Goin’
on a day trip to a trail between tha Delaware Water Gap (end of Pennsylvania) & tha beginning of New Jersey with a classmate 2morrow, so I
wanted 2 get this reviewed before I go out there! Promo Only: Dance Radio May 2012;
looks like we have tha best one for this year, so far!!! Due to accidentally
samplin’ some songs on here, I possibly already know what my #1 iz! Start Time: 9:18 PM | End Time: 11:17 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01.
Tiësto & Wolfgang Gartner Feat. Luciana “We Own The Night”
Neva heard it, yet, but it looks like it’s
gonna be big for tha dance world…! A look like this makes me know that we’re in
for a good CD!!! >>> Sounds like a slow, anticipatin’ start; seems to
be a lot of “We ___ The Night” titles, these dayz. This one marks 3 within 13
months. I hear some hot Tiësto sounds goin’ on, here; you neva know if
Luciana’s gonna rap or sing, but this iz more of a singing, wit a lil’ bit of
an urban swag mixed in tha middle. Tha chorus sounds a lil’ like Nelly Furtado…
Those Tiësto sounds almost sound like they sample a dance song from 10 years
ago: Intenso Project “Luv Da Sunshine” (after “LDS”’s chorus)! My Rating: 4.4
02.
Eva Simons “I Don’t Like You”
Shout
out to Avicii’s “Le7els” for opening tha door for major label, Interscope
Records, to sign true dance artists/songs like this (and “Calling”, which iz
later on in this CD)! That’s huge exposure to do it big in tha dance world, and
have an easier access to crossover into tha pop world! Thanx to searchin’ for
this song, to see if it hit a PO, earlier this month, I wound up sampling a
bunch of this CD, accidentally, lol. For tha song itself, it sounds like a good
solo song from “Take Over Control”. Lol, tha title reminds me of my 1st
college (2007 dayz), where this one kid would scream, “SHUT UP, I DON’T LIKE
YOU,” lol!! Beat’s okay, but that chorus iz nice and strong, to where I start
laughin’ at those strong, sounds-like-screamin’ vocals, lol! I think this
song’s gonna be big to where I might not play it as much. It may last on my
playlist for quite some months, but I don’t think it’ll chart too high… My Current Rating: 4.2
03.
Rihanna “Where Have You Been (Hardwell Radio Edit)”
AL looks low; wonder how
Hardwell will sound after havin’ an ear-catchin’ remix to Bella’s “Nobody Loves
Me” last year. >>> Nice beat start for tha beginning; this sounds
better than tha Bella remix, but tha Bella song was better. A lil’ catchy wit
Rihanna’s parts, but nothin’ really to say about her. Ooh, tha chorus iz top
notch, right here!! LOL, a music breakdown after tha chorus, just like in
“Nobody Likes Me”. However, this breakdown sounds a lil’ like tha Alex Gaudino
& Jason Rooney remix of Casely’s “Neva Fall” (2/11 PO).
My Rating: 4.3
04.
Alex Gaudino Feat. Taboo “I Don’t Wanna Dance”
Looked
like a really low AL once I saw tha “Promo Only Clean Edit” in tha ID, but
luckily, I hope wit this bein’ a dance artist, we can get somethin’ good outta
this! >>> An okay start; for some reason, I knew male vocals were
gonna come outta this… Music sounds okay on tha chorus, but c’mon, it could be
better; that Rihanna remix right before sounds better, music wise, which that
should be tha opposite? Within tha 2nd chorus, it sounds like a
grower… My Rating: 4.0
05.
U.V.U.K. “Blink”
Got
some interestin’ AL
here. Almost a year ago, they had my #1 rated song on tha June 2011 CD
(“Forever”) that sadly, no one picked up. Now, it’s good that they’re not a
one-hit wonder but also, this made 5/12’s Mainstream Radio, too? Will it have a
pop vibe, if that’s tha case, especially so fast? Usually, dance artists/songs
take months and months to get to Mainstream Radio’s PO…
>>> Sounds like a good start, and iz on tha dance tip… Ooh, a lil’ bit
of tha 2000s-type beat during tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse,
it sounds like. If this was about 135 – 140 BPM, it would sound exactly like
tha 2000s, but this iz still really good! Ooh, hot chorus, too; congratulations
on already gettin’ on POMR!! By bein’ on MR, I know this should get out there;
at least some exposure now! My Rating: 4.5
06.
Jennifer Lopez Feat. Pitbull “Dance Again”
Looks
like this one made it on here… According to J. Lo, she wanted to make an “On
The Floor” Part 2. Sounds a lil’ different, but it’s still an anthem! Of
course, tha chorus sounds tha best… When Pitbull raps for tha 2nd
time on here, it almost sounds like tha ‘90s in tha beat, lol. Good rhymes,
this time; nothin’ terrible… My Current
Rating: 4.3
07.
Gareth Emery Feat. Christina Novelli “Concrete Angel”
Looks
like a jackpot song? Just typing tha ID felt like $1,000,000, lol! There’s a
couple of trance DJs on this CD, and I’m glad Robbins’ next-door neighbors,
Next Plateau, picked up a GE song! I still don’t get why PO ignores Napith
Music (hot dance label from last year)’s songs, such as tha Dash Berlin &
GE songs that were signed last year, as well as tha big Sunfreakz song that was
all over MCD (“The Way We Are”). Now then, on to hearin’ this!!! >>>
Sounds like a very good, smooth start
wit tha vocals and hot beats behind it! Got some hot music comin’ ‘round :45.
:tu Ooh, gotta luv it! I’m finally hearin’ a chorus at 1:50, and it sounds like
we got some really good vocals! Damn,
#7 on tha CD? Don’t really hear somethin’ like this so early, so hopefully,
it’ll get out there! Yes, another chorus; glad it played at least 2x!! My Rating: 4.7
08.
Kerli “Zero Gravity (Laidback Luke Remix Edit)”
One
of tha accidentally-listened-to-before-it-hit-PO songs on here. Like I said
earlier, when seein’ if Eva Simons made a PO/what label tha song was signed to,
I found PO’s Express Audio DFF tracklisting
for Week 5 of March. I dunno what was goin’ through my brain, but I initially
was like, “Damn, that PO was months ago;”
meanwhile, it was one week ago (since I did my discoveries April 4, tha day I
got approved for my internship at a local news station). It seems as though I
got tha original version to this song; tha remixes didn’t really compare too
much. If I can recall, this remix sounded alternative? Lemme give it another
listen… >>> First 15 seconds are like, “lol,” but then, tha original
music’s on :16 - :30… It’s not too bad for a remix, but where are those
powerful beats I’m used to LL creating? It seems like, while tha non-dance
artists are tryna create their own thinkings of dance music, tha artists not from
tha US (Kerli’s from Estonia)
seem to create creative music with good-soundin’ dance beats. My Current Rating: 4.0
09.
T-Pain Feat. Ne-Yo “Turn All The Lights On (Baka Boyz Remix Edit)”
Oh
God, not no damn auto-tune for what’s ‘pose to be tha best CD of tha year, so
far!! :td I wanna shoot myself when I hear non-dance artists using auto-tune!!
Gotta deal wit T-Pain, tha guy who basically started this trend for why most of
tha rappers today sound HORRIBLE!!!
>>> C’mon, start already; no need for a long intro! Good beat, and not
as bad as I thought it was. For some reason, it could sound like a good HM once
Ne-Yo comes in on tha 2nd verse; it doesn’t sound like a boring
remix, for some reason, like those R3hab ones from tha last CD… My Rating: 3.7
10.
Kaskade & Skrillex “Lick It”
Speakin’
of popular things/artists people hate, seems like some of tha people that like
dance/techno up here in NEPA hate
Skrillex; they say he’s not dubstep
and doesn’t belong in tha dance world, as well as deadmau5, lol! Which, quoting
tha slogan from tha now-retired dance show on my college station: “The Raving
Mad Show, More than just dubstep and a mouse.” :rofl I kinda don’t get their
hate for d5, but w/e… Not sure if I heard tha whole thing, or saw tha whole
thing play, but I know MTV Hits had a sneak peak of this song, when they
featured Kaskade on MTV News. >>> Sounds discoish for tha start, and
even sounds faster than I pictured it to be… Hmm, sounds like a catchy song for
tha 2010s decade…; thought it was sayin’, “Lick tha chocolate,” lol. Really
likin’ tha part ‘round 2:00; this iz somethin’ really hot, after all!! My Rating: 4.4
½time: Wow, 4.3 for tha CD rating, so far; this
iz a really HOT CD, just as I
pictured it!! Nothin’ too wack, and lots of potential hits comin’ from this,
right here!!!
11.
Train “Drive By (Smash Mode Radio Edit)”
Of
course, because tha original version has BPM in tha 120s, you know it had to be dance-remixed! Neva been tha craziest about Train, but wit a SM remix,
that could help… >>> Nothin’ too catchy for a start, so far, but not
really bashin’ on it, either. Lol, no catchiness in tha chorus, either; ugh…
Overall, this ain’t too bad, but it looks like it’s gonna be my lowest-rated on
here? My Rating: 3.4
12.
Skye Stevens “Takes All Night (James Doman Radio Mix)”
Another
accident song. Actually, tha original version sounds like a really hot-produced
“We Run The Night”, male version, wit tha beat. Didn’t quite catch onto it
‘cause of gettin’ used to tha vocals, so I dunno about a remix… >>> I thought
I heard this in a MCD mixshow, too (Mike Rizzo’s?), but I couldn’t figure out
what it was, lol. If I was to IC somethin’ of this song, it would be tha
original version; this doesn’t really do anything new to it, except maybe add a
few dance BPMs… A lil’ bit of a pop vibe; guess we can call this a HM? My Rating: 3.9
13.
Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso Feat. Ryan Tedder “Calling (Lose My Mind)”
Another
one signed with Interscope, on a mainstream tip. Heard this in mixshows quite
often and thought it was a big dance song. However, when I saw tha vocalist, I
was like, “I guess tha pop group vocalists are taking over?” RT’s tha lead
singer of OneRepublic; even tha lyrics sound dance-y here, especially since tha
1st & 2nd verses are tha same, lol. Of course, wit a
SHM DJ & a Nadia Ali “Pressure” remixer as tha DJs on here, of course it’s
gonna be a huge dance hit, lol! My
Current Rating: 4.2
14.
Sardar “Party Life (Jump Smokers Radio Edit)”
Forgot
what it was; lemme review it first without lookin’ at tha ID… >>>
Sounds like another pop/HM… Oh, JS on tha mix? Just gonna reveal tha ID
immediately. *Looks at ID* Neva heard of tha
artist, but yea, this kinda sounds like a HM—or yet, a rapper tryna be in tha
dance world, lol? Kinda sounds like tha same, usual shit, like a below-average
version of Pitbull. Kinda thinkin’ tha chorus iz catchy but c’mon, what’s wit
all these rappers tryna sing? That’s another thing that’s makin’ tha real rap world sour! Even quotin’ LMFAO
wit tha “sexy and [you] know it” shit, too… My Rating: 3.6
15.
Yulia K “End Of The Earth (Smash Mode Radio Edit)”
Accident
song, but my #1!!! OMG, I can only imagine what tha 1st listen
would’ve been like if I heard it for tha 1st time on this CD? After
accidentally adding it, I was lookin’ for her pic, and saw that she was a
Russian girl! :) Tha original version’s hot, too, even though a lil’ slow; this
kicks major ass, though!!! Actually, I was blasting it on one of tha hot dayz,
earlier this month, and a trail of kids were chasing after my car! LOL, I got a
lil’ anti-social… Gotta luv those vocals, and strong chorus!! Also, amazing beat on tha chorus, as well as
catchiness in tha music throughout tha whole song?! My Current Rating: 4.9
16.
Above & Beyond Feat. Zoё Johnston “Love Is Not Enough”
Prolly
could’ve expected a faster BPM, but I’ll still anticipate it! >>>
Sounds like a very hot vocal start,
wit a slow beat that’ll prolly get bigger! Have to say, “Thing Called Love” was
such a flop for me; MCD beastin’ it, of course, so you know they betta pick this up!! Hearin’ tha beat kick in ‘round
1:00ish, and I’m feelin’ it; sounds like somethin’ that you would listen to
when it’s freezing out, hiking, or in a dark place… Ooh, added beats at 1:59;
good job wit tha VT, A&B! Lol, hearin’ tha vocals and seein’ this artist’s
name, it actually, I believe, iz tha same as this chillout artist I heard in
’04, wit a silly-soundin’ chillout song that sounded sad. Well, you know, since
I rated that lolish “TCL” a 4.6, you know I gotta at least meet those
expectations!! My Rating: 4.7
17.
Usher “Climax (Kaskade Remix)”
Okay…
>>> As I would’ve pictured, I can’t take this serious; why do all
these songs out now have to have slow verses, but dance-y choruses? See, tha
A&B song was slow, but tha slowness in this sounds not for me. Okay, a beat
after tha chorus; good, but it was kinda expected… My Rating: 3.1
18.
Topher Jones Feat. The Heroes Of Old “Million Miles”
Before
I even hear it, in an Ultra Records signing perspective, I have to say that PO
doesn’t let Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina get a 2nd appearance on
PO, but TJ does, lol? “Lost It All” (tha 0 BPM-soundin’ song from tha 11/11 CD)
was big enough to where TJ gets a 2nd appearance, and “Stereo Love”
wasn’t, lol? Sounds backwards… >>> Okay, there’s an immediate start
wit tha beat this time, lol… A lil’ bit like a Chris Willis sound in tha
vocals; let’s see what comes outta this… Dry chorus; where’s exciting music?
Okay, a switch-up at 1:46, and it’s startin’ to sound like one of those unique,
male-vocal dance songs, in a way… Tha 3rd verse now sounds like DJ
Antoine, wit vocals and music… Also, tha music’s changing again; startin’ to
change my opinion from dry to liking… My
Rating: 4.1
19.
Shawn Stackz Feat. Tilly Key “2Day (Riddler Remix Edit)”
Looks
new on tha ID, and Riddler gives me AL.
However, a “z” in tha main artist name, includin’ tha word “Stackz” (startin’
to hate money terms, these dayz, ‘cause people lie about it) makes me think
this iz HM-y…; time to do a detect test, lol! *Checks label it’s signed to* LOL,
it’s not a known label, luckily; I think it was tha boring, typical BPM that
threw me off… >>> Ooh, pretty anticipatin’ start, so far! Guess tha
main artist’s a DJ, since tha vocalist iz a female? Neva
mind, I hear male vocals on tha 1st verse; interestin’… I don’t
really have much feedback to leave for this, but it’s good for what it iz; of
course, feelin’ tha chorus! “2Day iz a good day;” won’t feel like that ‘til I
find my lost stuff! Then again, I’m kinda
comin’ to terms with letting it go… My
Rating: 4.2
20.
Natascha Bessez “Heal”
Her
name looks a lil’ familiar, but it’s not. New label, so possibly, a new dance
song? Then again, seein’ this “Promo Only Clean Edit” makes me think it’s gonna
sound like a HM… >>> Sounds really dance-y for a beginning beat;
sounds pretty anticipatin’, too! Ooh, hot, sexy vocals comin’ outta this! SMH @
“Clean Edit”; doesn’t sound like it would be dirty, and it even has tha ear
warning on tha back, lol! Ooh, really
hot chorus goin’ on here, too!! Kinda iz like a different feel for how I feel
about “End Of The Earth”, but I have that same, loving feeling! Sounded like a PO edited word @ 1:33? Weird… Hope this gets some
exposure; she sounds like a new, next big thing for any music world! My Rating: 4.8
21.
Liz Primo “Wind Me Up (Dark Intensity Remix Radio Edit)”
This
was an accident song, but I didn’t IC it, just yet. I didn’t think anything was
wrong wit it; for some reason, I always thought DI were bootleg remixers or
somethin’, lol. Now then, lemme give my full listen on this song. >>>
Tha beginning sounds like a hot way to end this CD! Vocals almost sound like
Dani Vasile, tha vocalist of Exit 59, and of course, there’s that hotness in
‘em! Overall, an okay-soundin’ song wit a better-than-average feel to it. My Rating: 4.1
Overall: Definitely a great way to
start, comin’ from a sad ending, as today was tha last time I was on my
college’s news, since I’m graduating in August! OMG, I’m neva gonna have to go
to college after August 25, 2012; gonna feel like a whole different world!!
But, I think we got tha Summer soundtrack here; just hope tha weather gets
hotter!!
