Tha
mysterious Promo Only: Dance Radio August 2012 review. Don’t know too many
artists on tha tracklisting—which could be a good thing—and there are a lot of
original versions. Start Time: 5:27
PM | End Time: 6:48 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01.
Linkin Park “Burn It Down (Paul Van Dyk No Rap Edit)”
Weakest
PO start of all time? Sorry if I’m bein’ a
dickrider when I say this, but PVD wit 128 BPM? Hello, “Eternity”; that’s a
doosie! No rap for Linkin
Park? Another doosie;
it’s not like they’re wack (Fort
Minor & their
“Remember The Name”-type rhymes)! >>> I might’ve sampled this on YT to
try to find a mix; I don’t think I was successful in ICin’ anything… Yea,
nothin’ too standout-y here; prolly could’ve used tha rappin’ to juice it up.
One verse and chorus and 2:16 already went by? Really quick… Some of tha
music’s pretty good, but why a trance remixer for a rock artist? My Rating: 3.5
02.
Medina
“Forever”
She
almost sounds a lil’ older on tha start; still soundin’ like a good song. Tha
standout iz tha chorus; I also like tha “deeper inside” parts. My Current Rating: 4.2
03.
Karmin “Hello (Laidback Luke Radio Edit)”
Startin’
off without lookin’ at tha ID… >>> Good start; I recognize tha title
but can’t picture tha artist(s)… Unique start wit tha chorus and sounds; I
should be able to know that ID. *Checks ID* Karmin, lol? Caught me by surprise,
includin’ their rappin’, which I actually like. They may be in tha pop world,
but I like how tha girl raps fast! Also, hot beats from LL! Almost sounds like
they’re samplin’ Nirvana “Smells Like Teen Spirit” wit tha “hello, hello,
hello” shit. I liked tha 1st verse better; 2nd verse’s
kinda poppy, but this iz still somethin’ nice. My Rating: 4.3
04.
AFSHeeN & MacKenzie Thomas “Blast Off”
Dubstep
song wit tha BPM? >>> Ooh, really likin’ tha start!! Vocals sound a
lil’ poppy, but it’s all about tha “music!!” Built only off a chorus? Thought
I’d hear at least a verse, includin’ a female? Still dope to me, though. My Rating: 4.5
05.
Avicii vs. Lenny Kravitz “Superlove”
LOL,
here’s this song. Avicii teamin’ up wit an alt-rock singer from tha ‘90s, who
had a few top 40 hits, but faded away. Lol, it took Avicii to revive him? I
think he sounds dance-affiliated wit these vocals; they know how to blend right
in, easily! I like it better than “Silhouettes” on a FL, but will it be able to
do better than “Silhouettes” on my playlist, especially now that my
internship’s over? I can’t picture listening to my iPod for 5 hours, 15 dayz
every 3 weeks, like I did at my internship; I would probably rather catch up
wit things… My Current Rating: 4.4
06.
Sergio Galoyan Feat. Tamra Keenan “Knowing You”
Familiar
vocalist (featured on David Morales & Kaskade songs), so let’s see how this
turns out… >>> Well, outta “Here I Am” (2005) & “Angel On My
Shoulder” (2008), this iz tha best one on a FL! Feelin’ tha music in tha 1st
verse; good lyrics, too, and vocals still soundin’ great! Chorus blends in good
wit tha 1st verse, and doesn’t stop! Shout out to this new (I think)
dance DJ on tha beats! My Rating: 4.4
07.
Tulisa “Young (Gregor Salto Edit)”
High
AL on tha
mix; lemme double-check this artist to see what she’s signed with… Ahh, it iz a
major label; hope it’s good for a HM? Lemme hear! >>> Good vocal
start; might need a lil’ more catch in tha music… Yes, it build up; great music
after tha chorus! Doesn’t sound too much like a HM artist, so I think this can
go both ways, in tha music world, that iz. My
Rating: 4.3
08.
Breathe Carolina
“Hit And Run (Wideboys Radio Edit)”
Got
a snippet at tha original and it sounded like a good song; hope WB made a good
remix! >>> An okay start…; this iz where Gregor Salto’s mix brightened
up tha last song, where this just sounds okay. Not bad for a remix, but I think
tha original version might be a lil’ better… WB’s remix to their previous song,
“Blackout”, was better, even though I should like this song better… My Rating: 3.9
09.
Above & Beyond Feat. Richard Bedford “On My Way To Heaven”
Longer
intro and length, as well as 134 BPM? I must have a different version? I think
I got tha music video from YT, so lemme hear what this sounds like…
>>> Ooh, beat’s a lil’ different and faster! Those tight trance beats
are still here, though! Good thing I didn’t publish tha latest playlist ‘cause
this iz tha real original version! Still likin’ “LINE” but now that this iz
gettin’ out there pretty fast (on P105), looks like this iz gonna be bigger.
Still, MCD, please, enough wit tha
“TCL”! I shouldn’t bash on that ‘cause it’s a VT song, but they need to get tha
newer songs! Different part around 2:46; good VT part, but I liked tha build up
in tha version I got. It was one of those songs/remixes that gradually built up
tha whole way through! My Rating: 4.6
½time: I reached tha ½ point in
only a ½ hour; this edition ain’t that long and I’m short on time. But, seems
like a lotta great songs; 4.2 for tha current CD rating!!
10.
Nick Fiorucci Feat. Shobha & Joshua J “Back To Me (Chriss Ortega Festival
Radio Mix)”
Finally,
a new song (last and only time was “The Night” from tha 5/08 PO),
as well as Hi-Bas Records comin’ back, too! Looks like it could be good wit tha
remixer and DJ, but I dunno about these vocals, based off tha ID? Could be
somethin’ different? >>> Thought I was expectin’ reggae or somethin’,
but it’s a nice dance start! Chorus sounds hot; feelin’ these lyrics, too!
Also, not bad on tha breakdown; almost reminds me of tha David Puentez “Envy”
breakdown, lol, but wit some added SFX! My
Rating: 4.3
11.
Adam F “When The Rain Is Gone”
I
keep thinkin’ this iz a Ferry Corsten alias wit tha name (his iz System F), but
it’s another DJ (I knew from Drum & Bass music); let’s see how this goes!
>>> Whoo, HOT music start!!!
Only 72 BPM? Damn, I keep thinkin’ tha music iz really fast, and then it turns
into dubstep! But, VERY HOT, here!! I
can tell this iz gonna be my top song on this CD!! Whoo, lots of music
elements; short length, and strictly to-tha-point!! Really feelin’ these vocals
(sampled?)!!! My Rating: 4.9
12.
Kurd Maverick “Hell Yeah”
Likin’
tha ID; another returned artist after “Live Your Life”, so let’s see what this
gon be like! I have a feelin’ it gon be kinda funny… >>> Yea, this
sounds different for what I’d expect from KM, but this iz some tight shit, in a
way! Lovin’ tha explicitness (beats “Loca People”), includin’ tha house style!
Finally, some added beats at 1:30 and they sound tighter than a “muthafucka,”
here! My Rating: 4.6
13.
Gossip “Move In The Right Direction (Seamus Haji Remix Radio)”
We’re
prolly sayin’ to ourselves, “Another single so fast?” Because I was skimmin’
through my college station’s
music, I think it’s two singles at once: this and “Perfect World”. Now, let’s
see how this will go up against “PW” (I like “PW” better as a song, but how
will I be with a remix?)! >>> Nice beginning; likin’ tha vocal sounds…
Yea, decent for a song; remix ain’t that bad, either, but I still expect a lil’
better for SH on tha remix. My Rating: 3.7
14.
Sir Ivan “La La Land (Papercha$er Radio Edit)”
Usually,
he remakes and sounds a lil’ weird (hence, he’s born in tha ‘50s, I think);
lemme hear what he’s got this time. >>> “Welcome to Long
Island”? That gave me some AL,
but it was, “La La Land.” A lil’ catchy, but I gotta give it up to PC$ wit tha
beats! Likin’ tha PC$ breakdown beats; this iz another nice beat at 1:40! I’m
in luv wit these consistent beats; 4:00 of great beats!! My Rating: 4.4
15.
Rebecca & Fiona “Bullets (Original Mix)”
Another
artist wit tha quick follow-up single… I have a feeling tha previous song from
tha last PO gon be better. >>> Sounds
like a dude beginning, lol, when it’s ‘pose to be females… As I expected, it
sounds decent; I do like when they say tha title, though. I dunno what else ta
say, lol… My Rating: 3.8
16.
Timbaland Feat. Ne-Yo “Hands In The Air”
Here
we go wit tha non-dance songs (I know I’m ready to flashout on BTR comin’ up)…
>>> First few seconds almost sounded like cookin’ a fire… I think Timb
sounds a lil’ funny, here. I know he was good wit tha “The Way I Are” and all
that, but I dunno if he has what it takes to have faster songs… Sounds cheesy
for me, includin’ tha chorus; this iz where tha PC$ beats can help a weird
song, where as this doesn’t do it… Thumbs up for Ne-Yo appearin’; he sounds
like he could’ve handled almost tha whole song… I’ll admit: Tha last #16 PO song, “Beat Down”, where I only rated it a 2.7, I
think it’s way better than this! My
Rating: 2.5
17.
Prince Malik “So Bad”
Looks
like I can feel some AL
here, with tha mysterious artist havin’ their name as their label. Plus, tha
130 BPM gives me AL, too! >>> Damn, some scary auto-tune vocals in tha
beginning… Shit, these vocals are a turn-off!! :td Almost sounds like T-Pain?
Ugh, enough wit tha non-dance-soundin’ songs!! I should’ve known this was weird
wit tha title; haven’t I heard this somewhere? :? What I like to call: “fake
dance music!” No, no, no!! No need for that beat at 2:22; leave tha tightness
to someone else! Hopefully, this will flop and not appear anywhere! Go live
with “Cry (Just A Little)”, lol! My
Rating: 1.3
18.
Big Time Rush “Windows Down”
“F
this!!!” <- That’s how I feel about tha preview to this song, right now, but
I prolly should’ve felt tha same wit tha previous two songs, only they tricked
me! >>> Startin’ off wit a sample (boo); samples a hard-rock/alternative
song by tha band Blur (“Song 2”) from tha ‘90s (lol, I, like, know my music
history now, in almost all areas). Just off of that, I’m already turned off!
How can they appear on a PO for tha second
time, with an original/not-remixed version? :confused Okay, skippin’ this!
*Stops at 1:23!* My Rating: 1.0
19.
Zeds Dead & Omar LinX “The Living Dead”
A
5:15-length joint to end this PO off? Artist
almost looks like they killed Zedd (“Spectrum”), smh? If this ain’t dance, I’m
gonna throw up, so Ultra, you better prove to PO
that you can turn this around! >>> If 30 seconds iz tha intro, then
this iz a no-word song? Ooh, excitement’s building; sounds like it came from
another country! :) Since when does a PO,
especially wit a bunch of pathetic songs before this, end wit a no-word song?!
:tu Now, at 1:32, it’s soundin’ dubstep-y; this iz creepy, in a real
interesting way! LOL, vocals at 2:33, and it’s rappin’! Iz this Omar dude
familiar? Thought I might’ve heard of him, but tha rappin’ was nice! Didn’t
expect vocals from this kinda song! Well, I’m gonna rate this pretty high
‘cause of its uniqueness!! My Rating: 4.6
Overall: Only took me 81 minutes
to review this; not bad… Could’ve had a 4.3-rated PO
if #16-18 weren’t on here, smh! But, I enjoyed a lot of this CD! Glad
dance and dubstep paid off for August! But, wit tha next one, it’ll be tha 1st
PO ever
that I won’t be enrolled in school! Graduating August 25, 2012!
