happy nine years of reviewin’ PO CDs!! It was nine years ago today, April 29,

always about makin’ history repeat! Once again, thanx so much for believin’ in me and puttin’ me in y’all’s newsletter!!
It really means a whole lot!! Glad
y’all appreciate me!! Start Time: 5:01

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01.
Martin Garrix feat. Usher “Don’t Look Down”
This
time, RCA Records holdin’ this MG release down. I saw MCD get this and it
sounded okay, but great for a more-pop song… But, lemme get an official first
listen, now! >>> Not tha exact, same-soundin’ Garrix sound in tha
beginning with this guitar… An okay 1st verse, but I really like how
‘Urshur’ sings tha chorus… And, tha drop sounds more dreamy than slammin’ sound
effects; nice blend! To go with tha 1st verse, tha 2nd
verse ain’t too bad, as well… My Rating:
4.3
02.
Tiësto & KSHMR feat. Vassy “Secrets”
Now,
here’s a Casablanca & Republic Records release, unlike Garrix, lol. I kinda
got a feel for this one; I think it’s real hot! Lemme get anotha listen!
>>> Just like “Bad”, tha vocals ain’t tha typical Vassy voice. It
ain’t as bad on tha vocals, but it sounds nice with that beat. And then, tha
drop strikes with its climax; real hot!! Nice drop to combine with that climax,
just like I said!! Defines hot weather for this spring, just like this
74-degree day! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too; almost sounds
a lil’ better, like an original voice. My
Rating: 4.5
03.
Markus Schulz feat. Delacey “Destiny”
Are
tha vocals who I think it’s by? We shall find out! New label, here:
Coldharbour; lookin’ forward to this new release!! >>> EDIT: This accidentally iz #12 on tha PO disc: Sultan
& Ned Shepard feat. Tegan & Sara “Make Things Right”! Now,
YouTubin’ this, officially, and it sounds pretty hot with tha music and vocals!
Still, it’s not tha same Delacey I thought it was, but this iz still hotter!
Tha drop’s kinda dry, but it still has a great vibe to it, courtesy of MS!
Heard tha title part at tha end of tha 2nd verse and it sounds
pretty nice; hot shit! Might tie this with tha S&NS/T&S song, but I
have a feeling I like that song better? Wow! My Rating: 4.3
04.
Kaskade feat. Tess Comrie “Never Sleep Alone”
Now
with Warner Bros., here, so he even more mainstream, now? I bet this gon sound
like one of his typical, male-vocal songs? >>> Ooh, choosin’ a female
on tha vocals, here; sounds like someone like Skylar Grey or somebody we know…
A lil’ slow on tha chorus, but I like how it sounds; interesting vocals!
Somethin’ told me in my head, “What does Kaskade sound like while you’re high?
Could be tha moment?” Well, this song seems to be on one of those exciting
routes, fa me; nice job! Drop sounds nice, but tha track sounds nice, overall! I
like tha 2nd verse, here, with tha “Take these pills” line, which,
ironically—Skylar Grey—it’s tha 1st set of lyrics from Skylar’s
“Invisible” (9/11 PO)! Okay, I’m checkin’ SoundCloud, and it says that tha
vocals are by Tess Comrie! Nice newbie! My
Rating: 4.3
05.
Calvin Harris feat. HAIM “Pray To God”
Columbia Records… LOL, gotta luv
it and that 15 seconds!! Gotta luv this group on tha vocals, too; glad they
just made PO!! All three members of HAIM are
all sisters, so it’s great to have a family on here! I had them playing
(“Forever”) randomly when I got tha phone call to work at Dunkin’!! March 14,
2014 @ 1:15 PM; whoo!! And, for a slower-soundin’, alt-dance Calvin Harris
song, this sounds pretty catchy. Only decent spins with me, but just luv how
tha both of them connect on tha track! My
Current Rating: 4.4
06.
Vuonnala “Silence (Tavo Radio Edit)”
A
huge amount of anticipation for this new track, released on Tazmania Records!!
I dunno, it just seems really anticipating!!! >>> An okay music start,
here, with some catchy female vocals… Hearin’ tha drop and it sounds pretty
nice and dark, but it’s more on tha deep house side! Even some dubbed vocals in
here, too, which sound hot. Now, I hear tha title part; pretty hot with tha
vocals! Sounds great for a slower track! Kinda seems a lil’ short with this
one, too…? Diggin’ tha music sax at 2:36 over this beat! Even though a slower
song, it still sounds really interestin’ to me… LOL, just like Tavo’s “Amazing”
song with Sophia May (12/14 PO), this song had
a fade, too! But, PO lists tha ending as
‘Cold,’ ROFL? My Rating: 4.2
07.
Mandy Jiroux “My Forever (Hero & Parris Radio Edit)”
Almost
thought it was tha same Paris
from Paris & Simo, but I just noticed tha extra “R” in this Parris’ name…
With that bein’ said, ooh, this a pure/unique-soundin’, anticipatin’ PO ‘cause we have anotha new label: VarCity; can’t wait
to hear this new artist!! First “Mandy” on a PO?
>>> Sounds like Alicia Madison on tha vocals, a lil’, so that’s a bit
of a turn-on! Music sounds like it could be anticipatin’ for a dance track;
nice 1st attempt! Ooh @ tha chorus; almost sounds like one of those
classic-soundin’ trance vocals! Definitely nice and wow, what a powerful
climax!!! Even tha drop has it goin’ on here, too! Would’ve been interesting
with a trance drop, but you already know what’s in style… Tha 2nd
verse sounds pretty nice, too; great new track!! My Rating: 4.4
08.
Syn Cole “It’s You”
I’ono,
but I feel like I’m anticipatin’ it! After his remix of J.Lo’s “First Love”
(8/14 PO), “it’s” made me anticipate him, all
of a sudden! ICONS & PRMD Music on tha label, of course… >>>
Almost didn’t expect vocals, but it sounds like a nice, slow-soundin’,
male-vocal song… Hearin’ tha chorus part and tha lil’ climax/chorus beat’s
pretty nice… Nice job with tha strong-soundin’ male vocal, in a way; kinda
sounds a lil’ like a pop vocalist? Good job with tha drop, here; sounds great…
And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice with these lyrics. My Rating: 4.0
09.
Spada & Elen Levon “Cool Enough”
Looks
anticipatin’… And, Robbins signed this one! LOL, what will my critique be?!?
>>> Nice beginning, here… Ooh @ these vocals; sounds like Wynter
Gordon? I must be so high to think
that, right now!! Definitely feelin’ tha chorus, here! Let’s see what tha drop
gon sound like… Well, a lil’ folk-y with tha banjo? Just seems like a
regular-soundin’ dance song with tha beats… Either way, I’m diggin’ tha lyrics
on tha 2nd verse, here; “tatted up!” Will I get tattoos, one day? A PO one? Music
notes on dice? Hmm…, lol? Wow, at 2:05, she even said, “Turn down for what?”
That saying’s really gone far? Everyone from rappers to DJs to dance vocalists
using that? Thanx, Lil’ Jon! My Rating: 4.2
10.
AtellaGali feat. Amanda Renee “Close To Your Love”
Universal
Latino on tha label…; really? Seems more like a dance signing… AG from
“Forever” (6/14 PO) and this vocalist name?
Wow!! I really love this girl at my job—my assistant manager!! And,
she’s in tha vocalist’s name! Even Music Choice Dance just got this! Wanted to
wait for this review to hear it for tha 1st time!! >>>
Sounds like a true dance vocalist on tha vocals, here… Hearin’ tha chorus and
it’s soundin’ good; I expect a huge drop! I also expect unique sound effects,
but I don’t think I’ll get it? Lemme see… Okay, okay, I’m definitely diggin’
tha drop; definitely pure quality in it for a nice house sound!! Go, Amandas!!
However, at my job, to not “lure” Amanda out to help us (by there bein’ a
line), I say, “Big pandas, no Amandas,” lol! Diggin’ tha bridge here, too; nice
job! And, just luv that pre-chorus before tha final chorus! My Rating: 4.5
½time: Wow, look at this PO, so far!! No wonder why I get fulla dat good shit
before I review these POs, now! Look at tha outcomes!! All tha songs have at
least a 4.0 rating, so far!! I believe that’s only happened on three POs, so
far, outta tha nine years I’ve been reviewin’ ‘em!! And, with that bein’ said, tha
average CD rating’s at a nice 4.3!!
Excellent job, though I know “When The Beat Drops Out”’s on here, again; it
prolly gon fuck up tha consistency!!
11.
Nick Jonas “Chains (Audien Radio Edit)”
Tha
next single (Island / Republic Records)… Kinda
risky for these 4.0 ratings. However, thanx to MCD, they made me feel more
comfortable in this Jonas situation! I have to say, nice job by Audien!
>>> Decent vocals, lyrics and music throughout tha 1st
verse. To me, tha drop’s only great; kinda too strong for this Jonas Brother? I
mean, damn, lol, so much strength put into this lil’ boy!! Tha 2nd
verse sounds kinda personal, lol? A nice effort for this boy, but not a 4.0er
for me… My Rating: 3.7 (lol @ tha consistency comin’ to an end,
especially with MCD just gettin’ a new Qulinez song!!)
12.
Sultan & Ned Shepard feat. Tegan & Sara “Make Things Right”
Double
duet, lol? Spinnin’ comin’ through with this release and how ironic that I
mentioned T&S in this review; now, they’re here! >>> Anotha song
on here that sounds like a decent start with tha music and vocals… Sounds like
I’ve heard this from somewhere before, so it’s familiar… EDIT: Wait a second…; what?!? PO Disc Error: This was accidentally #3 on this CD, instead of tha Markus
Schulz track; whoa?! With that bein’ said, lemme copy/paste tha original
feedback I had:
Just
like Garrix, it has a guitar. And, hearin’ tha vocals come in at :16 and it’s
not who I thought it was, but sounds better for this kinda dance track…
Speakin’ of this title, that’s tha name of someone at my job, who’s great for
an 18-year-old! “Destiny!” Luv tha name! And, tha chorus sounds pretty good,
here; catchy vocals, almost like a Tegan & Sara… Whoo @ tha drop; sounds pretty
pure on this vocal track!! Tha guitar even blends in pretty nice with that nice
drop! Tha 2nd verse sounded nice, but for some reason, this track
seemed short for me, lol? What kinda zone am I in, since it’s 3:53! Once again,
nice track! My Rating: 4.3
13.
Paul Van Dyk & Roger Shah feat. Daphne Khoo “Louder (Myon & Shane 54
Summer Of Love Radio Edit)”
Gotta
luv tha anticipation fa this track! Look at this collab!! Ultra on tha signin’,
here; let’s get dreamy!! >>> A nice music start, here; tha chorus
sounds pretty nice! Diggin’ tha “looooooooooooooooouuuuud” part! Tha drop
sounds pretty nice, but it almost sounds like it could have a Syn Cole feel to
it… Prolly could’ve had better music parts, but it still sounds pretty nice for
a collaboration like this! My Rating: 4.1
14.
Marlon Roudette “When The Beat Drops Out (Don Diablo Radio Edit)”
Not again!!!!!!!!! >>> Almost sounds like tha 1st PO version, but I can betcha I heard this on some of those mixshows; *yawn…* Even KTU got this; why? Like, really? Drop sounds a lil’ better; might like this a touch better! And, even dubbin’; really, lol? Whether this may be a touch better or not, still, that name iz guilty pleasure voodoo in tha music business (explained in tha 3/15 PO)!! My Rating: 2.4 (whoo, it got a raise!! LOL!!)
Not again!!!!!!!!! >>> Almost sounds like tha 1st PO version, but I can betcha I heard this on some of those mixshows; *yawn…* Even KTU got this; why? Like, really? 15.
Feenixpawl feat. Melissa Ramsay “Ghosts”
I
know of Wind-Up Records (Stefy “Chelsea” & Evanescence!) but also, tha
Eclypse label on tha signing… I have to say, for tha anticipated tracks on this
CD, I have a feeling that this one’ll pay off tha most!! >>> LOL @ tha
15-second intro, PO? Felt like it was only a
second long, lol! Sounds like it gon be pretty hot based off of this climax and
chorus!! Ooh, even better climax; here comes tha big drop, just like a
rollercoaster!! And, yes, best drop on this CD, so far; excellent job!! Tha 2nd
part sounds great, too, with more of tha title part! May be my top-rated song
on this CD, but I have a feelin’ this won’t be tha one I play tha most… My Rating: 4.6
16.
Nadia Gattas “The Feeling”
Ooh,
anotha Carrillo song makin’ anotha PO!!
Anticipatin’ this newbie’s name and this track! Only 2:53 on tha length;
leggo!! >>> I have a feeling it gon be a lil’ deep house-y but I’m
anticipatin’ this start with tha music… Hearin’ tha vocals and it sounds a lil’
on tha urban tip with how tha vocals sound. Still, it sounds catchy for this
house song! Hearin’ tha part after tha chorus and it sounds like a nice and
random song… Repetitive, but I bet ‘cause of tha repetitiveness, I gon play
this quite a bit! My Rating: 4.1
17.
Wild Style “Take Me Home (Richard Vission Edit)”
Was
just about to preview this for tha 1st time, courtesy of Party 105,
but I forgot it was on here, lol… RV’s Solmatic label, here; almost was
expecting hardstyle, but let’s see
what gon come outta this… >>> Freestyle
start? What a surprise!! Kinda gave me that vibe!! Whoo, so excited!! Hearin’
tha chorus and it almost sounds like a decent pop song, but even better: this
has that early 2000s pop-dance feel to it! Diggin’ tha freestyle-soundin’ drop!!
Definitely luvin’ tha vibe, here; might just be my top-rated song, even though
I expected a lil’ better for tha chorus! Wow, even tha lil’ breakdown has a freestyle sound to it,
too! Bet this gon be a nice summer anthem! Addin’ it today, due to tha P105
add!! My Rating: 4.7
18.
Bellatrax feat. Sophia May “What Love Is”
Goin’
with tha Tazmania label again!! And, just like I mentioned Sophia May on this
review, here she iz! A deep house BPM of 122, though; not sure what to expect…
Either way, I hope it has those hot Bellatrax sounds to it, still! >>>
Diggin’ tha music start and vocals… Nice lyrics and still a good sound, here…
Hearin’ tha chorus and it does sound like a deep house vibe… Hearin’ tha drop
and it’s a deep house sound, though I hear Bellatrax’s lil’ sound effect kinda
croakin’ in tha background…; it’s almost like it died. :( Anotha nice
collaboration from these two, here, though I did expect better. Prolly could’ve
left that slow deep house shit alone and continued bracin’ us with those catchy
dance tunes with those bubblin’ sound effects! My Rating: 4.0
19.
Xenia Ghali feat. Wyclef Jean “Get Dirty”
Heard
it a few weeks ago while high! Surprised PO
ain’t get her previous song, “Broken”, with Katt Rockell; that was pretty
bangin’ for last summer / fall! But now, here we are with this one, lol, and
look at this collaboration! Pitbull’s label on tha label, lol (Mr. 305
Records), as well as Exit 8 & Funky Sheep; lots of labels, lol! Lemme get a
better listen at this, since MCD got it and I ain’t really pay attention…
>>> Sounds more dance, now that I’m hearin’ it through my speakers!
Nice club vibe and lol @ Wyclef and these “Georgia” rhymes! And, that chorus:
three letters: “L-O-L!” If it’s tha kinda dry and repetitive beats I wanna
hear, this iz fine; diggin’ this club vibe! And, tha 2nd verse’s tha
same as tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha rest of this and although
it seems like forever, it’s still nice… Speakin’ of this title, lol @ tha girl
that just texted me a few minutes ago: This girl I work with, whose last day iz
next Thursday, has sex toy parties! LOL, perfect song for her, lol! “Franklin… If I say your
name like that, does that mean I’m flirtin’ with you?” LOL, wow!! Oh, and, PO, this ending sounded cold; luv how you say, “Fade,”
now; lol! Such a mix-up from tha Tavo-remixed song? My Rating: 4.3
20.
Madeon feat. Passion Pit “Pay No Mind”
Although
a bad first listen, I wound up likin’ tha previous song, “You’re On” (2/15 PO), a lot better. It even reminded me of me seein’ my
girl, when I gave it its first iPod spin, randomly! And also, back in tha #20
slot with Madeon, with Columbia
on tha label, again. Heard a sample on MCD and it’s just like a dry first
listen, just like how I felt with tha previous song of his. However, with my
girl on tha screen, I might just feel better! Lemme rehear! >>> Again,
anotha dry music start, and there’s no mix to spice it up, this time… Vocals
are kinda yucky for me, almost disco-y, here… Oh, it makes me really miss
“You’re On”; had a lotta great high nights with that one on shuffle! But,
hearin’ this chorus and it sounds catchy/great, despite this plain, slow music…
LOL, real-cold ending? My Rating: 2.8
21.
Krewella “Somewhere To Run”
Anotha
Columbia Records song, back to back… Though I thought I would be anticipated
when it hit MCD, I didn’t think it was that catchy, or was I all Krewella’d
out? Lemme rehear… >>> First few seconds were interesting and now, a
huge, electronic sound… Of course, same exact BPM as Madeon’s song (112), so it
sounds exactly like that pace, only with a lil’ more of a stronger electronic
sound… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds a lot better than I
thought it would; diggin’ tha ‘90s BPMs, now! Tha chorus’ a lil’ catchy, too,
though I feel like it could’ve had better beats than these electronica ones…
Catchy lyrics, too… Nice ending with that music with 17 seconds left… My Rating: 3.8
Overall: Excellent PO!! Outta 21 songs, 17 had at least a 4.0 rating!! Seems
like a classic PO; can’t wait to enjoy these
during tha summer! And, of course, because of this quality, I will make sure I continue to support PO like there’s no tomorrow! And, this was tha 1st
May PO since tha 2012 one where it’s been a great May CD! Not near as catchy as
tha 2012 May CD, since that was, like, my top PO CD of 2012, but this a nice
effort, fasho!
