Feelin’
great, worked 4 AM – 2 PM & 5 PM – 9 PM yesterday, as well as gettin’
called in 4 AM – 11 AM on my day off today! Work ethic strong!! Now, time fa Promo
Only: Dance Radio August 2016, tha review! What tha hell’s with only 18
songs & only 57:28 long? Not even an hour?! Damn! What happened?! Start Time: 8:12 PM | End Time: 9:54 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

Alicia Keys x Kaskade “In Common (Radio Mix)”
Well, with this month, I feel like I’m honorin’ my boy, Doe-Doe, since I rewarded him last Friday, July 22, 2016. Of course, tha 1st PO song has to have his birthday on tha BPM!! 120!! LOL, not my favorite BPM tempo but still defines what’s up, right now!! I’ono how great this’ll be; we’ll see, with RCA… >>> Kinda doesn’t sound like what would be an R&B song fa Ms. Keys… Kinda feelin’ this a lil’ better than I thought I would, though I’ono about a lotta airplay for me… Music ain’t pretty bad for a Kaskade sound; sounds good, overall… My Rating: 3.7

Kungs & Cookin’ On 3 Burners “This Girl”
Oh
boy, “this” song… Was so thrown off by it when Music Choice Dance debuted it
but with a 2010 mixshow soundbite, instead! I almost thought this had to do
with “Ghosts N Stuff”! But yeah, Casablanca & Republic on tha label, here…
I’ono how crazy I can go for this song… It has a nice sound to it with
mysterious, good-soundin’ vocals… Speakin’ of this title, shout out to “this
girl,” Heather, at my job! My Current
Rating: 3.5
03.
DJ Snake feat. George Maple “Talk”
Can’t
believe that “This Girl” was tha fastest song of tha three, so far, at only 122
BPM! This tha next single from DJ Snake; how will this sound? Interscope…
>>> Wasn’t expectin’ a female on tha vocals, here; kinda sounds like
Jessie Ware… I’m likin’ this slow start, so far, soundin’ like soul house or
somethin’… This kinda has that Alicia Keys vibe to it, where tha Alicia Keys
song had more of a dance-vocal-like feel to it… Mixed-up-soundin’ drop, as tha
Snake always likes to do it; nice… Not bad for a lil’ new track, even though we
need more faster music out there than this slow shit… Long ending of silence at
tha end… My Rating: 3.6
04.
Bob Sinclar “Someone Who Needs Me (New Radio Edit)”
Neva
really paid attention to tha regular radio edit but let’s see, here, with
Spinnin’ Deep in tha buildin’… >>> Kinda sounds like actual dance
music, tha 1st time on here, no less from a Sinclar… Vocals are
kinda ehh, but tha vibe’s on tha actual dance/house tip, not no slow-slow shit…
Not bad for somethin’ I ain’t heard, before; nice effort! My Rating: 3.9
05.
Feenixpawl & APEK feat. Karra “Quicksand”
Betcha
this gon be my top-rated song, lol! I’ont see this CD makin’ a comeback… A
lotta slow shit toward tha end! Eclypse Records, here! Excited ta hear this
one!! >>> Definitely anticipatin’ these vocals and this build-up goin’
on in tha beat! Yeah, I was right about this prolly bein’ my top-rated song;
definitely a great prediction! Tha drops always hit in a different way when I
first hear ‘em. Then, I get used to ‘em fast; nice, energetic vibe, here, about
tha “quicksand!” My Rating: 4.6
06.
Vicetone feat. Cozi Zuehlsdorff “Nevada”
Okay!
Maybe, we have more competition?!
Looks real exciting; can’t wait ta hear tha new single!! Monstercat on tha
label, this time! >>> Don’t know this Cozi but that’s an interesting
last name! Definitely nice vocals and excellent starting music! Likin’ whatever
tha chorus iz; nice sound! Interesting drop; ain’t expect this… Likin’ how tha
2nd chorus sounds… I’ono if it’ll beat “Quicksand”, but this a nice
try… Definitely diggin’ tha slow music after tha 2nd chorus! Hope
this one grows on me, too! My Rating: 4.6
07.
Nicky Romero “The Moment (Novell)”
This looks exciting, but will it live up to its expectations? Both Protocol & Thrive on tha label! Could two excellent labels work out fa 2x tha power? We shall see!! Maybe, some mysterious female vocals? Random guess… >>> Yeah, I ain’t think it was gon be female vocals, since I ain’t hear many female-vocal tracks NR was presenting… These uncredited male vocals are ehh… Tha chorus sounds pretty nice and defining! Also, I’m really diggin’ this drop! Definitely makes tha whole song, even though it was gon be longer! Kinda gives me a lil’ sour, male version of “Heartbeat” (10/15 PO)! Really likin’ tha extra part after tha 2nd chorus! Oh, climax to tha drop; fuckin’ lovin’ it!!! Not my highest-rated song, but tha drop’s definitely tha top moment of this CD, so far!! My Rating: 4.4

08.
Tiësto feat. John Legend “Summer Nights”
Ehh…
Casablanca/Republic, here… Heard Music Choice Dance get it and I have a feelin’
it gon be a sell-out… Kinda like it better than “All Of Me” but I didn’t think
there should’ve been a Part 2… Boring, but some upbeat vibes, here… Definitely
likin’ this vibe and I can’t believe I like it better than tha 1st
four songs!! My Current Rating: 3.9
09.
Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson “Tears (99 Souls Radio Edit)”
Anotha
mix fa 99 Souls, but at its original 130 BPM, here… Big Beat & Atlantic,
once again; can’t wait to hear this remix! >>> Figured with tha original
BPM that it was prolly gon similar to tha original… So far, tha same start; am
I trippin’? Am I buggin’? Repeat song? Sounds exactly tha same!! I ain’t high
as fuck, then, lol!! My Current Rating: 4.7
Just
for kicks, lemme google tha real 99
Souls Radio Edit and see what comes up… *Googles…* Wow, only three results on
Google; am I still buggin’ out, lol?! Damn, guys! You gon get me a virus, lol!
That happened once, actually, back with tha December 2008 PO, with Judy Torres
& Bonnie Stone “Hell No”, when y’all had tha No Rap Edit on there. I went
and peeped out tha one with tha rap in it, and my shit got a virus on it!
Fucked up!!! Anyway, got a hold of tha real 99 Souls Radio Edit… Yeah, I
thought 130 BPM was too good to be true… Kinda sounds interesting before tha
chorus comes on; it has a nice throwback feel to it, when I grew up on dance
music… Jumps right to tha bridge instead of a chorus, lol… Tha 2nd
verse sounds like trap… I like this unique blend, here… Still, a surprise to
see them produce a 130-BPM track! My rating for this mix will be a 4.5, but I
count tha 4.7, since that was tha version on
tha CD!
½time: This CD’s tryna hang in
there, and it passed tha ½time with a 4.1! Tha 1st few songs were ehh, but
tha 2nd ¼ of this CD picked right up! I’ono how much faith I have in
tha rest of this CD, but lemme just get through it…
10.
Moonshine Man “Trouble”
Can’t
imagine what this new one gon sound like, with Robbins on tha label…
>>> Really awkward start with this bluegrass-y start… Kinda sounds like
a bullshit pop song! Definitely think these bluegrass-y vocals gotta go! Beat’s
not bad, as it changes up, but I ain’t fuckin’ wit this track at all!! And, a
random drop, which I like… I think this tha 1st failure PO song that’s not deep house in a long while!! I honestly will admit, I don’t think this song
deserves success, lol! My Rating: 2.1
11.
Sharam feat. Anousheh “Same (Sharam’s Own Remix Radio Edit)”
Looks
like an excellent comeback, here, right after we just dodged that
Avicii-soundin’, bluegrass-ass-y bullshit, as well as those slow tracks! And,
comeback label: Yoshitoshi Recordings; haven’t seen that in a long while! Should I do my checkin’ on
tha last Yoshitoshi song? Can’t imagine! I would go with Dean Coleman &
DCLA “I Want You” from tha 3/09 PO, but I think there was one after… *Checks…*
Of course, I was right about tha “one after;” it was both Sharam + Anousheh
with “On & On” (6/13 PO); at least I got tha 2nd most-recent
right, lol!! And yeah, as always, can’t wait ta hear!! I know I’m braggin’ a
lot, but I think “On & On” was #11 on tha 6/13 PO,
as well! *Checks…* Ahh, it was #10! I was one
off again, lol!! >>> Definitely an excellent-soundin’ start for a real
dance track! Excellent vocals, once again! Definitely feels like somethin’ that
deserves success, not like that bullshit Moonshine Man song that was just on
here! Nice lil’ deep-soundin’ drop; I’m definitely feelin’ this! Definitely
sounds great tha whole way through! My
Rating: 4.5
12.
Sam Feldt x Lucas & Steve feat. Wulf “Summer On You”
Really
dug tha “Drive You Home” song from tha 3/16 PO
but it didn’t go anywhere, mainstream-wise… Spinnin’ Deep on tha label, here…
>>> A decent start but anotha unique drop; African, or Bob
Sinclar-like? Definitely likin’ how this Feldt keeps it interesting, when I
doubt him, sometimes… Interesting, quick vibe, here; I’ll definitely consider
it. My Rating: 4.2
13.
Lost Frequencies feat. Sandro Cavazza “Beautiful Life”
Tha
120 BPM’s back, though I don’t think I really gon anticipate this… Ultra on tha
label, here… >>> A slow start, so far; here come tha slow dance
tracks… Ugh, I hear those slow BPMs kickin’… I’ono what ta make of these
vocals… Sounds like somethin’ good to fall asleep to… So plain on tha chorus,
compared to tha “Beautiful Life” with Gozzi & them from tha last PO! Yeah, you can forget about this one! My Rating: 2.3
14.
Charlie Puth feat. Selena Gomez “We Don’t Talk Anymore (Attom Remix)”
I’ont
think I’m anticipatin’ this one, either. Tha “One Call Away” tends to get on my
nerves, especially since it reminds me of falling/gettin’ sent home that one
day! Can’t believe that was on a PO; felt
like, “I reviewed that?!” Atlantic, here…
>>> Really slow start but a nice vibe… Still, really-really dry! Only
110 BPM & now, just like tha one PO from a
few editions ago, where it was 120 BPM for five songs straight, it’s a bunch of
110’s! Nice collab, but too dry for me to really like. Could be a playlist
song, but way too dry! My Rating: 3.4
15.
Eva Simons & Sidney Samson “Escape From Love”
Looks
like it gon be a hot collab! Maybe, anotha contender for tha top? Spinnin’,
here! >>> Sounds nice; I’m definitely diggin’ it! Vocals are nice, as
well as how this sounds! What’s with tha strange-soundin’ drops? They’re so
trippy and interesting! Nice and strong chorus fa a slow track! My Rating: 4.3
16.
Dillon Francis feat. Snappy Jit “Candy”
Speakin’
of strangeness, here’s a DJ that defines that, at times… Ehh, anotha 110-BPM
song, with Columbia,
here… >>> Ehh, kinda feelin’ it tha same as tha “Trouble” song that I
hated on, on here… Kinda weird vocals, weird-soundin’ beat and random lyrics…
Beats are definitely cool, though; can’t deny that. Still, would I play? LOL…
I…can…’t…! My Rating: 2.5
17.
Aiden Jude & Melissa Ramsay “Higher (Disco Killerz Radio Edit)”
Lookin’
like a real-hot collab, here! A “Ghosts” + one of my new favorite DJs out
there, with Crowd Records on tha label!! Anotha slowie? I don’t think this one
gon fail, though! >>> Beats are pretty nice; wonder what an original
version sounds like? Nice vocals and great vibe, trappin’! LOL, ain’t know of what to think of with Disco Killerz
but they’re trap makerz, lol. Kinda
feelin’ other Aiden tracks more; I’ll have ta grow onto this one… We’ll see how
it turns out in tha future… My Rating: 3.8
18.
Pegboard Nerds & NGHTMRE feat. Krewella “Superstar”
Can’t
imagine… Monstercat on tha label, again, here; wanna hear this! >>>
Definitely feelin’ this for a new Krewella-featured song! Excellent-soundin’
fast beats for tha beginning!! Definitely feelin’ these mixed-up beat sounds
during tha drop! Dubsteppin’, trappin’, all in!! Hope this one gets a good
amount of airplay; definitely feelin’ tha dubstep sounds! It feels like a nice
resurrection, when I thought it died so long ago!! My Rating: 4.6
Overall: It felt like this review
took a while… That’s ‘cause I kept textin’ & postin’ in between, like,
every single song, lol… But, it turned out better than I expected,
surprisingly… A few flop songs, a few okay songs, but a good amount of
nice-rated tracks, too! A few have me excited to see when they’re goin’ to get
released, too! Can’t wait fa that!

Maybe,
tha most-unexpected #01 PO song on a PO??? Not
even tha correct version on tha CD and it topped tha rankings!! But yeah, if
that was tha correct version, I would’ve been right about “Quicksand” topping
it. Yeah, definitely a bunch of anticipatin’-to-play jointz on here!!
