FrankieThaLuckyDog
here… Happy 69th birthday to Grandpa Piggy today! :) Speaking of him
and his birthday, anotha PO review fell on his
birthday, lol (tha 2006 one, HUGE CLASSIC, I reviewed on his birthday)! I’m
anticipated, especially since I’m gonna be 21 this June (June 21), so here goes
my review fa Promo Only Dance Radio June
2009! Start Time: 7:16 PM | End Time: 9:06 PM
1.
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0
ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at
least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered
“mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0
rating.
To tha artist/producer: Don’t get catchy feelin’s
if I don’t like a song on a first listen. Things could change in tha future as
I could love it, so you neva know!
2.
Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to
tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song
while I’m listening to it.

01.
Lady GaGa “LoveGame (Dave Audé Radio Edit)”
This
startin’ it off… What can I say? I don’t like how she says tha “I wanna take a
ride on your disco stick” part (as well as hearin’ it). :td >>> LOL,
just came BLASTIN’ out my laptop (I don’t have my laptop hooked up to my radio
to hear it better ‘cause I been doin’ reviews like this down here on Long Island, and I wanna see what it sounds like). There’s
hot music from DA on this one (sounds better than tha “PF” remix). :tu I had a
club mix a while back, and now, tha RE iz here. I prefer tha verses ova tha
chorus; not much to tha chorus. LOL @ tha “hands on your cock” part; random. :?
Ewe, it ended wit that “disco stick” part!! My Rating: 3.7
02.
Katy Perry “Waking Up In Vegas (Manhattan
Clique Radio Edit)”
Needed
a remix to this ‘cause I couldn’t deal wit tha Rock instruments when tryin’ to
IC tha original version. And wit Manhattan Clique makin’ a comeback, I wanna
check it out! >>> I like when she says “baby” at :54. It sounds okay
so far, and tha music sounds like it could be special in tha chorus since it went
quiet? LOL, a beat at 1:12… Ah, a lil’ better music, but they sounded a lot
better when they remixed Erasure’s song (forgot what it was called) from around
2003 that MTV2 played during their “Dance Monster Mix”! I didn’t say much about
this, and I thought tha GaGa mix that I just heard was better, lol. My Rating: 3.5
03.
Lasgo “Gone (Radio Edit)”
Tha
fastest one on here… Will it surprise me? I have a feelin’ I’ll like it more
than “OOMM”! >>> A good 1st verse here… Still kinda unable
to say somethin’ right now. Tha chorus iz okay, and tha music can be good,
although it needs more to go on with it. Tha 2nd verse was good too.
It sounds like tha beat wants to stick wit me, lol. My Rating: 3.8
04.
Sophia May “Another Day (Sunfreakz Radio Edit)”
Let’s
see if this one’s betta than Lasgo’s new song… High AL for it! >>> Good start here.
Nice switch-up on tha style fa tha Sunfreakz! Wow, only like 30 seconds in, and
tha chorus already came! It sounds hot, so thumbs up! :tu MCD I think are
IC’in’ this right now, so they’ll prolly have it soon. Might be a mainstream
Dance ear-catcher! Since tha chorus repeated a 3rd time before this
song ended (well actually, it only repeated a ½ time), I figured this song was
real short. Good song though. My Rating:
4.0
05.
Kathy Phillips “If This Is Love (Deziak Radio Edit)”
An
iPR ear-catcher already! BTW, I was gonna announce at tha end of tha last PO
review that I KNEW this song was
gonna be on PO sooner or later ‘cause it’s
signed to Next Plateau! And look, PO got it!
Let’s hear what she came back with, and that it’s catching iPR’s ears!
>>> I expected better, but still sounds good to hear her again. Tha
chorus iz pretty good. I don’t know why I can’t get in tha mood to say much to
these songs right now… Cool music at 2:41. Gonna tie it wit Lasgo, although
this one iz prolly better. My Rating: 3.8
06.
MSTRSS Feat. Deborah Lee “In Danger (Radio Edit)”
Clueless
of what to say… >>> Nice start wit a different female vocalist on tha
scene! Tha music iz good, and better than most of tha other tracks on here. Tha
chorus sounded kinda short? Didn’t hear tha title in it or nothin’. Good
“danger” parts around tha start of tha 2:00 mark. Anotha song that sounded
kinda short. Sounds like a catchy, mainstream Dance song! My Rating: 3.9
07.
D.H.T. Feat. Edmee “You Touch (Merayh Radio Remix)”
Not
a Robbins song (it says “Impart” as tha label). Only 128 BPM (I think; EDIT: It 130)? Hope they’re not watered
down fa a comeback!! >>> Inpettoish music here (no offense, iz
everyone jackin’ Inpetto’s style?)… Feelin’ tha music, and tha chorus sounds
pretty good. I feel that tha 2nd verse sounds good. Anotha great
song here, although still not enough to crack tha 4.0+ rating range wit me… My Rating: 3.9
08.
Doman & Gooding Feat. Dru & Lincoln “Runnin’ (Radio Edit)”
ID Error No. 1. Lincoln also in tha feature. Anyway, three
letters: LOL! This a MCD song (tha song samples Armand Van Helden Feat. Duane Harden “You Don’t Know Me” from a
touch over a decade ago). I thought this song was quite random to be on here.
Lemme see what I say fa tha review… >>> It’s like Urban music meets Dance
music, lol. Tha vocals nearly gimme a Duane Harden feel like tha old song. I
think tha song iz sampled great in this. Tha chorus sounds nice. I wonder how
many mainstream Dance outlets will do wit this one? I wonder how it’ll do wit
me? My Rating: 3.8
09.
3BE Feat. Kelly Barnes “Rewind (Karmatronic Radio Edit)”
Tha
2nd different artist(s) I’ve seen signed to Sylvia Tosun’s Sea To Sun Recordings… Hopefully some
uplifting Dance music! >>> Sounds like an Ambientish style. LOL @ tha
“skidded off” wit tha “brake” line. Tha vocals almost remind me of Dee Robert? Catchy
song here wit a great mix of shit goin’ on. :tu Feelin’ tha “needle” / “volcano
erupted” lines! Tha vocals feel so strong! Because of tha “needle” part, iz
this about HIV or someone dyin’ from somethin’ like it? I like it. My Rating: 4.0
10.
La Roux “In For The Kill (Dean Coleman & Nima Nas Radio Edit)”
Tha
artist we bashed on tha last CD for tha “Quicksand” song, so let’s see (wit
Dance remixers) if they can last this time… Low AL. >>> They sound
catchier on a song like this, although ??? about what’s goin’ on here. Tha
chorus turned out pretty catchy. Just like wit tha 1st verse, my
head iz in “???” clouds wit tha 2nd verse. My Rating: 3.6
11.
BoA Feat. Sean Garrett “I Did It For Love (DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious Radio
Edit)”
P105
got (not sure if they have tha Dance version ‘cause they got it a few weeks
ago), but MCD picked up tha Dance version (this mix). Let’s see what she’s got
fa a new song… >>> Okay start. Tha music almost reminds me of tha
DJE&JV mix of her “Eat You Up” song. Even wit her repeatin’ tha title after
tha chorus iz “EYU” style. Oh, that male vocalist on tha 2nd verse.
I don’t recognize tha voice easily, but according to when I read about it
online, I’m sure that’s R&B singer Sean
Garrett; ID Error No. 2. This iz
a catchy song, so I’ll give it my thumbs up; gotta feel it when she says tha
title! Great build-up in tha music during tha end of that bridge! My Rating: 3.8
½time: Well, okay/equal start.
Like, most of my ratings fall under a short range (currently, tha lowest iz 3.5
while tha highest iz sadly just a 4.0). Hope for sum excitement towards tha
end! Average CD rating currently: 3.8
EDIT: Shit, I feel like I’m
boiling! Wit me gettin’ hotter, hopefully tha CD does!!
12.
Jada “American Cowboy (Funk Generation Radio Mix)”
Tha
next Lady GaGa, lol; only it’s a group. Tha original version sounds like GaGa
(‘cause of its RedOne production). Not an original version I’ll IC, so we’ll
see if Mike Rizzo did some magic to this! >>> Surprisingly, sounds tha
best so far outta all tha songs (no song caught on like this). At 1:00, when
she goes “A-A-A-A-A…,” it reminds me of tha “P-P-P-Poker face” part from GaGa.
Anyway, tha verses sound pretty good, and that music iz so on tha FG mix of
Akon/Colby/Kardinal’s “Beautiful”; thumbs up! :tu That chorus just sounds hot.
:tu My Rating: 4.4
13.
The Pussycat Dolls “Hush Hush (Dave Audé Radio Edit)”
No
preview. >>> Not sure if this tha MCD mix (‘cause they don’t even list
a mix). Nah, I don’t think it’s tha same mix (now that I’m hearin’ tha chorus).
If tha last song was a slow song, I don’t know why they went wit anotha slow
song already. I don’t think it’ll enter my playlist… It’s decent. Huh, a “I
Will Survive” part at 2:57, lol? LOL, tha “IWS” part continued, along wit that
discoish music towards tha end. My
Rating: 3.6
14.
Serge Devant Feat. Hadley “Addicted (Radio Edit)”
Anotha
person watered down to 128 BPM? Paul Van Dyk’s 5 songs away, and he’s been
watered down (I think). I don’t know if bad or not (‘cause I liked SD’s
“Surround U” song, which was faster). Let’s see… >>> Female on tha
vocals this time. LOL @ tha “gotta get you outta my head” parts; they came
outta nowhere! Kinda dry for tha music this time around… Tha chorus iz okay,
but could really have a better beat. Anotha song on this CD I have like barely
any feedback for. :( My Rating: 3.5
15.
LoveShy “The Boy Is Mine (Albert Castillo Radio Mix)”
Can
tell it’s a cover of tha Brandy & Monica song from ’98. I didn’t wanna say
it right away when “GLFY” came out on PODR9/08, but LS broke up before “GLFY”
hit that PO; I thought it was sad to see that, especially since tha song did
NICE wit MCD and I. Now, let’s hear anotha cover wit them disbanded, as well as
tha HOT sounds (yea, a BETTER beat this time, lol) from AC on tha mix!! I think
this my highest AL!
>>> Yup, GOOD beat and tha right cover song! They STILL sound GREAT on
tha vocals, chorus, and verses!! :tu My
Rating: 4.3
16.
Clubworxx & Jerry Ropero Feat. Mr. Mike “Put Your Hands Up In The Air
(Radio Edit)”
3:18
on tha length (my boy BluBlack’s birthday)! Shout out to Blu, although I have
an odd AL for
this one. I hope it’s not a cover up to that (not sure if it was Dance) “put
your hands up in tha air, put your hands up, in tha air” song… It’s Nervous
Records, so it has to be original! >>> Shit, I’m tha right person,
lol. It’s that “PYHUITA” vocal I was talkin’ about! I don’t know, it just
reminded me of old P105 dayz ‘cause on one of their “buttons” before goin’ back
into tha music (back in like 2001), they had that “PYHUITA” part play a lil’. I
guess this went to a House style, and now, at around tha 1:15 part, there’s a
lil’ bit of a nice synth goin’ on here. Not much to go on about while tha song
ends… My Rating: 3.6
17.
Novaspace “Dancing Into Danger (Maddox Calder Radio Edit)”
I
like tha BPM (132), and it looks like a comeback fa them. I wonder what it’ll
sound like (new music on iPR)? >>> Sounds like Klaas a lil’ on tha mix
in tha intro. Feelin’ tha vocals, and effect while tha chorus ended. Yeah, this
iz a lot like Klaas on tha mix. Iz Maddox Calder related? I like tha beat
towards tha end of tha song (last like 35 seconds). I thought I would like this
better… I noticed, there’s no new/underrated labels on this PO.
My Rating: 3.7
EDIT: Actually, Calder’s my
boy, Will Calder, from iPR, not related to Maddox!
18.
Wynonna “Sing (Jody Den Broeder Radio Edit)”
A
lil’ comeback, yet on tha blog, it said this mix was a lil’ longer (this iz
listed as 4:15, while it was like 30 seconds longer [unless tha blog made an
error or this mix iz shorter?]). Let’s hear her comeback wit JDB on tha mix…
>>> Not bad fa a start. I don’t know who’ll get this as far as my
sources. LOL @ tha “sing” parts in tha hook. :tu Now, I just am feelin’ tha
chorus wit all those “siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing”s!! Although good, it not as
close as tha “I Wanna Know What Love Is” song from ’04 (wit Piper on tha mix). My Rating: 4.1
19.
Paul Van Dyk “For An Angel 2009 (Spencer & Hill Radio Edit)”
More
watered downness (128 BPM), no less switchin’ to Ultra (from Mute)… I heard an
Inpetto mix on MCD, and it was no vocals. Will this have no vocals?
>>> Yup, no vocals (except tha “angel” part). I guess pretty
interesting. I don’t know about tha beat fa a no vocal song… This should’ve
been made into Trance (if there’s no original 2009 version). I can’t believe
tha “Haunted” song was barely anywhere. And right before MCD and MCE
combined, they got rid of “Haunted” and “Broken Pieces” from JC vs. F&L, so
I don’t think I’ll hear those songs on there again. My Rating: 3.0
20.
Ameerah “The Sound Of Missing You (Radio Mix)”
If
this iz a boring song, I’m gonna get upset. This PO
iz just not exciting enough! Lookin’ forward (hopefully) to tha new Robbins
song! >>> Great vocals, and tha beat so far iz not doin’ it for me. At
about :53, it kicked in, and got better. This sounds like a sad song… Okay,
feelin’ it better than most of tha shit on this CD. Like that music on tha
bridge; good shit. Real catchy vocals here wit a real catchy song! My Rating: 4.2
21.
Sharam Feat. Kid Cudi “She Came Along (Ecstacy Of Radio Edit)”
Iz
KC tha new rapper fa Dance music? LOL… What kinda collaboration iz this???
>>> Blues sample? LOL… That’s Patsy Cline if I’m not mistaken, lol. Catchy
beat wit tha “strange” vocal in tha background. Nice rappin’ fa tha 1st
verse. Who would’ve thought this would be coming, lol? I like tha 2nd
verse too. Havin’ a sample in tha chorus like that reminds me of certain Rap
music out now, and they did it wit a Dance song now, lol! My Rating: 4.0
22.
Tristan Garner vs. Crystal Waters “Gypsy Woman 2009 (Radio Edit)”
LOL…
They brought this song back? *Thinks “Another Dimension”* And it’s TG too… MCD
just got this, but I couldn’t judge fast, so lemme judge now. >>> I
like how he’s doin’ tha beat on tha “la da de, la da da” part. :tu Really, what
was tha point of this? Kinda weird, somewhat pointless, and also short. My Rating: 3.5
Overall: Quite a boring PO fa me. I can’t believe my #1 pick was “American
Cowboy”… LOL? And only a 4.4 rating, so that was tha lowest #1 rating. Other
than that, I see every song gettin’ released because of all tha mainstream
labels, no mysterious labels, and that each song sounded perfect fa tha Dance
mainstream scene.
