THA
DAY HAS COME!! Promo Only Dance Radio
February 2009 iz here!!! I’ve been SOOOO anticipated for it (it seems like
all tha February PODR issues have ALWAYS been real good), and after it takin’ a
while to arrive, it’s now here!!! I’m not gonna waste any time, as I’m gonna
get straight into tha review! I do have a headache, but that’s usually REAL
good luck for tha PO reviews, so I’m gonna
hope it cures it! Here goes my LONG, ANTICIPATED review for Promo Only Dance Radio February 2009!!!
Start Time: 5:00 PM | Video Game Playing: The Legend Of Zelda
– Ocarina Of Time (for Nintendo 64)
1.
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha
4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already.
If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered
“mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0
rating.
To tha artist/producer: Don’t get catchy feelin’s
if I don’t like a song on a first listen. Things could change in tha future as
I could love it, so you neva know!
2.
Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to
tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song
while I’m listening to it.

September “Can’t Get Over (UK
Radio Edit)”
What’s
up wit it startin’ wit this? I was hoping maybe a single of “Until I Die,” or
an unreleased single, but this song comes back, again. PLEASE LET THA Fall 2007
DAYZ JUST BE DEAD ALREADY!! I don’t EVA wanna think about those DISGUSTING
dayz… And it’s like, this was a Mid 2007 song, got released as a single in Fall
2007, and now, it’s back? Why? I know this gon sound like tha original (‘cause
of it bein’ a “UK”
Radio Edit) ‘cause POMR did it wit “Cry For You.” A low AL here… >>> Well, tha intro iz
different, so somethin’ different iz goin’ on here. Tha “new” beat iz nice, but
it could’ve been used for a different song. Tha original sounds better, but
this has better energy in it. Iz this gonna be tha new song to go Pop? My Rating: 3.7
02.
Timmy Vegas & Bad Lay-Dee “Another Dimension (Radio Edit)”
There
are like maybe only 1-3 songs I know on this CD, so that’s where all tha
anticipation will come from me! Lookin’ forward to seein’ what this song has to
offer; nice title BTW! >>> I had a feelin’ it had to do wit remakin’
somethin’. Remakin’ tha Beastie Boys “Intergalatic”, as well as tha beat to
Crystal Waters “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)”. It sounds like some rappin’ in
tha verse; cool. Not bad for a start, although I can see lots of airplay for
this. Yeah, I hear how catchy this gon be for everywhere. Nice change-ups wit
tha music, and tha female on this iz just great! My Rating: 4.1
03.
Electric Allstars Feat. Mia J “Weekend Love (Bellatrax Radio Edit)”
I
don’t remember tha labels most of these songs were signed to. However, I’ll
check that at tha end. I wanna see how I can judge them by just listenin’ to
them. High AL
on this joint ‘cause of tha new DJs, Mia J on her 2nd song, and
Bellatrax appearin’ for tha 3rd time! >>> Hearin’ those
“IDWTP” sounds, and Bellatrax continuing wit tha HOTNESS! Mia sounds a lil’
different (and I can say, better) on this vs. “Drive Out.” Tha chorus iz pretty
catchy, but I like tha music and tha verses tha best on here; great TRIPLE
combo!!! :tu Damn, tha music iz just HOT!! 2009 anthem right here, and I know
tha sources are gonna recognize!! My
Rating: 4.3
04.
Lily Allen “The Fear (StoneBridge Clean Radio Mix)”
I
actually had to get a high quality version from POMR, and on tha MR mp3, it was
listed as “StoneBridge Clean Radio Mix,” but it was tha original, lol. Well,
it’s gonna be a hard competition against this remix, so we’ll see what its got…
>>> It’s off to a good start, but I think I’m gonna like tha original
better. BTW, this iz 1 of 4 HMs on here (YES, JUST 4!!). Good music, but shit,
tha music couldn’t change in tha chorus? It does it in tha original version,
and does a good job! Tha lyrics are great, and it’s a great Pop song. Tha music
in this could’ve switched up a bit (sounds watered down from tha 134 BPM
original), and it was a lil’ repetitive. That gives me tha feelin’ that it’s
gonna get beasted on sources like MCD and shit like that. My Rating: 3.6
05.
An-Ya “Nightlife (Mike Rizzo Global Radio Mix)”
Looks
REAL HOT, so HUGE AL
for this joint right here!! >>> An okay start (hope it gets better). Pretty
nice music, not bad on tha verse, but tha chorus iz what’s hot. Glad it’s a
nice Dance song right here. LOL @ tha “hell with you” parts; like ‘em! :) We’ll
see how this does in tha mainstream Dance world as well. My Rating: 4.0
06.
JJ Flores & Steve Smooth Feat. Colette “Stay (Radio Edit)”
What
could we have here… This looks like it gon be a good mix together… >>>
Sounds like tha beat came in hard. I can see this bein’ a good Dance song. Glad
to hear Colette again. I didn’t recognize where tha chorus was, but I caught
it, and it’s pretty catchy. Pretty nice here so far. Nothin’ else to say on
this one here. My Rating: 3.8
07.
Karoshi Bros. “Love The World (Ingo Star Cruiser Edit)”
Big
question mark in my head, so I’m gonna let tha song play… >>> Uh oh,
looks like a warning for me. What’s wit tha baby vocals? Pretty catchy so far,
but it’s more Pop-Dancey than an actual Dance song. Sorry, but there should be
an age requirement if you gonna be on PO. Ewe,
that title! Who tha hell gon pick up this song? LOL… There are better Pop-Dance
songs out there; this izn’t one. LOL @ tha no “feel good level” for me when
listenin’ to it. My Rating: 1.8
08.
Kristine Elezaj “Always (Davidson Ospina & Oscar P Dance Pop Radio Mix)”
Now
THIS looks REAL HOT again!! I expect
a lot from this!! >>> THIS IZ A
DANCE SOUND!! GREAT comeback sound from DO!! Wow, sexy/GREAT vocals on
this, and what a great combo wit tha music!! Gotta luv her name too. :) As much
as I like this, I have a feelin’ it’s gonna be at tha bottom of my top 3 picks
from this CD; who knows. This CD has a lot of expectations. Well, HUGE COMEBACK
from that No. 7 song on here!! My
Rating: 4.7
EDIT: LOL, PO,
not “Kristene,” but “Kristine.”
09.
The White Tie Affair “Candle (Sick & Tired) (Vicious Club Radio)”
Not
bad HM on MCD (as they have Razor ‘N’ Guido’s mix). I anticipate this mix, as
it’ll prolly be good for PO! >>> I
expected more of a club intro… Pretty mainstreamish intro (a lil’ poppy).
Sounds pretty good though. Not much change throughout tha chorus, unlike how
RNG did. What happened to tha bridge that RNG had on their mix? It sounded like
it just cut to tha 3rd chorus, SMH. Not bad HM here on this mix. My Rating: 3.8
10.
David Tavaré Feat. 2 Elvissa “Hot Summer Night (Radio Edit)”
I
wish it was this right now. :( Even in Louisiana
it’s in tha 30’s! :( It’s 48 degrees out now, but it feels somewhat colder…
This should heat things up… hopefully. >>> Jamaican vocals… Female
also! Yes, sounds good so far! :) Not bad on tha 1st verse, but tha
music and chorus DEFINITELY iz nice! Pretty nice 2nd verse, and I’m
hearin’ a lil’ bridge from tha Jamaican dude… Great mix here. Shit, I knew
there was only gonna be 15 seconds left. :( My Rating: 4.3
½time: Well, pretty good start.
There were some I didn’t go for, but this iz off to a GREAT start! There’s 11
more!!
11.
Cascada “Perfect Day (Digital Dog Remix Edit)”
Good
to see DD after Therese’s “Feelin’ Me,” but it looks like Cascada gon get
watered down again! Please don’t be a bad mix!! >>> Good/anticipating
intro, but could’ve been for someone else. Oh, Cascada’s vocals are slower. :( It
sounds good enough for me to play as a 2nd mix, but not good enough to
beat tha original! I think I’ll play this more than tha original actually. My Rating: 4.1
12.
Dizzee Rascal Feat. Calvin Harris & Chrome “Dance Wiv Me (Jason Nevins Radio
Edit)”
Well,
DR & CH are MCE artists (DR bein’ a UK rapper, and CH bein’ a
producer). Not sure of tha Chrome dude (unless he’s tha rapper I’d WANNA hear
from Memphis, TN). Let’s hear how good/bad/w/e this joint
gon sound like… >>> Not really into tha Rock start in tha beat. There
comes Dizzee, lol. :rofl Not bad on tha verse, even though I felt his verse
better in The BPA Feat. David Byrne
& Dizzee Rascal “Toe Jam”. Are those other vocals CH or Chrome? Not
sure yet. Oh wait, I forgot CH also does vocals, so that has to be him in tha
background. Well, for a rappin’ HM, I did expect better. This was just decent,
and I didn’t hear my TN rapper that I was talkin’ about. My Rating: 3.2
13.
Dianne Wesley “Ecstasy (Twisted Dee Radio Edit)”
HIGHEST AL ON THIS CD!!! HOLY SHIT, I’M FINALLY
GONNA HEAR THIS!!!
Let’s hear what she has for a comeback! Oh, and it’s 6:21 PM right now (my
birthday iz 6-21), so EXTRA LUCK HERE!!! >>> Almost like Scotty K
music in tha beginning. Pretty good start. I would like to hear some other mixes
to this if they release any. Gotta really like those vocals, and tha music goes
pretty nice. I’m just curious to hear other mixes to this ‘cause it deserves to
be REAL good for me! Around 2:10 ish, I hear those male vocals again (just like
wit “I Can’t Wait”). Good, there’s another minute left of this song! Yeah, at
3:35 it sounds REAL NICE! :tu DEFINITELY a turn on song for me. :) My Rating: 4.4
14.
Aurora Feat. Amanda Wilson “Love Resurrection (Radio Edit)”
I
wonder how tha RE sounds, compared to my edit. Looks like tha Mid 2008 imports
that I got are just leakin’ all over tha place! I had “Need In Me” in June ’08,
it leaked in October ’08; “White Horse” in May ’08, leaked in December ’08;
“Gone Dancin’” I had in July ’08; it leaked on PO
in December ’08 for tha January ’09 edition, and now this, I had in July ’08
also, and just leaked on this edition. Thanx to Robbins, AW iz featured on
another label (she’s like touched ‘em all: Ultra, Nervous, Next Plateau, Groove
Factory, and now, Robbins). It’s a biggie, so let’s hear tha official RE!!
>>> A lil’ effect in tha beginning to make it different from mine, and
it’s 7 seconds shorter than my intro. That REAL hot chorus on this right here!
Gotta love it! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it sounds different?
Unless I don’t remember. Tha intermission before tha 2nd verse was a
lil’ shorter than mine too. GREAT music to this!! And yeah, I must say: Good
thing it sorta flopped wit me in Summer 2008 ‘cause if it would’ve had success,
it could’ve had a bad memory (‘cause a lot of tha Summer 2008 songs I had were
just cursed from Alex McConduit and those Crescent City Radio/Big Boot Radio
dayz). Tha ending sounds a lil’ longer than mine, but keeps that hotness; nice
RE! :tu We had like tha same ending wit tha acapella at tha end. My Current Rating: 4.4
15.
Tony Di Bart “The Real Thing (Whelan & DiScala Radio Edit)”
Don’t
know what to expect wit tha dude on here… Got W&DS as tha mixers though!
>>> Sounds like a good/dark W&DS beat… Oh, female vocals!! :tu Now,
I hear tha dude. I guess there’s a featured artist missing… Pretty nice vocals
and music here, along wit tha verse and tha chorus. :tu Shit, that sounded a
lil’ too short. I feel this one right here. My Rating: 4.0
16.
Lesley Roy “Unbeautiful (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”
Another
HM… And another JN mix… What could I expect from an original that’s too rocky?
>>> Okay start, but my God, it just went NUTS at around 1:03!! Great
chorus, and okay verses. Not bad on tha vocals too. A lot better than tha other
JN mix on here. Even tha interlude iz great too! My Rating: 4.2
17.
Rudenko Feat. Kelly Barnes “Everybody (Radio Edit)”
Forgot
what it was, so I’m gonna just listen to it, and then hear tha ID! >>>
LOL @ tha Timbaland & Magoo Feat.
Missy Elliott “Cop That Shit” beat! How unexpected… Sounds like Britney
Spears almost… It’s a decent song, and pretty catchy. Lookin’ forward to seein’
what it iz! Sounds like a HM, but I’m pretty sure it izn’t. It ended… not bad.
Short length, but it felt longer. My
Rating: 3.9
^
*Looks at ID* LOL… Who would’ve guessed? It’s Rudenko Feat. Kelly Barnes “Everybody (Radio Edit)”… I’m gonna
check if this iz Leonid Rudenko
‘cause this iz signed to Nervous (LOL @ tha signin’ on this song). *Checks*
Okay, as corrected towards tha bottom of this review, it’s not Nervous Records,
it’s Ministry Of Sound America. As for if it’s Leonid Rudenko… YES it iz.
18.
Cato K Feat. Kelly D “U Can’t Hold Me Down (Alexander Orue Angel Radio Edit)”
Not
gonna look at tha ID again… Shit, this a lot of fun not lookin’ at tha ID, and
just expectin’ anything!! >>> Better intro on this one… Oh, now I
remember what it iz. It’s tha Cato K & Kelly D song. Pretty nice start,
even though it’s a lil’ slow. Sounds more like a dub mix… Finally, more lyrics…
Well, a lil’ repetitive, and more soundin’ like a dub mix. I wanted more lyrics
(like in their “Feel Better” song), but it’s still a pretty good song to hear. My Rating: 3.5
19.
Filly “Sweat (The Drip Drop Song) (Wideboys House Mix Radio Edit)”
Another
HM… Oh wait, this iz Robbins, then I’m wrong? LOL… I guess it goes 2 wayz here
(as I consider it a HM). Well, since my review for tha original, this song has
been addicting (mainly this mix), and tha original iz just too slow. Wideboys
wit their same “Cascada ‘Faded’” beat that they use, went EXACTLY into this.
Even though a House mix, it would’ve sounded better if tha (forget tha name of
it) “Bassline” version (which iz a lot faster) got out there. Gotta love tha
“fever starts to flow when tha clothes start slippin’.” She’s pretty hot BTW.
LMFAO @ that guy, wit tha “let me see tha sweat on tha record needle.” :rofl
:rofl :rofl Cool vocal effect @ 2:11! My
Current Rating: 3.9
20.
T2 “Butterflies (Radio Edit)”
Fastest
one on here (139 BPM), but I have a feelin’ this ain’t gonna be Dance. This
prolly gonna be like tha “Heartbroken” original, wit a Bassline feel. Let’s
hear it, and if there’s a vocalist, let’s hope it’s someone like Jodie Aysha,
again! >>> Sounds like a different version of Rihanna, and I knew this
was on tha Bassline side… That beat iz just GREAT, even though it don’t be 100%
Danceish. Great beat, and not bad song. My
Rating: 4.0
21.
Malibu Sneakers “Get Down Again (Radio Edit)”
A Ministry Of Sound song… Not sure if I’ll look forward… >>> I had a feelin’ it would sound like a remake, cover, or somethin’ like that. It sounds like The Beatles. I don’t see anything special wit this song, except for a not bad beat. My Rating: 3.0

Overall: End Time: 7:13 PM. Well, more songs
turned out to be okay, rather than bein’ better. There are a good chunk of
GREAT songs on here, so I REALLY look forward to them gettin’ out to all tha
outlets!! Lemme do a label check to see what each song (that I didn’t know) got
signed to…
“Another
Dimension”: Eye Records (good for a different label)
“Weekend
Love”: Nervous signed (had a feelin’)
“Nightlife”:
Papa Joe/EMM Records (good for a different; hope it has tha luck to get around)
“Love
The World”: Next Plateau (after all their REALLY, REALLY HOT songs, this comes?
What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I feel embarassed!!)
“Always”:
Azucar Records (I knew it was a different label. If it gets nowhere, you know I
will show it LOTS of love!!)
“Hot
Summer Night”: Ultra Records (good sign for Ultra)
“The
Real Thing”: Next Plateau (another NP song… Good I guess)
“Everybody”:
Ministry Of Sound America (oh, this was a MOS song; my bad for thinkin’
Nervous)

And overall, “Always” was my favorite song on this CD! It DEFINITELY deserved
it for comin’ through STRONG!!!
