FrankieThaLuckyDog
here, and not too anticipated for this month’s Promo Only Dance Radio edition.
:( Last year, for tha April CD, it was REAL HOT Dance songs that had my
addiction HIGH for like 3 months straight. This month, ???, I’m not even gonna
go there. Here goes my unanticipated review for Promo Only Dance Radio April 2009. Remember, since Nu$$ie died, it
feels like it affected PO, since this CD iz SO
unanticipating!! :td This iz tha 1st time a PO CD gon have an average CD rating from me, so it betta
be prepared!! Start Time: 5:39 PM | Video Game Playing: Donkey Kong Country
3 (for Super Nintendo)
1.
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha
4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already.
If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered
“mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0
rating.
To tha artist/producer: Don’t get catchy feelin’s
if I don’t like a song on a first listen. Things could change in tha future as
I could love it, so you neva know!
2.
Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to
tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song
while I’m listening to it.

01.
Guru Josh Project “Infinity 2008 (Klaas Radio Edit)”
I
heard that this was old… Iz this gon be one of those songs that’s a cover of an
old ‘80s song or somethin’ like that? Lemme find out! >>> Oh yes, not
only did I have a feelin’ this was old, but I KNOW it… It was in a MCE mix from
Josh The Funky 1. I remember that music as it was in a random 2004 song from Colours Feat. Domino “Hold Me And Kiss Me”.
I LUV that sample, and it sounds like these vocals go good here. Tha MCE mix
only had tha trumpet music; that’s it. Tha music iz BANGIN’ outside tha trumpet
sample, and it’s catchy/different for me, so that’s watz good. This will be one
of tha few good songs on here. My
Rating: 3.9
02.
Ciara Feat. Justin Timberlake “Love, Sex, Magic (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 1: They forgot tha commas in
tha title. Looks like I’m ‘bout to embrace myself for some bullshit…
>>> Wow, not lookin’ forward to this hittin’ MCD or places like that.
Maybe can be considered better than tha original, but useless to be on this CD.
It sounds like Discoish music? :? Thanx, I’m quite bored now. My Rating: 2.9
03.
The Killers “Spaceman (Bimbo Jones Radio Mix)”
ID Error No. 2: They forgot tha The in
their name. Anyway, its got a long length, and wit BJ on tha mix, could be
good/bad/boring for me… >>> Interesting lyrics. BJ wit 130 BPM gives
me AL for some reason… The Killers always have long HMs for some reason… It’s
okay throughout; I can deal wit a HM like this. Odd/okay chorus, and now, it
feels long… This iz like a 1st for BJ; they neva have long HMs
(usually, their mixes iz like 3 minutes long). My Rating: 3.6
04.
Leonid Rudenko Feat. Daniella “Summerfish 2009 (Wendel Kos
Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 3: They have Wendel spelled
Wendal, smh. :? Anyway, I can only
imagine what I want to hear from this… You know Rudenko has his “Everybody”
joint out now (from PODR2/09) that’s BANGIN’, so I don’t know why we need to
resurrect 2000-gay-ass-7 again. :td >>> Sounds like deadmau5 style in
tha beat… They did somethin’ to Daniella’s vocals here (oh, and they didn’t
source her in 2007, but now, after “Every Word”, they do). Iz everyone obsessed
wit watering down great, original songs? This was originally higher than 125
BPM. If resurrected, please make 135+ BPM at least. This ain’t even CLOSE to
tha original, and kinda sucks ass… Bad mix, and it’s sad to see WK be tha
remixer since he had a GREAT job on “Every Word”. My Rating: 2.1
05.
Jennifer Hudson “If This Isn’t Love (StoneBridge Radio Edit)”
Fa
real? Watch it absorb me ‘cause of SB. >>> Sorry, didn’t catch me like
I thought it would. I always anticipate a SB mix, but he gon have to try REAL,
REAL HARD if he wants me to cosign a mix/song like this. Nothin’ interesting in
this song, just like my anticipation for this CD. Not for me, and I don’t feel
it growing. My Rating: 3.1
06.
Erika Jayne “Give You Everything (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Radio Edit)”
One
of tha few songs I’m really lookin’ forward to since I really like her, and
Mike Rizzo on tha beat should be CRAZY!!! >>> Good, it’s 3:57. Great
music, and I always anticipate any way she makes songs. :tu Great 1st
verse, and tha chorus makes it sounds hot. Hell yeah, this iz a banger for this
CD, unlike all tha boring shit I was just listenin’ to. Tha 2nd
verse was good too. :tu I like that lil’ bridge in this, and I feel like
fiendin’ for playin’ it! :) It’ll be on my sources within weeks so that’ll be
good! Keep makin’ that music, Erika! :) My
Rating: 4.2
07.
Utah Saints
“Something Good 2009 (Radio Edit)”
Very
low AL on tha
2009 version. :td >>> Sorry, but I hate those vocals/vocal sample!!
:td I don’t know why… Maybe I was just sick of hearin’ tha 1992 version on MCE.
What’s wit tha fast-paced music? Did we really need to bring this back? I mean,
it’s not tha worse on this CD; at least tha music iz pretty good. LOL @ this
bein’ a House mix. My Rating: 2.5
08.
Andrea Carnell “Not The One (Nick Terranova Radio Edit)”
One
of my most anticipated ones on here too!! A higher BPM (132), and wit
Starkillers on tha beat (a.k.a. NT), this should be a REAL HOT female!!!
>>> Oh yes, a long length too (4:26)!! Nice start, although I expected
better vocals here (sounds like Kelis BTW). I don’t know how much interest I’ll
have in this, even though I want to. Tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ a
lil’ better wit tha “I give you candy…,” even though a lil’ childish? LOL @ tha
“crap” and “stupid boy” parts in tha bridge. If no one plays this, I’ll prolly
show it luv. Maybe a good song for tha car, on a long day. Either way, didn’t
meet my expectations, but became not bad. My
Rating: 3.7
09.
Martina McBride “Ride (Lenny B Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 4: They forgot to capitalize
tha B in her name. Anyway, Country song, again? I have AL for it. I heard that she supports tha gay
community, so I’m guessin’ this iz why this iz on here? Lenny B prolly gon
easily capture my attention wit tha music too… >>> Lenny B and tha
Country, lol! Of course, tha music iz BANGIN’, although I might have to get
used to those vocals. LeAnn and Taylor Swift sounded good. Actually, at tha end
of tha chorus, she sounded good. Tha chorus iz kinda catchy, and I can deal wit
this. Somethin’ tells me this gon be a big one on Dance sources? My Rating: 3.7
10.
Utada “Come Back To Me (Seamus Haji Radio Edit)”
Tha
SEXY JAPANESE GIRL IZ BACK!!! GLAD THERE’S A REMIX!!! >>> Sounds a
lil’ watered down, but sounds like it’ll be anotha GREAT Dance source song!! Tha
music sounds better in tha chorus, and yeah, this a great one here!! I wish
mainstream sources would pay attention more to tha original version! I mean,
she’s on Island Def Jam Music Group. No Urban or Pop stations wanna take focus?
C’mon now… Tha 2nd verse starts off great too! At least she
“admitted she cheated” unlike people that keep it in tha closet! You know I luv
that bridge, and it works out GREAT for this remix!! REAL GREAT REMIX!! Oh, and
GREAT fade-out on tha ending!! My
Rating: 4.3
½time: Wow, prolly tha WORST
½time EVA (and you thought tha last PO was
bad)!! Tha average rating for this CD iz 3.4; WTF? That’s not even decent (3.5 to be
decent)!! Tha last CD I reviewed (which was Young Ready, an underground, Baton Rouge rapper)’s
average CD rating at ½time was a record setting 4.8 ‘cause of how GREAT it was!!! He
didn’t change his style (in fact, it sounded BETTER); PO
likes to decrease their sounding! :td How will this average rating change later
on?
11.
Ron Reeser & Dan Saenz Feat. Myah “Everything (Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 5: “Everything Is Changing”?
Really? Just “Everything”! My boy Al said this gon be a GREAT song; lemme find
out!! >>> Sounds like a kick-ass beat (somethin’ like deadmau5 or
Inpetto). Those vocals are great and sexy; you gon see me likin’ this, as long
as that music stays NICE and HIGH! :tu Tha 2nd verse had some HOT
lyrics in it; great shit here!! :tu Tha bridge sounds nice too; GREAT Dance
song here. I wanna see how much I’ll spin it on my playlist/computer. How will
this do wit exposure? My Rating: 4.2
12.
Lenny B Feat. NJ “Turn Up The Radio (Disco House Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 6: Disco House Radio Edit,
not just “Radio Edit”, as there’s an original version! Finally got signed (and
no less not on Lenny B’s label, but on Next Plateau)!! It says tha BPM iz 128,
and it’s a lil’ longer than what Radio Edit I had… Did somethin’ change in it?
BTW, if this gets released, this song will break tha record for number of year-end
countdowns it made wit me (it made my 2007 YEC, 2008 YEC, and will it make my
2009 one?)! Lemme give it tha review now! >>> Huh? A change in tha
beat? Should be considered an error in tha mix!! Tha one on his MySpace sounded
A LOT BETTER wit tha beat!! What’s this soul type of beat? Shit, …sounds like
Maurice Joshua on tha mix instead. :td Tha original mix was a decent Dance
song, but this mix (w/e it iz; re-mastered or what?) sounds shitty. She has
pretty nice vocals, and makes tha song good though. Why do I have to be
disappointed so much when I thought I was gonna have an advantage wit this CD
for a song I knew! Anotha 2007
resurrected song for a bad mix. It iz Lenny B no less on tha mix ‘cause of his
sound effects. My Rating: 2007 Mix: 4.3 | This Mix: 2.3
13.
Britney Spears “If U Seek Amy (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Radio Edit)”
No
content warnings on this WHOLE CD. However, look at tha title: I f U See k A-my <- F-U-C-K me? But
yet, damn or hell gets tha ear on PO. :? You
know PO LUVS tha Pop/R&B artists for random mixes, ESPECIALLY drawin’ MR to
my eyes & ears! Ugh, PO… >>> *Sarcastic
voice* Oh, so poppy on tha intro! Yay!! Yeah, right. Oh yeah, if you listen in
tha background around tha 1:06 part, there’s a guy in tha background sayin,
“fuck me! Fuck me!” What happened to tha No. 13 song on PO?
It usually iz a BIG ONE like “Wild Ride”, “I Will Wait,” Dianne Wesley’s
“Ecstasy”, or “True Believer,” but now, this? You KNOW this edition SUCKS if this iz tha case!!! I didn’t even know
what tha fuck that chorus was until I heard about tha “fuck me” thing. BTW, if
anyone types in “F-U-C-K Me” in Wikipedia, this song comes up!! Well, this
AIN’T MR’s sound, so down tha drain it goes!! My Rating: 2.4
14.
India.Arie Feat. Gramps Morgan “Therapy (Lenny B Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 7: Featured artist not listed; it’s Gramps Morgan. Random R&B singer on here… Oh yeah, it’s PO, no wonder!! And they have to have Lenny B on tha mix to force me to like it too! Well, we’ll give it a shot; why not! >>> Forgot tha BPM was smaller (124). Reminds me almost of Donna Summer “Stamp Your Feet” wit tha music. Wow, tha music got great (see what I’m talkin’ about). Who iz tha guy in tha background in tha intro? Well, I don’t know if this iz better than tha other Lenny B mix. Lyrics are good, even though tha vocals aren’t meant for Dance music. It’s gettin’ too slow for me now… I think I like it less than tha other mix now. My Rating: 3.5

15.
V Factory “Love Struck (Dave Audé Radio Edit)”
I
like tha original. Hoping to have a good remix (c’mon, please)!! >>> Okay
start, but now that I hear tha chorus (which I liked tha chorus), tha music
ain’t NOTHING!! :td I have nothin’ really to say; it sounded more anticipating
hearin’ tha original version. My Rating:
3.0
16.
Gathania “Blame It On You (Radio Mix)”
Not
knowin’ what to expect, but thank God we’re back to Dance songs!! >>> MUCH
BETTER, and it sounds like a Robbins Entertainment/September type of song. Decent
music throughout tha verses, but it gets you real anticipated for tha chorus!
That chorus iz DEFINITELY watz up (as far as this CD goes)!! It should be a
pretty big song around tha Dance world! Great vocals as well!! My Rating: 4.2
17.
Ariel “The Winner Takes It All (Radio Edit)”
And
I BET YA ANYTHING that’s Ariel (tha winner of this WHOLE CD)!! As SHITTY as
this CD has been, PO throws in prolly
somethin’ SO MINDBLOWIN’ to make me REAL happy!! They prolly wanted to
fluctuate my ratings so much so they can look good, smh. Well, an EXTREME
amount of AL
for this song, and I have a feelin’ it gon be a cover of tha ABBA song
(wouldn’t’ve known that if it wasn’t for tha party I went to in NYC 2 weeks
ago)!! >>> Well, tha intro music IZ tha ABBA music, so we’ll see what
we got here… It looks like tha verse iz slow without any BPMs. Oh, here they
come! HOLY SHIT, GREATNESS!!!!! If MCD picks this up, I’ll prolly shit my pants
x amount of times they play it!! If they can get “Goodnight Tonight”, they
might be able to get this cover!! That chorus and vocals/beat iz just
CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! Easy jackpot right here!! It’s like tha resurrection of
“Goodnight Tonight” here wit tha long length, BANGIN’ music, and GREAT
vocals!!! I like how NONE of tha lyrics are repeated; GREAT song to pick!! As much
as I FUCKIN’ LUV underground, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Rap music, I luv this tha
same!! Nobody wants to really play both types, so I’m tha only one showin’ tha
MOST LUV!!! And REAL GREAT last minute of tha song!! Real cold/unexpected
ending too; PLEASE SOMEONE PICK THIS UP OR ELSE YOU A REAL BAD LOOK FOR
YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!! Now, this iz more of tha type of Dance music we need,
unlike all that low BPM shit. This iz HOW you make a cover, ESPECIALLY wit tha
BPM and Vocal Trance sound!!! Oh, and thanx for bringin’ back Dee Robert’s
label, Oh Music, ‘cause I haven’t seen it on PO in a WHOPPING 5 years!!! My Rating: 4.9
18.
Those Usual Suspects Feat. Abigail Bailey “Shadows (Inpetto Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 8: Featured artist not
listed; it’s Abigail Bailey. What will I expect here? Better be a good Inpetto
mix too! >>> Hearin’ tha beginning, and it sounds like some good Dance
music (heard tha female vocal in tha first second)! GREAT build-up before tha
verse started!! Well, tha verse was good, but that chorus iz GREAT!! Very
emotional vocals here, which makes this a good quality Dance track!! My Rating: 4.0
19.
Nicola Fasano vs. Pat-Rich “76, Ocean
Drive (Apache Vocal Radio Mix)”
Now,
we’re at a different address, lol! Who would’ve thought tha vocal version of
tha otha song would be BIG! >>> Sounds like tha “75” sounds in tha
beginning. Oh, now this sounds like some Disco music… I like when tha music
goes down. I’m glad there’s not a lot of vocals on this joint (LOL @ tha
“vocal” in tha mix name)! All tha music changin’ sounds good too. LOL @ vocals
FINALLY at like 2:00 in! :rofl Non-English vocals gives me tha LOL. Really
feelin’ all tha music shifts in this one. My
Rating: 4.1
20.
Rod Carrillo & Ronnie Sumrall “Moonshine Rising (Albert Castillo Radio
Edit)”
AC
= A part of Mynt. Glad to see him remix a song again, as well as RC comin’ wit
anotha joint. I wonder how this one gon sound? High AL! >>> KICK-ASS MUSIC!!!!! Tha
vocals are okay, but they work for a song like this; interesting here. FYI: RS
might be a drag queen? On tha last single they released together, “Save Me”
(PODR5/08), it SO looked like a girl? IDK… Tha song continues to stay good. My Rating: 4.2
21.
Madcon “Beggin’ (Promo Only Clean Radio Edit)”
I
know this iz Dance Radio, but… Congratulations! This iz my favorite Rap song (not from tha South) of 2009!!
LOL, Rap? I thought this was PODR… You know a song ain’t Dance when tha mix
name iz Promo Only Clean Radio Edit instead of Radio Edit. They put this on
here ‘cause of tha 129 BPM and tha Next Plateau signin’ (NP signed ‘cause this
an oldie from tha UK; NP rarely signs Urban artists ‘cause Nina Sky tha only NP
Urban artist I saw signed). Somethin’ about tha song I just LUV!! Tha sample in
tha chorus iz tha SAME sample used in my favorite Rap song (not from tha South)
of 2004; J-Bone “Watch Me” (underground, Connecticut
song only played once on tha radio). W/E that sample iz, it’s REAL GREAT!! It’s
different from any Rap song out, and should get MORE EXPOSURE!!! It’s so odd of
a song to come out; that’s prolly why I luv it. And it’s rare sometimes that an
Alternative Rap song comes out, and I luv it. Sounds like The Roots wit tha
rappin’, and just a GREAT chorus!! My
Current Rating: 4.8
Overall: End Time: 7:59 PM. Well, one of tha
worst POs, but it picked up towards tha end. Just because of tha last song,
it’s not tha same average rating from tha last PO,
statistically (even though I think this edition was TERRIBLE wit all tha 2.0
rated songs)!! Really, it’s like PO died wit
Nu$$ie… Can they just find REAL GOOD Dance songs, and not a small amount of
‘em??
