Frankie here, with some older Promo Only reviewz. Never got tha chance to review these, at tha time, due to I wasn’t reviewin’ back when it came out. However, I’m doin’ it now ‘cause PO’s showin’ me luv by featurin’ me in their upcoming eNewsletter! So, there were only four Promo Only: Dance Radios that I neva got to review, and I finna review ‘em now! This way, I’ve reviewed all of ‘em! Yeah, they don’t even know I reviewed ‘em all! But, for these upcoming four reviewz, I know most of tha songs on here, so I don’t really need to fully listen. I’ll just state my regular opinion and what I remember about those I’ve already heard, for years, but in a perspective of not knowing what’s next for tha year; I’ll post a review on those that I neva really heard like I usually do, too… I’m also not gonna do a ½time, rankings and an average CD rating at tha end, to go with tha 2006 vibe, but will still score each song from 1.0 – 5.0. So, without further or do, here goes my long-awaited review for Promo Only: Dance Radio January 2006, lol! Start Time: 8:27 AM | End Time: 9:37 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Gorillaz “Dare (Dave Audé Edit)”

Great, fast-soundin’ beats from DA, here, with okay vocals from Gorillaz. This defined my journey to gettin’ to find my friend, Miguel, and what happened to him, throughout 2006… My Current Rating: 4.3

02. Natasha Bedingfield “Unwritten (Johnny Vicious Radio)”

Between this and tha Hani Num Radio version, I dunno, but I like ‘em both a lot. That one sounds more remixed-friendly for tha radio while this sounds more remixed-friendly for tha clubz… Nice beats from JV and great song fa ’06 for NB! My Current Rating: 4.5

03. Judy Torres “Faithfully (Valentin’s Radio Edit)”

Our first official dance song of 2006, here, and it’s a HUGE one!! Though a remake to Journey’s song, I have to admit, you gotta luv Judy on tha vocals! Nice beats from Valentin, as he’s tha king to go to, when it comes to a quality dance hit!! This one gon be, like, tha biggest dance song of ’06? We shall see! My Current Rating: 4.8

04. Roger Sanchez Feat. GTO “Turn On The Music (Axwell Edit)”

PO forgot to put tha feature (GTO). But, Music Choice Dance got this on December 28, 2005 @ 12:12 AM and I have to say, this sounds hot with those Axwell beats! Lots of chorus parts and then, tha verse comes… Will this be played out? I dunno, but it’s good to see a song like this in heavy rotation on MCD! My Current Rating: 4.4

05. Morrison “Love Of My Life”

And, here comes an oldie! MCD actually got this in tha middle of 2004! It was an unsigned song—oh wait, it’s still unsigned! Wait, then, where’d tha promotion come outta, two years later?! Glad I could finally get this; not sure if it’ll get to my playlist for 2006 but it’s an okay, underground, MCD-type song… My Current Rating: 3.7

06. Mariah Carey “Don’t Forget About Us (Tony Moran & Warren Rigg Dance Floor Anthem Radio Mix)”

Of course, pure remixers to help this Mariah song out… Original’s bleh, a lil’ slow and depressing, while this remix gives this life. MCD was already on this, back on November 16, 2005 @ 6:57 AM, and of course, in heavy rotation. Again, one of those songs that sounds like tha afterlife of tha Miguel friendship, as I have no idea where he went… My Current Rating: 4.1

07. Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine “Doctor Pressure (Radio Edit)”

LOL @ tha content warning! Everyone from KTU to Party 105 to iPartyRadio’s been on this, and I have to say, it sounds catchy to mix MSM with “Motherfuckers gonna take on tha pressure,” lol! I dunno what else to say, but welcome to 2006! My Current Rating: 3.9

08. The Tim Rex Experiment Feat. Veronica “Relentless (Just A Game) (Josh Harris Elektrik Radio)”

Would’ve been tha first official new song on this CD for me, if I would’ve gotten this CD on time! But, as far as my feedback, nice lil’ comeback for Ms. Veronica; gotta luv her! And, JH doin’ a nice job with these catchy beats! Might be tha 1^st time I dig JH, since I been bashin’ his remixes (didn’t like his “When The Broken Hearted Love Again” or “Poison” remixes, as they were really watered down)! But yeah, great collaboration! Can’t wait to play this!! My Current Rating: 4.6

EDIT: And, still, in 2015, I still can instantly remember this song’s label & BPM off tha top of my head, despite tha label only makin’ one appearance in my life, so far! Sneakymood Records, 131 BPM; how ‘bout dat?!?

09. Ray J “One Wish (Maurice Joshua Radio Edit)”

Ehh, not too crazy about it, especially now that MCD got it… Betcha I gon hear it on there 5x a day for months! Ugh!! Music’s on tha soulful dance tip while I wasn’t a fan of these vocals. Like, a lil’ cheesy? Thought he was a freak? My Current Rating: 1.8

10. Jill Criscuolo “My Life (Radio Edit)”

Would’ve been tha 1^st official new artist for this CD I never heard of, before! Added it to my iPod later on, but if I had to leave feedback on it, I have to say, she’s got a great voice and I’m diggin’ this music / these lyrics! To add to this review, in 2008, she and Destined Fate Entertainment, her label, found me on YouTube and really appreciated my support:

 







Shout out to Ms. Criscuolo, born on October 15, 1987, just one year older than me! Wow, she’s only 17, here? Nice discovery, PO; hope she goes far! And, now that I’m older, “This iz my life;” I can do what I want!! My Current Rating: 4.6

11. Daphne Rose “Through The Night (Mr. Mig Radio Edit)”

Really was diggin’ her previous song, “All I Ever Wanted”, with nice heavy rotation from MCD! This sounds nice, too! A lil’ slower, but tha Migtacular beats prove to serve you that quality!! Nice job on tha 2^nd single, Daphne!! Hope it gets out there! C’mon, MCD!! My Current Rating: 4.4

12. Shakira “Don’t Bother (Bermudez & Harris Radio Edit)”

I believe Party 105 has this… Will this have a super amount of exposure? Sounds kinda slow; it’s decent… My Current Rating: 3.2

13. Jenna Drey “Why Should I Believe You (Josh Harris Radio Mix)”

Re-Entry song, lol… Uh oh, JH takin’ a stab at remixin’ a Jenna Drey song!! Originally remixed by Valentin, I thought he would’ve screwed up big time, especially with some rock elements in tha beat! However, you can’t deny that voice! Beats sound great here for a 2^nd mix; definitely a nice way to grow on me, Mr. Harris!! My Current Rating: 4.6

14. Eurythmics “I’ve Got A Life (David Guetta & Joachim Garraud Radio Edit)”

LOL, this? MCD just got this and it remixes me of somethin’ like a girl havin’ cancer or somethin’, on tha vocals… I dunno, I kinda am not feelin’ that MCD has this in heavy rotation. I liked tha Steve Angello remix of “Sweet Dreams 2005” better! This just sounds kinda boring… My Current Rating: 2.6

15. iiO “Kiss You (Bailey Radio Edit)”

Had tha club edit, but it’s good to have tha official radio edit, as well… Original version was kinda on tha Ambient side, but this sounds better. Glad they’re keepin’ up tha dance hits; don’t stop, iiO! My Current Rating: 4.3

16. Kristine W “I’ll Be Your Light (Jack Elliot Radio Edit)”

Iz this tha MCD mix? They don’t list their mix, but I can’t find it… *Rehears* Doesn’t exactly sound like it… I heard that this song stopped her consistency of #1 Billboard hits. Like, it did? At least this got to heavy rotation on MCD, which iz nice for a dance artist! Either way, this still sounds like a nice mix. Okay, just looked online and tha Remix Radio Edit by Jack Elliot & Mac Quayle’s tha MCD mix! Sounds a touch better, this way! My Current Rating: 4.0 (would’ve rated tha JE&MQ mix a 4.4 or somethin’ if it was on here)

17. Scent “Up & Down (Radio Edit)”

LOL, anotha oldie comin’ on here? When I first saw tha tracklist in December of 2005, I was thinkin’, “Are they pushin’ this song again? Would be interestin’ if it got out there even more!” Thanx, Robbins! MCD got this during tha summer of 2004 and it was a catchy song then. Can’t wait to make it re-enter my playlist, as well as make it have my very-first re-entry on one of my year-end countdowns! It was on my ’04 one, but missed my ’05 one; gonna be on my ’06 one, probably! As for tha song, just diggin’ tha catchy vocals and tha regular-soundin’ music makes it a catchy dance tune! My Current Rating: 4.5

18. Benassi Bros. Feat. Dhany “Every Single Day (Radio Edit)”

Dhany on tha vocals, here, and it’s “Benassi Bros.”, really, instead of “Benassi Brothers”. MCD just got this on December 28, 2005 @ 10:21 PM and it sounds HOT! Gonna be a big one fa ’06? Glad they showin’ this one luv and it should be one of those songs that reminds me of figurin’ out where Miguel iz and HOPEFULLY, reconnecting with him! My Current Rating: 4.6

19. Tom Novy Feat. Michael Marshall “Your Body (Original Radio)”

Vocals are done by Michael Marshall, here. Heard this and thought it was okay, but then again, kinda boring. Nothing really special about this House song… My Current Rating: 2.7

20. Cassie Feat. Sassee “Just Friends (Kriya vs. Velez Radio Edit)”

LOL, before she blew up, this song came outta nowhere on MCD, courtesy of 12 Stones Entertainment. Glad a quality version’s on here, since I had to rip it from MCD. Catchy tune, and I’m diggin’ those beats from K&V! Also, nice appearance from Sassee on tha rap! Too bad we ain’t hear from her but on here! My Current Rating: 4.4

21. Ford Feat. Jori “Pure Imagination (Willy Wonka Trance Edit)”

Saw Party 105 got this recently and I heard it on there, recently; what a hot song! Definitely diggin’ these trance beats, courtesy of this great DJ (Ford)! And, tha vocals serve as a nice, mysterious-soundin’ song! Great job, here!! My Current Rating: 4.7

Overall: I thought this was a nice CD to kick off tha year of 2006! Hope these songs do a great job out there! “Faithfully” was my top song on this CD, while “Relentless (Just A Game)” seemed to be my best song I never heard, before!
