My
1st review of 2012…: Promo Only: Dance Radio January 2012.
Made it a surprise to not look at tha tracklisting ‘til now; hope we start tha
year off real good!! Start Time: 7:20 PM | End Time: 9:38 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01.
Rihanna “You Da One (Dave Audé Radio Edit)”
Damn,
startin’ tha year off wit a HM? Hope that doesn’t jinx tha year into somethin’
negative (last year, “Hello” started tha year off, but at least it was a dance
song, which 2011 wound up bein’ real good for me (EDIT: It wound up bein’ one of my worst years))… >>> Off
to a boring start, and a lil’ odd wit tha Rihanna flow, here… Not too much of a
good combo between Rihanna & DA; “S&M” seemed like a much better combo
wit lots of catchiness! …Okay, I’m kinda
likin’ tha chorus a lil’, now… Damn, finally, a nice music change at 3:13? What
iz this, “Lost It All”, lol? My Rating: 3.5
02.
Lady GaGa “Marry The Night (Danny Verde Radio Remix)”
Anotha
HM… Prolly’ll get this version since I get lazy to get original versions of semi-good,
non-dance songs… Same mixer as “Yummy Boyz”, so I’m kinda lookin’ forward… >>> Interestin’, hot music goin’ on
here for a HM, unlike most of Rihanna’s mix! Tha original iz pretty good for
its 131 BPM, and this helps it become a better song for me. Definitely a hot
chorus goin’ on here; really addicted to this music, right now… Now, MCD: PLEASE
get rid of “Born This Way” & “The Edge Of Glory”!!! They’re really old,
and she’s got this, now!! My Rating: 4.3
03.
David Puentez Feat. Andrea Rosario “Lose Control”
Looks
like a hot combo! Tha dude that had tha good instrumental from tha 8/11 CD
(“Melodrama”) and tha hot/strong vocalist of “We Own The Night” join together
for… >>> LOL, speakin’ of that instrumental, guess it’s got vocals,
now? I somewhat had a feelin’ this was gonna happen once I realized who tha
main artist was… Ooh, hot vocals; definitely needed some vocals ‘cause tha
original barely did good wit me! I think I played tha original about 5x, and
had to curve it to about 20-25 spins or somethin’, just to look good. LOL, I
thought this was gonna be a song wit lots of lyrics. But, unlike people like
Pitbull (lol), this iz at least made into a house song, now, wit nothin’ but
tight beats and choruses! May be #3 on tha tracklist but for bein’ tha 1st
dance song of 2012 on this PO iz definitely what’s up!! My Rating: 4.5
04.
Kim Sozzi “Crystallized”
Yes,
another dance song and another hot dance artist!! >>> Hot, smooth,
semi-slow/regular pace start wit tha music! BTW, speakin’ of KS, I was fixin’
up my files from tha past, recently, and I thought deadmau5 produced “Feel Your
Love”. But, it was Stellar Project a.k.a. Stefano Sorrentino; thought I’d throw
that fact out there since this seems to be produced by a tight producer, too.
Anyway, this definitely iz pretty hot! Really likin’ how this sounds, all tha
way through! What was her last so—oh yea, “Little Bird” (a remake); this iz
much better! Glad we’re off to a really good 2012, based off this CD!! Really
likin’ tha verses a lot, here, ‘cause mainly, that tight music iz continuin’
and continuin’! My Rating: 4.5
05.
Plumb with Dan Haseltine “Drifting (Mixin’ Marc & Tony Svejda Radio Mix)”
Looks
like another hot combo (Plumb & MM&TS on tha mix), but as a duet, too?
Another anticipatin’ thing about this CD iz I haven’t seen anyone add anything
recently, so I don’t know many of these songs! >>> A slow, hot start,
so far; lookin’ forward to hearin’ all tha music and vocals! Hearin’ tha chorus
and it sounds pretty good/strong; I like tha previous two songs on here better,
but this has that hotness! Now, tha duet progresses from tha chorus to tha 2nd
verse; tight/hotness! Have to say, I’m really likin’ tha lyrics… My Rating: 4.2
06.
Porcelain Black “Naughty Naughty (Mr. Mig Elektro-Fi Remix Radio Edit)”
An
early surprise? Really looks like it’s gonna be pretty hot wit tha remixer and
tha BPM!! >>> Very hot start
wit tha addictive, fast music; interestin’ vocals and lyrics goin’ on, here!!
Lookin’ at tha label, and it’s somewhat borderline; gives me more of a dance
feel, here. Nice job wit tha chorus and of course, tha hot-ass music iz really
what’s up; gotta feel it!! My Rating: 4.7
07.
Morgan Page Feat. Tegan & Sara “Body Work (Club Edit)”
Taken
from tha clubs, here, lol? Got these alternative artist vocals on here, so it
should be pretty hot like how “Feel It In My Bones” was! >>> Likin’
tha different kind of music for tha start; not really like Morgan Page’s sound
but it’s pretty hot… Tha length’s a lil’ over four minutes? Hope it doesn’t get
too boring along tha way… A lil’ long but not so bad, since I didn’t really
lose too much interest… My Rating: 4.0
08.
Steve Aoki Feat. Wynter Gordon “Ladi Dadi (Part II)”
Are
we “in tha house” for this one? Got tha same BPM as “I’m In The House”, but Ms.
Hotness herself, Wynter Gordon, on
tha vocals!! Lookin’ forward, especially bein’ 4:46!! >>> Nice and
long wit tha intro, like “Lose Control”! LOL, :46 in and it still didn’t start…
LOL, where are tha BPMs? ROFL, dubstep goin’ on, here? Takin’ quite a while to
have a lot goin’ on, but once I hear tha choruses, they sound pretty hot! LOL,
I thought tha title was pronounced “lady lady,” but it’s pronounced
“la-di-da-di,” lol! Morgan Page effect? Tha 1st verse started at
2:48, lol! Oh rofl, I thought it was called “Ladi Ladi”, but it’s Ladi Dadi”. I
like tha longness in this song; makes me wanna play it more to tha point where
I’m not hungry enough to be satisfied (a.k.a., gotta hear it more to get tha
picture)! My Rating: 4.3
09.
Hot Chelle Rae “I Like It Like That (Goldstein Remix)”
No,
not tha HMs again!! Let alone, 107 BPM? At least it ain’t that long like tha
previous songs! >>> Boo, not even a dance sound, except tha SFX. Tha
beat sounds good, but way too slow and it could’ve been a better artist on this
song. Sounds a lil’ bit like Adam Levine from Maroon 5 wit tha vocals… Ugh,
these hot beats!! Wish they were faster!! These are good lyrics for a rap song
but lol/’what-tha’ for bein’ pop lyrics… Tha last CD had a slow mix of Kelly
Clarkson. If it was a female vocalist, I prolly would’ve gotten more into this.
Damn, how many hot beats are goin’ on, here, lol? Because of tha hot beats, I’m
not gonna be too harsh on my rating… My
Rating: 3.0
10.
Denis Naidanow Feat. Juan Magan “Shuri Shuri (Crazy) (Bodybangers Radio Edit)”
And
what iz this? >>> Could’ve been okay, at first, but damn, sounds like
Spanish lyrics? Beat has a lil’ bit of “Americano” in it? Am I trippin’ wit
what I’m thinkin’ everything iz? Now, I hear some Nicola Fasano BPMs/beats,
lol? Sounds like a really weird song, in a somewhat-good way, due to all tha
elements. Yea, this iz Spanish; yucky-yuck, lol. Funny how there’s no content
warning, but “Stereo Love” and “Get Back (ASAP)” get it? Overall, I feel it’s
too Spanish for me; definitely not a 4.0 but it qualifies for a lil’ lower than
that… My Rating: 3.7
½time: Really likin’ this CD a whole lot, so far!! Pretty shocked to
only know I’m only at tha ½ mark! A few semi-ehh songs, but a lot of great
material, to where tha average CD rating’s at a 4.1 for me!
11.
Adele “Set Fire To The Rain (Moto Blanco Edit)”
Not
anotha HM/weird song… I thought tha 2nd ½ of tha CD iz usually
dance-exclusive? >>> No AL
for tha mix; thought I might’ve heard better versions out there. I thought this
song wasn’t out there, at first, but I see KTU & Z100 have this song (not
sure which versions); I need to get back to bein’ updated wit knowin’ what’s
what wit tha music business, these dayz; got too much goin’ on. Yea, I’m goin’
on about shit ‘cause I don’t really need to leave feedback to this bleh mix,
right now, lol. My 30-year-old cousin passed away, mysteriously (might’ve been
overdose) on December 14, and what was on MCD when I found out? Adele “Someone
Like You”; what iz with Adele and dance stations?! Gotta quote my boy Al from
her previous appearance: “She’s got a good voice but not for the dance world!” My Rating: 2.3
(boring mix; wanted to rate it lower than Michael Jackson “Hollywood Tonight”,
lol)
12.
Mike Lembo “Can’t Come Down (Wideboys Radio Mix)”
Saw
tha label before any of tha ID, and I knew who it was (“Life Of The Party”
dude)! Glad he’s got a new song wit Wideboys on tha mix, but how will he sound
without Gia Bella and Mike Rizzo? >>> ROFL, another “I’m Not Alone” song…? I think it sounds good, kinda like
every other song I heard sample tha same Calvin Harris song… I dunno if I
should say, good rhymes or good lyrics for tha ‘party’? It sounds great for me,
overall. My Rating: 4.2
13. Avicii “Le7els (Cazzette’s Radio Remix)”
I
thought somethin’ else would make a 2nd appearance on here, not
“Le7els”, lol. But, since it’s here and I can say somethin’, I have to say,
it’s always on MTV Hits, luckily! MTV Hits had a bunch of mini YECs, includin’
EDM artists of tha year! I thought it was cool that they took tha time out for
a list! It was this (and, they played their videos to go with their ranks as
artists, not songs):
10.
Martin Solveig (MTV Hits showed/played “Hello”)
09.
Tiësto (played “I Will Be Here”)
08.
Kaskade (played “Turn It Down”)
07.
Calvin Harris (played “Feel So Close”)
06.
Avicii (played “Le7els”)
05.
Afrojack (played “Take Over Control”)
04.
Swedish House Mafia (played “Save The World”)
03.
deadmau5 (played his live performance of “Aural Psynapse”)
02.
David Guetta (surprised he’s not #1; played “Without You”)
01.
Skrillex (lol, dubstep artist; really, that much buzz? :? Played “First Of The
Year (Equinox)”)
Now,
to this mix… >>> LOL, sounds like tha same, only like a dub, or more
of a house version; ugh… Ewe, weird music toward tha 1:00 mark… Ahh, too many 7ocals, lol!! An okay mix,
although weird, here and there. I might
add it as a second mix to get its spins up; maybe… My Rating: 3.7
14.
Kaskade Feat. Skylar Grey “Room For Happiness”
Speakin’
of tha EDM artists, lol, surprised I didn’t see anyone wit that song of
Kaskade’s that MTV Hits showed (wit Rebecca & Fiona “Turn It Down”); I
didn’t get tha chance or bother to get tha song, since it sounded kinda decent,
but now, a new song, so let’s see what happens. >>> Sounds good wit
some new, unlisted vocals! I didn’t get to play “Eyes” that much, despite me
really liking it; it still plays on MCD a lot, so I hear it more than I play
it. But, this should do pretty good wit me, too; kinda long but there’s “room
for” addictiveness wit this continuation
of vocals and tight music, lol! My
Rating: 4.2
15.
Kerima “Never Settle For Less (Zodiac Radio Mix)”
It’s
tha “This Night” girl. I love how MCD got rid of her previous song, as well as
a shitload of tha late-night songs, but they can’t stop “Take Over Control”,
Usher “More”, Britney Spears, Pitbull, etc. from rotation. :roll :roll
>>> Sounds unique from tha previous song; hot voice and even hotter
music! Ooh, tha anthemic music kicked in for tha chorus!! Definitely hotness
comin’ outta tha speakers, now! Even a lil’ stutter-soundin’ vocals, too;
nothin’ but hotness all around!! Tha last song was signed wit tha Phat
Planet/Phase One labels and now this iz wit Next Plateau Ent., so hopefully, by
bein’ wit Robbins’ next-door neighbors, some better exposure can come outta
this? I hope so! My Rating: 4.6
16.
Havana Brown Feat.
Pitbull “We Run The Night (Static Revenger Mixshow Edit)”
Saw
tha label first and thought it was gonna be a repeat song (‘cause I looked at PO: Express a week ago and saw some new dance songs,
figuring some would make it this way). No Pitbull in tha ID, lol? Kinda funny,
but we’ll see once I hear this mix. >>> He’s kinda in tha intro,
still. Even though dance beats, not sure what I’m gonna get outta this mix… Sounds
like added BPMs… It seemed to kick in more wit tha original version. LOL, iz
this CD fulla songs wit tons of music or what, lol? But, when it was “Le7els”,
there were so many vocals, lol? Kinda startin’ to dig tha house feel, a lil’,
here… Yea, Pitbull’s in this; lol @ tha error! LOL, she doesn’t have a verse
but Pitbull does? How odd… Kinda unique: I expected this to be rapless, but it
went completely opposite: singless/Havana Brown verseless, lol! Got me a lil’
hungry, like tha Steve Aoki/Wynter Gordon song, to wanna hear more, so I might
help it get spins wit tha original! My
Rating: 4.1
17.
Chris Lake “Sundown (Lazy Rich Radio Edit)”
What
will he have in store? >>> Sounds a lil’ familiar in tha beginning;
let’s see if I can ID where I might’ve heard it… Sounds like a big beat; maybe,
a mix from MCD? Gotta be; familiar lyrics, too, but sounds pretty hot… Wow,
that hot beat; feelin’ like it could be an addiction!! Gotta luv this CD for
its house exposure and club mix edits, lol! My Rating: 4.3
18.
Farahri “Shake Your Body (Babyboi & Tinman Edit)”
…And,
this PO’s for repeat songs! Wow, 3; iz that a
record? Or, if you wanna count David Puentnez as 4? Got really addicted to tha remix version! It got over 100 spins wit me
in 2011! As for this mix, cool that MCD got it, but it prolly could’ve only
stayed on there, instead of bein’ on here, too. I know MCD for gettin’ weird
mixes; this doesn’t come close to tha remix version on tha 11/11 CD! Different
vibe, still a cool song, but gotta have tha speed, too! My Current Rating: 3.9
19.
RCDM Feat. Candace Sames “Yes No Maybe”
LOL,
I thought a repeat song was gonna come outta nowhere again, lol. Seein’ that
it’s Carrillo Music on tha label, I assume tha artist name stands for Rod Carrillo (who runs tha label) Dance
Music (‘cause his site’s
dancemusiclabel.com). A girl on tha feature that I don’t know? Tha title looks
like a mystery to see what I’ll think of it, lol; I’m anticipated!!
>>> A lil’ dry/plain wit tha music, here; let’s see tha vocals… they
could be a lil’ better, too; lots of tha title goin’ on? Are we gettin’ another
house song outta nowhere, lol? Damn, I expected it to be a “yes” for me, but it
seems more toward tha “no.” Damn, 3:57 on tha length? Even at 2:13, it seems
too long, right now… My Rating: 2.9 :(
EDIT: Actually, RCDM stands for
Rod Carrillo Dave Matthias.
20.
Fedde Le Grand “So Much Love”
Hope
it’s a good ending… *Checks ID* Oh, a regular dance song/artist, lol? How
unexpected; let’s see what’ll go on, here… >>> Oh no, I hear tha
vocals; always heard this in Johnny Budz’s mixshow on MCD for a while, now… Behold,
another house song for this CD, lol! Nothin’ bad about this, but I anticipated
somethin’ new/NHI for tha ending song. My
Rating: 3.6
Overall: Seemed like a crazy CD
fulla lots of fun and shit, lol! Should we call this PO House Radio? …PO
Re-Entry-Song Radio, lol? Anyway, lookin’ forward to gettin’ a lot of these
songs to make 2012 a great year for me! I’m actually doin’ my 2011 YEC
tomorrow. It’s only 416 songs, due to I didn’t have much time to research, I
was fixin’ my iPod & computer, and I didn’t give-in to many underground
rappers like I did, previously; many didn’t appreciate my awards or stay
loyal/consistent wit me, so now, I make wiser choices!
