Only Dance Radio May 2023 iz now here! This edition marks 17 years that I’ve
been reviewin’ tha Dance Radio editions, only tha date doesn’t turn 17
years-old till tha 29th of this month. I’m so glad tha editions are
out earlier than back in 2006… With that bein’ said, it looks like a nice
lineup, so I’m lookin’ forward to seein’ how we gon enter May…! Start Tyme: 6:38 PM | End Tyme: 7:59 PM
Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type
(frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words
instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating
iz my own opinion! I only please myself
wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how
I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine
my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0
rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can
earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ”
iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “
>>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes,
I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could
be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

Kx5 feat. AR/CO “Bright Lights”
Label: mau5trap/ARKADE/AWAL
Kickin’ off anotha edition with Kx5 leadin’ tha way… Sampled this one quickly but now, tyme for me to get tha full dose of it, via tha review… >>> Sounds like a deep start with tha music, even tho tha vocals are cool… Heard them on a Franky Wah track from last year, “Under The Sun”. Now, here we are… Hearin’ tha chorus & it’s cool; a lil’ catchy, I’d say, especially with tha vocalizin’. Almost thought it seemed like a Loud Luxury & Frank Walker feat. Stephen Puth “Like Gold” rendition & lol @ all tha Franks! As far as tha rest of this with tha chorus, it just seems like it progresses in a decent way. My Rating: 3.7
02.
David Guetta, Anne-Marie & Coi Leray “Baby Don’t Hurt Me”
Label: Warner
Let’s see how instant this new collab gon hit tha world…! >>> Feels weird that I have exciting anticipation for this one, after hearin’ tha beginning sound… Sounds like an ear-catcher with tha trance synth vs. 128 BPM vibe gon on… Oh, shit, a whole “What Is Love” remake… Ehh, a lil’ cheap but I guess it goes for a plus? I’ono about Coi’s appearance; sounds like her vocals & lyrics fit in today’s shitty generation of rappers… Didn’t really fit but for an overall track, it’s got me by tha 50/50 perspective. My Rating: 3.5
03.
Regard x Ella Henderson “No Sleep”
Label: Epic
Shout out ta this hot track!! Of course, gotta love Ella & also, how hearin’ tha song for tha 1st tyme, right b4 my Texas trip, made tha title come true! Yes! I got home, left for my full-tyme 13 minutes later & got “No Sleep”! It’s all about how you can channel tha good with tha bad…, energies, that iz! With that bein’ said, definitely nice with tha lyrics, sleeplessness with tha awesome vocals & strong music from Regard…! “Used to be an insomniac…” Glad that, no matter what, I don’t suffer from none of that insomnianess, due to how multi-tasked & multi-talented I am. There’s alwayz room to rinse-&-repeat…! Great job with tha continuous energies, includin’ how Ella keeps tha dance collabz continuously poppin’! My Current Rating: 4.7
04.
NOTD feat. Maia Wright “AM:PM”
Label: Island/Republic
Here’s anotha one that’s been makin’ some noise… A nice collab, with a decent outcome, overall. Just some okay music with slightly-hotter vocals from Maia, here… Just a simple, bounce-up-&-down-like drop that progresses from tha “AM:PM”, I guess? Decent, all tha way through; alwayz a plus for tha Maianess…! My Current Rating: 3.9
05.
TELYKast feat. Georgia Ku “You Got Me”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
Looks like one of those collabz I’m really lookin’ forward to…! Can’t wait fa this one! >>> Off to a quiet start but with a catchier start, just like with “AM:PM” (thanx to tha vocalist for tha slight boost)… Sounds like a good chorus; definitely feelin’ tha energy on this drop a lot more than “AM:PM”’s…! Even tho decent music throughout tha verses, at least there’s a blast of energy throughout tha drop to keep this one exciting…! My Rating: 4.4
06.
Afrojack & Mike Williams “Alone”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Looks like a surprise track… Saw this one out there but musta not’ve registered its exact fastness in my head… Now, it’s here to claim its spot of victory?! >>> Cool lil’ male vocals to make a chorus stand out but wow, tha fuck!! Tha music/drop right after’s DEFINITELY an A+++!! Undeniable!! Reminds me of tha Showtek tymes of a decade ago, only at an AWESOME speed!! Didn’t expect there to be a verse comin’ up but this track continuously keeps shit goin’, on & on & on & on & on…!! Can’t believe how awesome Mr. Jack has been fa 2023, just like how “Lose You” got its huge score from me, three months ago! Now, look how we’ve progressed!! I woulda neva guessed a ***PERFECT RATING*** track was just lurkin’ in tha bushes!! My Rating: 5.0
07.
ILLENIUM & JVKE “With All My Heart (Cedric Gervais Remix)”
Label: Warner
Now, with a new remix… Did it deserve its spot in tha middle of this edition? Lemme find out… >>> Yeah, it seems like it’s okay, if it’s on a house tip to transition thangz… Decent music but at least it seems like just a quickie. I remember tha original bein’ too slow & dry, so this iz a boost of its own… My Rating: 3.6
08.
PLS&TY feat. Lost Boy “Party In My Head”
Label: Seeking Blue
This one looks like a dope collab… >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ slow-dance track or somethin’, I’d say… Tha chorus cool, as well as how tha verses sound with Lost Boy’s style… Overall, it sounds like beggin’ to go have some fun? Like, hot weather comin’, travelin’, all that good stuff…! Do I feel like I love it? Not 100.00% sure, just yet; I think it can be a grower, if promoted right… My Rating: 3.8
09.
Paul Woolford x Lewis Thompson x MNEK “16 Again”
Label: Ministry Of Sound/Epic
Saw this one get out there & I thought it was gonna be one of those huge tracks or somethin’. As far as my likin’, even tho MNEK has gotten props from me, he randomly makes me cringe… This track, it’s okay with tha upbeat dance music but cheesy with this age of “16.” However, I have to say that “16” was an awesome age for me growin’ up with awesome dance music of 2004 – 2005! My Current Rating: 3.0
10.
Oliver Heldens & Kylie Minogue “10 Out Of 10”
Label: Kangarooli Tracks/RCA
Ironic for tha #“10” track? Anotha special feelin’…?! >>> Sounds like an excitin’ start, here… Definitely nice to hear Kylie, once again, with some excitement from OH! I’ono about that male voice comin’ in; sounds like some pride-like delivery/voice? Not really for me… As far as tha rest of this, nice 1st & 2nd verse from Kylie, soundin’ free & up for anything, any tyme! My Rating: 4.1
½tyme: Seems like this edition
has a mix of ups & a few downs goin’ on, at tymes… Mainly, it’s tha high of
tha highs overshadowin’ a few lows… Needless ta say, we’re at a 4.0 for tha average rating, currently, sittin’ on
a nice view…! Not too sure what remains…!
11. The Blessed Madonna feat. The Joy “Shades Of
Love”
Label: Warner
Been seein’ this one get out there but didn’t get to appreciate it like TBM’s previous song with Uffie, “Serotonin Moonbeams”… *Rehears* Weird vocals for me, here & tha slower beats don’t really save this track too-too much… Not really any feedback from me. Oh, how ear-bleedin’ those vocals are, durin’ tha title part! Like, so many notes in “love!” My Current Rating: 2.2
12. 71 Digits x Robin S “Love For Love”
Label: Spinnin’
Will this be worth resurrectin’ fa 2023…? >>> I’ono… Literally, it’s just an okay transition throughout this edition. Nothin’ much to say with this one… My Rating: 3.2
13. Lipless, Tobias Bergson & Mary Leay “Where
Will I Be”
Label: Enhanced
This one looks more promising than tha previous two tracks on here… >>> Sounds good with these new female vocals, as well as tha music… Tha chorus iz cool & tha drop sounds nice with how it sounds! Definitely a nice effort for a slow-paced track of 122 BPM…! Definitely likin’ tha lil’ bridge part b4 tha 2nd drop hits! Definitely nice; definitely feelin’ it more than I expected, now…! My Rating: 4.4
14. PARISI x Steve Angello x Sebastian Ingrosso “U
Ok?”
Label: Warner
Got multiple tastes of this track, recently… It’s crazy to know that, 17 years ago, when I did start these reviewz, I used to say, “[such & such] remakin’ tha ‘80s…,” or whateva. Now, here comes this, I can just go to my own library & say, “This samples tha track that I added on December 3, 2005: Roman Flügel “Geht’s Noch?”!” Like, I can literally get tha date, now… Crazy to be in tha game that long, even tho everything still feels a lil’ tha same, deep down inside. With that bein’ said, definitely “can’t fuck with this energy” ‘cause it’s top Noch?! Yup! Shout out to how these boyz remade Roman Flügel’s Music Choice Electronica throwback! Just tha way Roman Flügel had tha addictive sound on lock, when I had “Geht’s Noch?” on my playlist, ½ my age ago (Age 17), I thought I was tha weird kid that just liked anything in its path. Now, 2023, I feel like I’m tha autistic kid—still “kid”—that just likes anything unique in my path! It’s all about where tha right “energy” comes from & this definitely has plenty of “energy” to export to tha world! My Current Rating: 4.6
15. Jack Wins feat. Stefi Novo “Praise Me”
Label: Spinnin’
Not too sure how this one’ll go but we’ll see… >>> Sounds like a betta start for a JW song & these vocals ain’t that bad… Seems like an okay chorus with some good energy; good energy in tha music, overall. Seems like a decent track, with not much to really say about. I’m just feelin’ how tha music sounds, at tymes… My Rating: 3.7
16. P!NK “Trustfall (Drove Remix)”
Label: RCA
This’ll prolly be only a decent remix/track for me… >>> Decent start with tha quiet music & okay lyrics from P!NK, here… Kinda likin’ tha chorus, especially how she adds tha noun, “Baby,” to tha mix. *Starts thinking of Fred again.. x Skrillex x Four Tet “Baby again..”…* Lol… Decent drop; really, not much to say about this P!NK remix, overall… My Rating: 3.4
17. Matt Fax & Hugo Cantarra “Vibration”
Label: Enhanced
This one looks like it’s gonna be anotha nice one, from Enhanced…! >>> Oh boy, anotha rendition of Loleatta Holloway & that “Vibration”! However, tha energy with tha music’s pretty awesome! Luv how tha surround sound surrounds tha music more than tha vocals, throughout tha chorus part… Even tho it’s a lil’ ehh for tha vocal remake, I’m definitely diggin’ this house vibe of energy & how tha energy iz delivered…! My Rating: 4.5
18. Bebe Rexha “Heart Wants What It Wants (Nicky
Romero Remix – Radio Edit)”
Label: Warner
Anotha appearance from this track, now with Nicky on tha remix… >>> Likin’ that instant start; sounds good, for a bonus remix… Good lil’ drop, I’d comment… Also, I like how strong tha build-up iz b4 tha 2nd drop…! My Rating: 4.1
19. Behani feat. Ne-Yo “Real Man (Sak Noel Remix)”
Label: Stormness
Seems like this could be a special track, with tha new label & Sak Noel on tha remix? >>> I’m likin’ this slower dance vibe. I wanna keep my perspective of tha track in tha right route, so I’ll keep thinkin’ that I’m diggin’ tha unique, upliftin’ music & female, here… Hearin’ Ne-Yo comin’ in to kick off tha 3rd 1/3 of tha track & he sounds like he’s remakin’ old music, in his flow… Ehh, I’d say, it’s an okay collab but nice for a remix, overall. My Rating: 4.2
20. Creeds “Push Up”
Label: Rave Alert/Ministry Of Sound/Arista
Endin’ this edition with… Wow, 150 BPM?! Anotha surprise track?! I can’t imagine but I’m definitely ready!! Let’s end it with a **!!BOOM!!** >>> Interestin’ voice in this, here…! Oh, definitely feelin’ tha whisper in tha voice, as well as how fast this really iz!! Definitely a nice way to be a “Push Up”! Frfr!! Definitely crazy with these whisper-like vocals, as well as how hard tha music hits!! I’ono how tha dance outlets gon appreciate this one but it definitely fits in its own unique bowl of my likings! My Rating: 4.7
Overall:
Wow, this edition had its uppers & downers! Mainly, in a unique way but in
a way that tha uppers overachieved more than tha downers! Seems like a lotta
artists are goin’ a unique route, as far as a faster approach. Also, diggin’
tha alternate routes other artists are goin’…! Can’t wait ta see how music gon
evolve, once my next age comes in June…!
