It’s
about tyme fa anotha Promo Only review! Dance Radio June 2024
iz here!! I have to have a spoiler, right fast: I peeped tha tracklist &
already, I see a 4.8, 4.9 & 5.0-rated track all in one edition! Yep!
We have a bunch of late spring/summer anthems on here, as well as a bunch of
faster tracks! I think we gon have ourselves a kick-ass June 2024, especially
with my upcomin’ trip to Hawaii, fa my birthweek!! Five weeks away!! This
edition definitely gon define why I’m so happy, these dayz!! Can’t wait
ta hear & analyze what we got fa this tyme around…! Start Tyme: 6:28 PM | End Tyme:
8:41 PM
Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type
(frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words
instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each
rating iz my own opinion! I only
please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it,
I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics.
To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least
a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty
much really love it, as it’s
considered mindblowin’ when I hear
it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “
>>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I
type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha
future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

LF SYSTEM “Lift You Up”
Label: Ministry Of Sound/Epic
Kickin’ it off with this, I’ll say, random one outta tha bangerz of already-released tracks… Courtesy of Music Choice Dance, here’s anotha one from tha LF boyz… I like that tha pace iz upbeat, as well as it soundin’ more dance-housey than disco-housey fa them. Kinda gives me MK-type vibes with how they have tha female vocal take over tha house… My Current Rating: 4.0
02.
Chris Lake, Sammy Virji & Nathan Nicholson “Summertime Blues”
Label: Black Book/Astralwerks/Capitol
Here comes 1 of 3 of tha bangerz…!! What’s even more amazing iz… Three weeks after my Hawaii trip, I’m drivin’ 800+ miles to see Sammy Virji live at The Caverns, in Tennessee, July 19th!! Craziness!! I’m gonna rave in a cave!! Sounds like somethin’ you’d say/think of while you’re high… However, especially now with me flying to Florida in two weeks, I gotta wake up & smell these vacations comin’ up, in this fast lane!! With that bein’ said, as far as track, I’m feelin’ how they got a Boxer Rebellion singer, who I’ve heard three songs from in tha last 10 years, to collab on tha vocals & definitely sound awesome on this!! Definitely luv how he delivers tha catchiness with tha “Summertime Blues”! Oh, I hope this becomes a huge one fa this summer!! Can’t wait for its evolvin’ success!! Tha buildup & then, Sammy does his shit with tha hypnotic drop! Luv how Chris & Sammy collaborated, especially with how Sammy does his magic on tha hypnotic drop & breakdown part, right after tha 1st part of tha song’s complete! Just like tha 1st ½ of tha song, tha 2nd ½ iz just as dope! Been a long minute since I saw tha length of a track, b4 seein’ what it was & knew instantly which track it was! Go, “Summertime Blues”! More excitement to come!! Hope tha best for tha three of these guys!! My Current Rating: 4.9
03.
Danny Quest feat. Melanie Fontana “Oxygen”
Label: Danny Quest
Awesome to see this independent release this early in tha Dance Radio edition’s tracklist. Got a sample from tha POOL player, recently & was happy to hear anotha track from Melanie! Crazy that our “Summertime Blues” dude was tha 3rd track I heard from him in 10 years & now, this literally tha 3rd track Melanie Fontana has been on Dance Radio in tha past 11 years! Whoa… with… tha tymes…! As far as this track, I definitely feel her vocals, still! Feelin’ tha vibes of D-Quest & I hope this one gets nice exposure, too…! Catchy how Melanie says tha title part… Deep with how she “abandons [her] lungs,” too! My Current Rating: 4.4
04.
Lily McKenzie “Pressure”
Label: Major/Warner
Tha 1st brand-new track on this edition & I’m anticipatin’ tha 132 BPM, for a str8-up newbie!! Track 04 of 20, too! >>> Likin’ tha faster-soundin’ beats & how she gives me Eliza Rose-type of newbie vibes…! Sounds interestin’ with tha buildup & how tha excitement continues, through & through…! Sounds like a dry-soundin’ drop, tho tha dryness would mainly be defined with a 124 BPM-paced slap-house track. With these faster ones, tha fastness keeps my excitement up, so tha interest doesn’t get bored in tha brain! My Rating: 4.5
05.
Jhay Rivas “Safe With Me (Secretos)”
Label: ALT:Vision
When I look back at two Junes ago, when I suffered my two slaps to my face, I now alwayz think I’m rewarded for life in a double perspective! From tha dayz of “B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)”’s doubled casino bets in freeplay to now, I continue to feel it strong! Neva woulda thought music would be continuously faster, these dayz, especially to have two 132 BPM tracks, back-to-back! Woulda neva expected those odds durin’ this decade, b4 my violence! Tha violence transcended music evolving in a major way! With that bein’ said, as far as this track goes, this 2 of 3 of tha bangerz that’s out now that I’m really feelin’!! Caught me off-guard, durin’ my busy schedule, that Diplo’s Revolution had it a lil’ earlier than I could get to peep it out… Now, I luv how strong tha beats & buildup are, includin’ how tha vocals are laid down!! Definitely luvin’ tha excitement & safeness tha track brings, all throughout! Can’t help but to think a lot about euphoric things with this one, includin’ that I have up to 18 casino trips of freeplay, this month! That’s a lotta excitement to enjoy with these special tracks!! Also, definitely dig tha dark-soundin’ outro, at 3:24!! If this what tha future sound like, then I think I’m continuously on a golden path! I literally have to admit it, when I was saying it in my head, recently: “I got tha world by tha ballz & there’s nothin’ any1 can do about it!” No lie…! My Current Rating: 4.8
06.
PLS&TY “Overdrive”
Label: PLS&TY
S/O to them, where they had my Iowa/Mount Rushmore trip memory of last year’s “Party In My Head” w/Lostboy. Now, let’s see how they bring this self-released “Overdrive” to tha table… >>> Sounds like a decent lil’ dance track & tha vocals kinda remind me of Lostboy. Tha 125 BPM, too, with tha summer approaching. I feel like this’ll be a grower fa me; we’ll see how it does in tha world. My Rating: 4.3
07.
Elderbrook & George Fitzgerald “Glad I Found You (VIP Mix – Club Edit)”
Label: Mine
Should be a decent lil’ track, with a VIP Mix, now… >>> Sounds okay; doesn’t really seem like his voice, at first. Sounds like some good music to progress life to… Nice collab, between tha two. My Rating: 3.8
08.
Sick Individuals “No Drama”
Label: Robbins
Not too sure what this “No Drama” gon be like… >>> Likin’ tha music start, so far… Definitely anticipatin’ more of this track & glad it’s a brand-new one fa me! Catchy female on tha vocals, here! Reminds me of some1 I would grow up lovin’, durin’ tha late ‘00s! Sounds like a nice chorus, tho it seemed like it breezed by so fast! “No” drop? Everything else sounds dope, for tha most part…! My Rating: 4.3
09.
DJ Snake & Peso Pluma “Teka”
Label: DJ Snake/Interscope
Oh no… Hope it doesn’t go downhill! >>> Oh boy, that voice & Spanish lyrics! Yuck…! Only thing that stands out fa me iz tha repetitive, funny-soundin’ title part. This where tha dry-soundin’ parts are actually dry, when they’re under 128 BPM, imo. My Rating: 1.9
10.
Deerock x Sammy Adams “Used To”
Label: Big Night
Been seein’ this one on Music Choice Dance, tho neva really paid too much attention to it to give it a sample listen… >>> Sounds like a good lil’ dance track, basically. Anotha one to progress tyme, durin’ these great tymes… Not much to really say, except that it’s a good addition to tha world. My Rating: 3.8
½tyme: Definitely, for tha most
part, on a euphoric level!! Definitely felt a lot of tha 1st ¼ of
this edition, in many wayz!! Definitely summer-defining! A 4.1-rated edition, currently. I finna get my grub on,
right fast. Then, it’ll be back to this edition! *Goes to eat at 7:20 PM…* *Returns
at 7:46 PM…* “Back to this edition,” it iz!
11. Huntr & Philip Strand “Fix Me”
Label: Robbins
Likin’ this collab & I hope Philip rolled “the dice,” properly, pun intended! >>> Startin’ off with a rock-dance vibe, which I’d have to get used to… Likin’ tha way tha chorus lead right in to tha 1st verse… Sounds like a good lil’ track, even tho that chorus has to grow on me. Tha 2nd verse sounds nice to hear, too, courtesy of that “electricity.” My Rating: 3.7
12. FISHER x Jennifer Lopez “Waiting For Tonight”
Label: Catch & Release
Wish I could like this one more. My brain feels like this reminds me more of a remix than a remake… Would’ve rather’ve heard a new J.Lo collab w/FISHER than to rebirth this one. Just a blah… of feedback from me, here… My Current Rating: 2.2
13. Diplo & Riva Starr feat. Kareen Lomax
“Heaven Or Not”
Label: Higher Ground/Mad Decent
Been seein’ this one out there… Didn’t really cling on to it. I let its exposure do its thang… Sounds like a good lil’ summer vibe, between tha three of these guys… I seemed a lil’ lazy with this one, but I’ll give it its props. I luv how it’s Riva Starr’s 2nd appearance since tha 1/14 Dance Radio! Think: “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat” to… 6/24: “Heaven Or Not”, lol. My Current Rating: 3.5
14. PARISI feat. L Devine “Lights Out”
Label: FFRR/Major/Warner
This one iz on fire!! 3 of 3 for tha bangerz that I’m really feelin’, right now!! Definitely somethin’ bright to brighten up tha 2nd ½ of this edition!! Heard it on SXM & felt real special from it! Knew it sounded like tha voice from tha previous track, “Believe In Myself” & I latched on to it so fast!! Gotta luv when PARISI & L Devine link up! I luv how this starts off with tha chorus & it literally reminds me of somethin’ like bein’, as I’d say, “Edibled up,” or as a high/rush was coming! “I feel it coming on. This pleasure in my head’s getting very strong. It’s blowing me away, barely holding on…” Whoo! That’s why I latched on to tha lyrics in a major way, to go with tha music & title part!! Definitely what’s up with how creative these PARISI boyz be!! It’s in tha Italiano, I guess? Definitely somethin’ special, in today’s world! Gotta luv that this whole vibe “hit me in tha face like a hammer!” Yeah!! “Lights Out”! Addicted to their special, uplifting sounds!! My Current Rating: 5.0
15. R3HAB & Jason Derulo “Animal”
Label: Spinnin’
Lmao. What a transition! From a HUGE track to a slower collab w/Jason Derulo! Hoping for tha best, I guess…? >>> Sounds like a good, betta-than-average vibe, here… Somewhat-odd vocals from J-Derulo, even tho tha R3HAB music helps, frequently… Likin’ how they “go,” when it comes to tha “Animal” title part following tha action/verb. We’ll see how this one’ll do, in tha future. Will it be a grower for me? We’ll have to see it make its way in to tha world. My Rating: 3.9
16. Above & Beyond “Blue Monday”
Label: Anjunabeats
Alwayz an awesome feeling to see A&B on PO. However, I’ve been seein’ this remake out there & I didn’t latch on to it. Seems like so many tymes you would see this remake pop up… I kinda like that, at least, A&B iz payin’ their respects to New Order, for these 2020’s headz. Sometymes, you get a progressive-house version of their “Blue Monday”, while other tymes, you get their ‘80s-like vibe, throughout tha chorus. I like how tha ending drop iz more on tha progressive side, too. Then again, needless to say, just like tha Jennifer Lopez collab with FISHER, it sounds too much like a remix than a remake, to my brain. My Current Rating: 3.6
17. Luca Schreiner “Complicated”
Label: Ultra
Love to see Luca back on PO, in such a more euphoric, energetic way than his pandemic appearances! I’m so glad I survived those tymes with a lack of fear! Even gettin’ tha COVID tha year after Luca appeared on tha 1/21 PO, my violence was literally less than two months later & strength-wise, it made me feel immune to COVID & most bullshit of today. Power to my growth? As far as this track’s exposure, I love how this one’s been doin’ pretty well, in tha dance world! Luv his 140 BPM-type of energy & I hope he continues to make more fast bangerz like this one! Quick, in-your-face, energetic-typeness! My Current Rating: 4.7
18. Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike &
Gabry Ponte “Mockingbird”
Label: Musical Freedom
You know what hasn’t happened since Promo Only Elite Issue #3?! Remakin’ Eminem! From Drunkenmunky’s “E” to this, here comes a new track I discovered tha other day on SXM… Gonna have to see if I can get used to tha vocals more, tho those beats are definitely pure! Definitely feelin’ tha combo, between tha four DJs! Can’t deny their acknowledgement to tha faster vibes! My Current Rating: 4.2
19. Becky Hill “Right Here”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Sad to see her “Never Be Alone” track go away, now… However, it’s good to see this one make its debut in to tha world. Definitely luv her interest in Drum & Bass music, includin’ collaboratin’ with Chase & Status. Alwayz a special vibe when DnB comes in to play! Glad Becky will always have a place “Right Here”, to mark a “home” for tha people. That’ll be me in tha long run, when it comes to my future studio home. My Current Rating: 4.1
20. Dimension x Alison Wonderland “Satellite”
Label: Dimension
Definitely feelin’ tha vibes of Dimension, between his “DJ Turn It Up” track from last year, to this! Definitely awesome to collab with A-Wonderland, especially with tha “high” feelings of a “Satellite”! Definitely luvin’ how tha beats are as fast as 172 BPM, at 0:55! Also, tha music at 1:18, durin’ tha drop! Definitely somethin’ awesome to appreciate! That’s that 100.00% mentality that I have! “I’ll take you high, like satellite.” My Current Rating: 4.5
Overall:
Definitely thought this went over in a1.n awesome way! Definitely luv how tha
world of dance music iz evolvin’ & maintainin’ a faster way of deliverin’
tha quality I love! I will keep livin’ up tha moments & I can’t wait till
this rave-in-a-cave event with Sammy Virji!
