded real nice too! Great to hear tha 2nd verse too! Anotha
banger, and I KNOW this CD gon have a
WHOLE LOT to offer!! Welcome to tha Summer of 2009!! Catchy song, and fits
GREAT for a 2nd single!! My
Rating: 4.2
03.
Annet Artani “Alive (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”
A
former Party 105 song (tha original) from this Greek hottie (yup, I remember
her bein’ Greek ‘cause my girl at college reppin’ Greece)!! :) They added tha
original back in November 2008, but I think UK issued it on a March 2008 CD.
Well, Ultra signed it from SWAP Management, and even though it still 129 BPM, I
wonder, did JN mix more of tha original version in it? Lemme find out!
>>> LOL, tha intro iz still tha original version… Oh, here comes tha
Dance beat in tha beginning (bangin’)!! This sounds more JN Funkrokr style,
which I remember, on tha blog, there were 2 different types of JN mixes. I have
a feelin’ tha other mix was better. Not too much into tha music during tha 1st
verse or tha chorus (didn’t make tha chorus exciting). I like tha music after
tha chorus though. Beginning of tha 2nd verse had good music. You
know I feel those Greek vocals at all times! Not bad first listen for me. Ewe,
a 16 second echo-outro… My Rating: 3.8
04.
Livvi Franc “Now I’m That Chick (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Radio Edit)”
I
thought this was one of those cool Dance songs at first, but when I saw tha
label, it’s tha typical Pop/R&B label (Jive/Zomba), so tha Dance attribute
iz squashed in this one. I neva heard or seen tha original, so let’s see what
this about; I got a high AL
for it!! Oh yeah, I’m gonna keep track and see which songs would be good for my
girl on Long Island (Alicia) for her future
CDs (I’ll call ‘em “Aliciable”; so far, Songs 1 and 2 are. Not sure of 3 ‘cause
I gave her tha original last December); this should be “Aliciable”, lol! >>>
GREAT music start, and it sounds more on that Pop side vs. tha Gangsta R&B
side (which I thought was gonna be). There’s a dirty version wit “Bitch” in it.
LOL @ tha “you’re just a clown” part. Thanx to MR, it sounds like it will be a
Dance anthem! Just ‘cause of tha title, it’s easily “Aliciable”! Great job for
a (possibly hot) female!! That’s 4/4 songs wit a female vocalist!! My Rating: 4.3
05.
Jesse McCartney Feat. Ludacris “How Do You Sleep? (Smash Mode Radio Remix)”
Really,
this iz kinda old (came out beginning of this year), but I think tha video was
just released, so I guess PO found a remix.
Low AL ‘cause of tha BPM, but a new remixer could be nice… >>> Good
music, although slow. Nothin’ much to say so far… That title sounds kinda
random… Good part by Ludacris. Good HM, although I don’t really give Alicia
HMs, unless it’s extremely good for her, and that it’s a Party 105 mix. I may
give her this, so I’ll IC this for her. My
Rating: 3.5
06.
Solange “T.O.N.Y. (Mark Picchiotti Radio Edit)”
Anotha
song I didn’t wanna see a remix to. Just like wit “Sandcastle Disco”, this gets
remixed as soon as tha original has been dead. Really, how did this get a remix?
Dickriding? >>> Odd start to tha music, but can be good. I mean,
“Sandcastle Disco” was turned into a HOT HM, but this original version was just
slow and not “POable”, lol. I like tha parts before tha chorus. There’s really
nothin’ else to comment wit this song. Tha lyrics aren’t really catchy for me,
especially to have its shine on this CD. They make Beyoncé tha HM queen, and
then they make her sister, Solange, tha HM-Disco Dance queen, lol. [Not really
Aliciable due to HM and not much interest] My
Rating: 3.3
07.
Deborah Cox “Beautiful U R (Jody Den Broeder Radio Edit)”
Finally
on PO! They decided to put one of tha 2nd
released remixes on here. According to one of tha people that left feedback on
this on PB: They said this sounds like JDB’s remix of “Poker Face” recycled. If
that’s tha case, high AL for me ‘cause I wound up LUVIN’ tha “PF” remix JDB put
out, especially since those background vocals made me go nuts in a good mood!
:) >>> Not bad start. I forgot, this was anotha song I gave Alicia
back in December (tha original version), so we’ll see if this can be Aliciable.
It prolly will ‘cause it a new remix, and P105 might play. Good remix, and
easily tha best for airply, but for Debroah Cox, she’s known to get anthematic
remixes, which unfortunately, this’ll prolly not be remembered by many people
in tha future. My Rating: 3.7
08.
Kevin Rudolf Feat. Kid Cudi “Welcome To The World (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation
Radio Edit)”
WTF?
And PO Error No. 1: It’s Rudolf, not ph, smh. I thought Rick Ross was
tha featured rapper? MCH plays this a lot. I mean, it ain’t even big… I thought
KR was done after “Let It Rock” wit Lil’ Wayne
(he may be considered a “one-hit wonder”)? Anyway, I know MR gon have tha
luring music, but I know I gon have confused ideas when listenin’ to this…
>>> LOL, nowhere near Aliciable… I don’t think he’ll last, or this
song. Nice music, but for tha Dance world? Damn, that’s random… LOL @ Kid Cudi
really bein’ on here… What made them replace tha rapper? If they didn’t ID him,
I would’ve neva known who it was. At 2:27, he says, “niggaz.” LOL @ it not
bein’ censored, but when KR said “freaky shit,” tha “shit” part was edited. I
don’t see how this could be considered on any Dance station. It has nothin’ to
it. My Rating: 3.9
09.
Steelers Feat. Naomi “Time 2 Wait (Bellatrax Radio Edit)”
Statistically,
my highest AL.
And shit, you know when it’s Bellatrax on tha beat, it’s ALREADY REAL HOT!!!
It’s a Next Plateau signed song, so that’s EVEN HOTTER!!! Who are these
featured artists? That’s EVEN HOTTER TOO!!! Tha short length of 2:32 too!! Male
or female vocals? Very curious ‘cause I pictured male vocals at first, but IDK…
>>> It’s female vocals, but let’s see how this gets better… I expected
way hotter, but I don’t know… Sounds like one of those mainstream Dance songs
that comes outta nowhere. I don’t like tha chorus as it’s too repetitive… I
like tha “kiss” part in tha verses though. My
Rating: 4.0
10.
Kat DeLuna “Dance Bailalo (Original Edit)”
A
newbie from her (it looks like her “Unstoppable” song wit Lil’ Wayne went nowhere). Let’s see why PO picked no mix… >>> Nice start, and great
chorus too. Ooh, I like tha Dance beat in tha 1st verse. She sounds
nice throughout tha whole song. Ended kinda fast, but GREAT anthem! I wonder
how it’ll do everywhere… My Rating: 3.9
11.
Sylvia Tosun & Loverush UK!
“5 Reasons (Original)”
LOL
@ just “original” in tha mix. DEFINITELY a high AL for anotha ST song, especially wit a
collaboration!! Who would’ve thought “Underlying Feeling” was so big for her in
tha Dance world! >>> Good start, but I don’t know why everyone wants
to have that Inpetto/deadmau5 style in their music… Not bad for me, and good
vocals. Tha music and vocals at least makes this somethin’ interesting to hear.
I wonder how I’ll feel about it in tha future. I know this’ll be everywhere
like tha last song. I hope to feel it more in tha future, but glad to see her
put anotha song out. I like that ending, especially wit tha fade-out! My Rating: 3.9
½time: Well, I expected a lil’
better for a start, but I can’t complain… Average CD rating iz at only a 3.9,
so I hope it increases!! A lot of songs Alicia would like, so thumbs up on
that!
12.
Daisy “Everytime (Radio Edit)”
A new Robbins song/artist so it should be REAL HOT like tha weather earlier in tha week!!!!! >>> Yes, nothin’s better than a BANGIN’ DANCE INTRO!!! Good, some more excitement to tha CD!! Definitely a GREAT song wit GREAT Robbins vocals and its typical HOT music!! Tha whole entire song kept it REAL consistent, especially wit tha music and that BANGIN’ chorus!!! LOL @ tha fade-out at tha end. I expected a cold outro (like most bangin’ Dance songs), but it’s still cool ‘cause I like my fade-outs! My Rating: 4.5

Jason Nevins “Open Ur
Mind (Radio Edit)”
PO’s favorite HM/remixer iz now bein’ a DJ again on
a track (hasn’t happened since like 6 years ago wit tha “I’m In Heaven” song).
He decided to go “ultra” fast wit tha 142 BPM here, so with a high AL, let’s see what he’s
doin’ here… >>> Who’s doin’ tha vocals? Sounds nice so far… Hey, tha
beginning of tha verse, actually, tha whole song sounds like Bishop
Kennedy/Suzanne Carlsson “I Believe”. Oh shit, they used tha “I Believe” chorus
too; no no! Watch, he’ll get away wit it ‘cause it’s on Ultra, it’s him, it’s
still a remake, and everybody gon dickride it, when everyone ignored Bishop
Kennedy’s song last year. :( What’s wit tha title part? It sounds random to be
a title, like it would trick me into thinkin’ it was somethin’ else. Either
way, good vocals, and REAL bangin’ music!! Tha other version was MUCH better,
but because tha other version died before I started makin’ Alicia CDs (which
was Late September 2008), this’ll go on her CDs when it gets out there. My Rating: 4.2
14.
Lara McAllen “That’s How To Love (Massmann Main Radio Mix)”
This
iz tha song I have tha most AL
for like CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! And not just “Radio Edit” in tha mix name,
they put “Main Radio Mix”, so you know Next Plateau has ANOTHA HOT SONG on
their hands!!! Thanx to NP for comin’ back, signin’ songs like these from tha UK ‘cause LM needs more U.S. exposure!!!!! >>> *BluBlack
voice* “Shit chea,” it’s great to hear that voice again!! That music hits hard,
and sounds great too! Good job here… I was gonna say somethin’ else but forgot,
lol. Oh yeah, she sounds like Dannii Minogue. :) I know Ultra was in charge of
Dannii, but hopefully NP will do some signin’ and get her more U.S. exposure
too! Real catchy, and just SO great!!! My
Rating: 4.4
15.
DJ Demarko Feat. Heather Leigh West “Drop A House (Razor & Guido Radio
Edit)”
LOL,
“drop a house?” Plus, a content warning? You know unexpected oddness brings a
high AL to
me!! Glad to see HLW back again too! >>> Now, THIS iz tha R&G sound from back in tha day, not like tha
“Candle (Sick & Tired)” remix, even though that one was good!! LOL, anotha
Dance vs. Dance song (from The Tamperer
Feat. Maya “Feel It” (EDIT:
Actually, after reading facts, HLW came with it before The Tamperer & Maya!))?
No less, it has AnnaGrace “You Make Me Feel” sound in it; lol. Now, I hear tha
title, and it makes sense. Let’s “drop a chimney” too, lol. I guess tha content
warning iz there ‘cause she says, “Wanna drop a house on that bitch” (“bitch”
censored). Thumbs up for resurrecting tha 1998 classic. Even though this a
lower rating for me than tha Jason Nevins remake, at least this one didn’t give
me a “huh?” My Rating: 4.1
16.
Andy Caldwell Feat. Gram’ma Funk “Funk Nasty (Radio Edit)”
A
“gram’ma”, lol!! What will this CD bring out next…? At least AC puttin’ out
anotha single. I think P105 IC’d it in a mix…? >>> LOL @ tha alarm
clock! :rofl Nothin’ much to say, but good beat, and anotha good House song. Good
to have a “gram’ma”, lol! It’s a good sound for Alicia, but due to tha
repetitiveness, I don’t think it’ll be on her CD. I might use tha background
music for an intro though. My Rating: 3.6
17.
Kaci Battaglia “Crazy Possessive (Radio Edit)”
One
of tha HOTTEST songs of tha Summer, I know it! This time, she made more of a
Pop/”Womanizer” song, but no less signed wit Big Management (Dance label),
goin’ under her full name (but stayed on tha Pop label Curb Records). She
hasn’t really had Pop success since 2001-2002, so really, if this song doesn’t
get on Pop stations, they trippin’! So what, it’s a 136 BPM Dance beat; it has
a Pop topic! I gave Alicia a “Drumma Boy Remix” ‘cause I couldn’t find this at
first, but when listened on her MySpace, tha “Drumma Boy Remix”, which iz a
bootleg, was better IMO. Now, for tha review! >>> Shit, that beginning
beat iz just BANGIN’! How weird, those sound effects (after every 4 lines)
sound like Drumma Boy (Down South Rap producer; tha bootlegger doesn’t sound
like tha typical Drumma Boy sound). That hook, “Call my man again, and I’mma
fuck you up,” just brings tha mainstream sound to it! Shit’s just BANGIN’, and
now I got 2 versions to play!!! :tu My
Current Rating: 4.4
18.
La Roux “Quicksand (Original)”
I was SO FUCKIN’ EXCITED for this 137 BPM song wit an ELEMENT (tha Earth element of “sand”) in tha title, but when I saw tha label (Interscope Records), I was like, “WTF?” Why a Pop/Rock label? Iz that what tha song gon sound like? I REALLY wanted Trance, but it seems like no one wanna sign that shit/put it on here anymore… >>> LOL, what iz this? Not even Dance… Weird female vocals… What can I say? LOL @ tha music right before and after tha chorus; sounds pretty nice. I expected a better song… My Rating: 3.0

Lelah Paine “Stay (Giusepppe D Tune-Adliks Original Edit)”
PO Error No. 2: They have tha “u” in GD’s name before tha “i”.
Anyway, thank God we’re back to tha official Dance sound! Looks like a hot
female name, so high AL!!
>>> Wow, BANGIN’ START, and reminded me of Kristy Kay’s “I Will Wait”
in tha beginning when tha GD sound kicked in!! :tu Tha chorus iz good, but wit
that BANGIN’ music in tha verse, I expected better. REALLY turned on by this!!
:) :) GREAT SONG, and I like tha lil’ fade-in part wit tha vocals at around
1:55!! I wish tha song was longer, but HUGE TURN ON!!! Real nice vocals I must
add!! My Rating: 4.7
20.
Monica Leigh “Come To Me (Silent Nick Edit)”
Anotha
TIGHT remixer wit ANOTHA new female!! Ooh, and she’s got “Leigh” in her name
too! :) Good thing this one iz a minute (exact no less, lol) longer, so I can
hear more!! Givin’ me a high AL,
so I finna listen!! >>> SN wit his HIGH ENERGY music again!! Tha 1st
30 seconds sounded HOT! Ooh, HOT vocals (they sound better than tha previous
song’s)!! :) I liked tha chorus in tha previous song on this CD better, but it
sounds hot and catchy still; BANGIN’!! I like her “in tha club” part in tha
chorus; makes tha song sound even more catchy/clubby/hot!! :) Oh no, only 51
seconds left! :( Tha bridge sounded nice, but it ends wit it? :? Should’ve had
that HOT chorus again, but then again, people don’t want their RE’s to go to
like 4:30ish usually. :( My Rating: 4.5
EDIT: Lemme see who signed that
song (I remember tha No. 19 song was an unknown label)… Oh shit, anotha new
label: Yo Pal! (no less instead of
“Your”, it has “Yo” (for slang); what a HUGE turn on for a song like this!!)
21.
Cidnho & Doca “Rap Das Armas (Quintino Radio Edit)”
LOL,
it has “Rap” in tha title; TIGHT!! :) BTW, Fedde Le Grand “PYHUFD” set tha
record back on tha November 2006 issue for shortest PO
song eva (at 2:26). Now, it’s this song (only 2:19 long)!! I have NO CLUE what
to expect from this, and I think P105 had IC’d it in their mix show as well? Good
AL for this,
and it’ll prolly be ova before I know it… Oh yeah, Ultra signed. >>> LOL,
weird. Ultra signin’ some more odd songs, lol. LOL @ tha crazy music at 1:19!!
I expected A LOT BETTER music than Axwellish music vs. MCE music. I thought it
was gonna have like “Hot Summer Night” music. :( I thought it was kinda useless
to make this tha shortest PO song eva, but
LOL… Nothin’ really to say. My Rating: 2.7
22.
Kid Cudi “Day N Nite (Crookers Remix Radio
Edit)”
Back
on May 27, 2008, I downloaded this cool song that MCE started to play called
“Day N Nite (Crookers Remix)” by Kid Cudi. What’s today’s date… HUH? April 30,
2009? WTF? That was almost a year ago, and here it iz, again! They like
frequently played tha song ‘til earlier this month; it finally calmed down. Bad
move for PO to put this on here SOOO late (so what, it was signed to a MCE type
label in Early 2008, and got re-signed to a couple Hip-Hop labels in Fall 2008;
it’s STILL Domestic)!! I still like tha song, and I remember when first hearing
it, I thought it was just a random House person, but no, he’s a rapper. >>>
I don’t like how it’s shortened (tha full mix I had was like 4.75 minutes);
short intro… Tha Crookers have a cool-as-fuck type of beat when they make
beats, so a big thumbs up goes to tha beat here! Bad fusion to make it a RE at
1:33. :td Tha lyrics are about someone, and it sounds nice and random. :tu It’s
weird to say this, but this iz a Dance classic for SO many people, lol. So many
people will be like, “Ah, shit! Remember this song? SOOOO brings back
memories!” SMH @ tha bad ending at 3:26; they should’ve just left it as tha
club mix’s… Not Aliciable ‘cause it made her January 2009 CD. My Current Rating:
4.0
Overall: Well, tha fun iz over. A
few of tha songs like No. 9 could’ve been better. Plus, they could’ve did
somethin’ about No. 18 too… A bunch of BANGERZ, although some of tha lacking
songs lead this CD to be only a 4.0 average rating (which iz still pretty good
though). Not many in tha mainstream yet, so we’ll see how everybody does! Now
then, 24 hours from now (around), I finna start my “Louisiana Reviewz
Marathon”, so good luck to me reviewin’ 600+ Louisiana CDs!!!
