Review #2,063: Promo Only "Dance Radio May 2025"

Reviewed on 4.12.2025 (Review #2,063)

Whoo! It’s been an awesome year fa music, so far, but some of my moments & financial income don’t match up to tha greatness, right nah. At tymes when I’m home, I usually just sleep stoned to my playlist, after my full-tyme, every day. It speeds up tyme too fast, which may make these songs awesomely-nostalgic. It’s just, every week, I just hope everything continues to hang in there fa me. I’m still editin’ tha live review for tha previous edition, which iz almost done. Just gotta put some soundbites & videobites to finish it off. Fa now, while I’m in such a zoned mood, I wanna review Promo Only Dance Radio May 2025, now that it’s tha weekend! Lookin’ forward ta this edition, with a few familiar tracks from my travels by Killa McClain! Start Tyme: 5:12 PM | End Tyme: 6:48 PM

Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type (frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

01. AFROJACK feat. Paige Cavell “Never Forget You”
Label: Wall/Create
Kickin’ off this edition with an awesome upbeat vocal from Paige Cavell, joined by A.F.R.O.J.A.C.K.! Love how you can feel Paige’s vocals in tha beginning. That “I will call you later” reminds me of what Killa McClain would hit me with. Gotta follow-up, properly & responsibly, to tha 100.00% maximum! With that bein’ said, nice job with tha 1st verse, slowly buildin’ up to tha chorus & how tha drop built up ta drop nice! Glad it’s a lil’ faster than tha average dance track; gotta luv tha 130 BPMerz, too! Tha 2nd verse iz pretty nice, too, as Paige can’t get away from “a lie.” Rough, especially tha “I hold ‘em like a grudge” part; I can feel that one! We’ll see how much bigger this one’ll be. It sounds like summer iz ready fa anthemic anthems! My Current Rating: 4.4

02. Alesso x Becky Hill “Surrender”
Label: Interscope/Capitol
Looks like a collab that finna hit tha dance masses hard, with its 140 BPM!! Glad Alesso hopped on to tha fast pace! Got to hear it durin’ tha week & now, I’m gonna give it its review. >>> Definitely feelin’ tha fast-fast start, with Becky comin’ through with her usual catchiness…! DEFINITELY luvin’ tha fastness of tha 1st verse, includin’ tha chorus!! Whoa @ tha drop & this AWESOME fastness that can’t be denied!! Definitely can’t take this for granted, ya heard me?! This a **SPECIAL MOMENT**, imo!! I can’t believe I’m goin’ with tha **PERFECT RATING**!! Just luv, luv, LUV tha fastness & how these two collab’d!! Them 140 BPM-paced tracks go in such a golden category fa me, like Alok, The Chainsmokers & Mae Stephens “Jungle”—their 140 BPM-paced “Jungle,” I’d call it! My Rating: 5.0

03. Martin Garrix & Arijit Singh “Angels For Each Other”
Label: STMPD
Likin’ that Garrix iz speedin’ it up a lil’, but I heard this track out there & I don’t think these male vocals were catchin’ on to me, very well… >>> Kinda like his other male-vocal anthems better, based off the way this sounds. This still a nice effort, tho; ‘preciate tha energy. Tha drop cool; again, just anotha nice effort applied, but only okay fa me. Tha rest of this just flows nicely, with tha energy & decent vibe it brings to my ears. Again, nothin’ disappointin’; just has to grow fa me. My Rating: 3.8

04. Kaskade x Lipless feat. Poppy Baskcomb “State Of Mind”
Label: Enhanced
Saw this one get out there, earlier in tha week… Sounds like one of those slower-type of Kaskade’s feel-good tracks? >>> I guess so; nothin’ much to really say, based off tha start. I wanna hear it develop… Tha drop a lil’ on tha chill side; it’s really just a SiriusXM Chill-type of track. Sounds like Poppy Baskcomb on tha vocals, based off my research… Anotha cool collab from them, like “Heaven Knows”. My Rating: 3.6

05. Calvin Harris “Smoke The Pain Away”
Label: Columbia
This one can pass—not “puff, puff, pass,” tho! He returned to his vocal self, here, but I’m not feelin’ his basic, 128 BPM-type production, includin’ that harmonica! Like, Calvin, are you now on a farm?! I don’t wanna see people eat this one up. Can’t see this bein’ a “Summer” anthem, like he would’ve said 11 years ago! My Current Rating: 1.9

06. Alok & Alan Fitzpatrick feat. bbyclose “Friday, I’m In Luv”
Label: CONTROVERSIA/Spinnin’
I had a good feelin’ I was gon put tha hours in, this entire weekend & I am, currently! Why I “luv” tha feelin’ of “Friday,” ya heard me?! This lil’ anthem from travelin’ with me to my most-recent Louisiana visit has made it on to here & that’s an awesome look!! Definitely a dope-type of “Friday” song, to where we’re all “in luv!” With that bein’ said, ya heard me? “Luv” tha way this sounds, between Alok & Alan + bbyclose! Gotta luv tha today feelin’ of that high! Definitely “luv” this anthem with tha “pick-me-up Thursday,” like tha weekday I get my full-tyme check! My Current Rating: 4.8

07. James Hype “Don’t Wake Me Up”
Label: Republic
Luv this anthem I forgot to add, while I saved tha screenshot in Louisiana, through #BetaBPM wit Liquid Todd. Now, it’s makin’ its noise around & I’m happy for such an upliftin’ anthem!! Again, tha BPMs make things seem much-more awesome, these dayz!! Luv whateva tha voice iz, on tha track… Cool lil’ 1st verse, but definitely an awesome chorus & drop!! So anthemic!! Hope it goes down in history fa creatin’ some awesome moments fa this future!! Definitely luvin’ tha energy on tha 2nd chorus!! Gotta luv all tha energy!! It’s unstoppable!! A cool lil’ bridge wit tha “uh-oh; oh, oh” part, includin’ that chorus comin’ right after! Also, of course, tha drop!! My Current Rating: 4.8

08. Vicetone x Linney “Opposites”
Label: Departed
Ooh, look at this collab!! Will it go down in history as one of those collabz like Frank Calhoune x Killa McClain?! I hope so!! I’m anticipatin’ it!! >>> Sounds like a good lil’ start, with Linney’s vocals soundin’ a lil’ more electronic, this tyme… Still, cool music from tha Vicetone boyz, as tha track starts developin’…! I expected some more exciting-type of sounds/music, durin’ tha drop. Just sounds like tha beat’s progressin’ in a more electronic-type of way. Still, cool to see these two on a track! I know they’ll make a pure, 130 BPM-type dance banger, in tha future! Tha rest of this ain’t too bad; just a house vibe, overall. My Rating: 4.0

09. GT_Ofice, Matthew Topper & Petie “Something New”
Label: Caine
Of course, I go to Louisiana to hook up with a Petey from tha 337 & tha day after I got back, I checked tha POOL Player & there was a Petie on this new track! Luv tha irony & I luv tha way these three collaborated on this one! Cool lil’ vocals from tha Petie dude, here, but I’m feelin’ tha piano/upliftin’ vibes, here. To GT_Ofice: It’s been such a road fulla “darkness,” within these past 12 months! A lotta euphoric ones, but a lotta ones that hurt hard! With that bein’ said, I definitely feel tha energy Petie brings to tha track with GT & Matthew T! Definitely luv tha energy on tha drop!! Definitely pure; gotta define ourselves as pure talent! Tha 2nd verse sounds cool, too; I’m locked in—I’m tuned in! Tha rest keeps tha excitement & energy goin’!! Hope this one gets its share in tha world, especially GT’s wish of SiriusXM BPM! My Current Rating: 4.7

10. William Black & Kate Morgan “Save Me”
Label: Lost In Dreams/Insomniac
One of tha many songs I added from tha POOL Player, recently… This one doesn’t stick-stick in my head, just yet, ya heard me? However, its 138 BPM iz definitely appreciated! Now, lemme rehear what we got wit this one…! *Rehears* Oh yea, this one… Cool two artists, here…! First tyme hearin’ ‘em! Maybe, anotha pair of tha next Frank Calhoune x Killa McClain, when it comes to collabz?! Definitely feelin’ tha fastness of this track that came outta nowhere & iz now on here! Definitely a cool chorus & tha drop speaks itself, courtesy of volumes! Luv tha fast 138 BPM-paced vibes to make this one progress thru!! Tha 2nd verse cool, too; anotha reason to luv life, basically. My Current Rating: 4.5

11. PARISI feat. Naomi Sharon “Feel It For You”
Label: Parlophone/FFRR/Major
Saw this one on tha POOL Player, too… Oh, do I luv-luv PARISI!! They give me such futuristic vibes with my travels with Killa McClain, explorin’ tha world! Cool music to go with tha female vocals, here… Definitely “feel” so interested, as they set tha stage with tha upbeat house vibes, here…! Just get nice & high, get in a zone & just “feel” tha energies of this track, ya heard me?! My Current Rating: 4.6

½tyme: Definitely feelin’ tha edition so far!! Luv how my Louisiana trip was a success, to where there’s so many new tracks that are fuckin’ awesome!! A 4.2-rated release, currently & I’m excited ta hear what continues ta lie ahead!!

12. Fedde Le Grand “Rude Boy”
Label: Reliant
>>> Tha worst one had ta come up first! Not in to a Rihanna remake; seems corny to remake her songs, nowadayz! No comment, basically. My Rating: 1.0

13. Zeds Dead feat. Naomi Wild “Vertigo”
Label: Deadbeats
A cool lil’ vibe I heard & took with me to Louisiana, ya heard me?! Diggin’ tha slow vibe, includin’ my girl, Naomi Wild’s voice! Just sounds like some deadmau5, mixed with alternative beats & it’s definitely that Louisiana memory for me! Definitely a cool lil’ nostalgic vibe, between tha mau5 & alt. comin’ through, constantly! Definitely an awesome combo, all tha way round! Gotta luv tha 2nd verse’s start, “Vertigo, I lose my grip.” Like that I got ta hear tha title part…! Also, tha vocalizin’ ta outro tha track out. It’s real crazy what this song got ta witness in person, tho!! That’s tha whole difference between tracks that went with me to Louisiana vs. ones that weren’t made, yet!! My Current Rating: 4.5

14. Marten Lou “Your Body”
Label: Major
Lil’ slow for a Major-released track… I’ono, I’ono… >>> Almost thought it was gonna remake Tom Novy, but no, Justin Timberlake, here, includin’ Vanessa Marquez (tha female). Lol, I’ono… Just like Rihanna, I don’t picture Justin Timberlake bein’ remade. However, tha drop sounds like a guilty pleasure, on tha chill tip. Literally, such a random remake, but sounds & feels good, randomly. I’m definitely likin’ tha music; I feel like it can pass thru to my world…! Such a random way ta feel good, based off how Marten manipulated JT’s 2000’s nostalgia cheese to a feel-good house track! My Rating: 4.3

15. Major League DJz x Jorja Smith “Come With Me”
Label: Epic
Alwayz see tha MLDJz name & get it mixed up with Major Lazer… Seen this one get out there, but it sounds like this edition’s slowin’ down, now…? >>> Sounds like an okay dance track, but a lil’ too slow fa “me,” overall. Tha 1st verse only okay, as well as tha chorus. Good try on tha high-pulsin’ drop, accordin’ to what it sounds like for me, but just an okay one. I’ono, it sounds like an eerie track, as if slow-type of dance tracks are gonna make a memory, durin’ these post-truck-accident tymes…! My Rating: 3.5

16. James Mac “Breathe”
Label: Robbins
Speakin’ of eerie, of course, tha good eerie, with anotha James on this edition!! Pretty crazy—tha most-impactful name fa my tyme, in tha industry!! With that bein’ said, only 123 BPM, so I’ono what I gon face, here… Anotha remake? >>> I did guess right! Again, I’ono what we should do with these, these dayz? Here comes Blu Cantrell… Surprised I liked tha Justin Timberlake one tha best. Still, just seems like such a random remake! It was only my 3rd year doin’ year-end countdowns & err-thang, when tha original 2002 one came out! Now, look at how it’s makin’ an impact in 2025! How will it do, lol? Just basic/okay fa me; no excitement, overall. I feel tha same ‘bout tha rest, too… My Rating: 3.0

17. Dom Dolla feat. Daya “Dreamin’ (Anyma Remix)”
Label: Three Six Zero/Columbia
A nice lil’ bonus, here… Ain’t really pay too much attention to any remixes, since tha original seemed fast & good. Now, let’s see what we got wit this one… >>> I like that intro a lot, includin’ that it’s long! Good job, Anyma! Nice job with Daya, of course & tha drop sounds pretty cool! It sounds like this track got a revival? Not that it went away, but I thought it was gonna be on its way. Now, here comes this remix & it should keep this track alive, fa a while…! Definitely enjoyin’ tha music on this one! It feels like it’s a different song, but with a futuristic house twist from tha original’s Louisiana experiences! My Rating: 4.4

18. Tate McRae “Sports car (TELYKAST Remix)”
Label: RCA
Definitely admire Tate x TELYKAST’s collabz, like a Frank Calhoune x Killa McClain one, ya heard me?! Hope this one iz a catchy one, as she makes anotha random appearance in tha world, ya heard me? Luved when I heard “Greedy” playin’ thru tha Hawaii grocery store’s speakers! Oh, Hawaii!! Can’t wait fa my next special birthweek trip in two months!!! >>> Sounds like a random track? Like, a track tryna sound cool? Not too sure how I can feel it in my bonez, but it sounds good… Okay, okay! I’m feelin’ tha drop at 0:53! That’s an awesome effort & I’m glad that made me have more interest in this! Gotta luv both of y’all!! My Rating: 4.2

19. Morgan Seatree x Florence + The Machine “Say My Name (Sub Focus Remix)”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
A hilarious bonus, right chea!! Luv how while I was doin’ my music work in Louisiana & tha remix from tha February edition that’s huge was in my head, remindin’ me of that trip! Now, here comes this Sub Focus version & it’s pretty nice. Luv that Florence gets to go on a drum-&-bass ride, here! Hopefully, it’ll make Florence + them have some original, fast-paced tracks in tha future, one day? Needless ta say, definitely luvin’ tha craziness of tha chorus, especially when tha end of tha chorus repeats at 2:10!! A whole 13 seconds of craziness, swept in tha mist of all of it!! My Current Rating: 4.3

20. Rudimental x Khalid “All I Know”
Label: Room Two/Arista
Got ta hear this earlier in tha week… Didn’t realize it was a new-new track, ya heard me? >>> Definitely likin’ how Khalid blends in with these drum-&-bass/jungle-type beats! Definitely a cool route ta go, especially with Rudimental makin’ an appearance, here! Gotta luv tha fast vibes of, what I like to say, 180 BPM?! Tha rest of this cool; it’s that fastness that breezes by, like it’s nothin’!! My Rating: 4.5

21. KSHMR feat. Izzy Bizu “Diamond In The Rough”
Label: Dharma/Spinnin’
Forgot there was a 22nd track!! Oh boy!! Can’t wait fa this one, especially with tha Izzy Bizu collab from tha previous edition (Jonas Blue)!! >>> Sounds like an interestin’-type of song, based off tha beginning… Likin’ when tha chorus kicks in, includin’ tha title part & how these claps in tha music makes things sound intense & fast!! Ya heard me?! Tha chorus lead to a nice-soundin’ drum-&-bass track!! Definitely a cool lil’ drop that came & went!! Tha 2nd verse sounds good ta hear, as well… Awesome track; awesome collab! My Rating: 4.4

22. Ofenbach “Need You The Most”
Label: Major/Warner
Endin’ with only 75 BPM? Dunno how to take a slow track, or iz it gonna double ta 150 BPM? What will my mind get triggered by…?! >>> Sounds like it’s gonna be either or? Sounds a lil’ fast, in tha beginning… Oh, it didn’t waste any tyme!! Tha fastness kicked in; true 150 BPMness fa me, here!! Definitely an awesome jump to tha drop, from tha chorus!! Sounds like it’s a fast-type of anthem that I definitely gotta appreciate!! Oh, definitely a nice 2nd chorus!! Luv how tha fast beatz are there!! Luv how it surprised me, at tha end!! Also, when tha music breaks down, after tha 2nd chorus!! Gotta luv it! Definitely feelin’ tha strength of tha music & vibe, here!! My Rating: 4.7

Overall: Definitely a HUGE way ta end such an awesome edition that gives me even more hope fa my future, ya heard me?! Luv tha high rating for tha ending track, ya heard me?! Lots of future nostalgia & I can’t wait ta see what tha world gon have in store with these musical memories!!
