Review #146: Promo Only: Dance Radio November 2008

Da da da… it’s FrankieThaLuckyDog! I don’t really have that much time (since I’m makin’ my brand new music video, “Change Tha World”) but I gotta do this… Here goes my review for Promo Only Dance Radio November 2008; not too anticipated but who knows… Start Time: 7:28 PM | Video Game Playing: Secret Of Mana (for Super Nintendo) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. P!nk “So What (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit)”

Yeah tha song’s a lil’ weird/cool but I’m glad BJ are gettin’ better at their remixes; makes me like tha song better. I like all tha “na-na-na-na-na-na” parts and tha music iz at its peak on tha chorus! :tu I also like tha transition parts before tha 2^nd verse/bridge wit tha “check my flow” part. :tu My Current Rating: 4.2

02. Lasgo “Out Of My Mind”

High AL for tha comeback of Lasgo (they haven’t had a Domestic release on my sources since tha “Hold Me Now” joint back in tha Summer of 2006). >>> Tha music in tha beginning reminds me of The Mac Project/Therese “Another Love”. Oh yeah, this song has tha record for most AL points I’ve had for a song (for anticipation): 22!! This iz a pretty cool beat and I’m prolly gonna like it more as it’s played more and more on sources worldwide. I thought this was gonna be more vocal-trancey rather than a cool type of beat type of song but it gets my thumbs up. My Rating: 4.0

03. David Guetta & Chris Willis w/Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso “Everytime We Touch”

I’m not even gonna say anything for before I listen to it… I’m just gonna “:rofl :rofl :rofl”!! >>> It’s not a cover up to Cascada (as I would’ve guessed) but just decent so far. Music iz pickin’ up towards tha :37 mark… I know CW has a strong voice but I can’t really get into this right now… Now, I can say “Tomorrow Can Wait” was easily better… And with this song havin’ a WHOPPIN’ 3 DJs (DG, SA & SI), it didn’t really catch onto me that much. My Rating: 3.4

04. Shontelle “T-Shirt (Josh Harris Radio Mix)”

Deserves to have tha “Edit” in tha mix (not tha “Mix” ‘cause it’s not good)! Tha original iz way too slow and sadly, this iz tha best mix for this song (and it’s not good). Mike Rizzo’s mix (110 BPM) sounds like he jacked a Hip-Hop/R&B producer’s beat and made it into his own, while Ray Roc’s mix iz still slow (120 BPM) and nothin’ special. I mean, where iz someone to mix it 142 BPM and at least make it better? Not likin’ tha slow JH sound; bad/plain/boring song + bad remix = garbage song/mix for me. :( Oh yeah, I’m hatin’ MCD for puttin’ it in heavy rotation… C’mon, stop dickridin’ mainstream Pop/R&B artists and their remixes MCD. :td My Current Rating: 1.9

05. Captcha “Close 2 Me (Original Radio Edit)”

This I’ll hopefully be lookin’ forward to…! It’s signed to Next Plateau Entertainment (still pumpin’ out those BANGIN’ Dance songs) and tha artist’s name iz tha name of a “captcha,” lol. Let’s see… Iz it better than Lasgo’s song? >>> Already I can tell it’s better… An interesting beat start and great female vocals in tha beginning. Tha verse sounded better than tha chorus but tha music sounds pretty good, especially after tha chorus. With it bein’ signed to NPE, I wonder how it’s gonna do in tha mainstream Dance scene… Yeah, that 2^nd verse was good too and tha music was kinda slower on tha 2^nd chorus… Maybe Lasgo iz a lil’ better but we’ll see how this does for me in tha future… My Rating: 3.8

06. Leona Lewis “Better In Time (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”

I’m sick of every PO havin’ tha highest BPM song bein’ a HM, especially from JN. I mean, where’s a fast, actual Dance song. Anyway, unlike those 4 JN remixes on tha last PO, this iz easily better than those; great HM here. I’m glad her vocals are bein’ noticed wit tha mainstream stations; she’s always great for a Dance remix! My Current Rating: 4.0

07. Booty Luv “Some Kinda Rush (Soul Seekerz Radio Edit)”

Bringin’ an import back from tha dead… And still an import on PO… This iz remembered now as a HOT Dance joint from this year, not still heard. Anyway, SS have been usin’ that same “Handle Me” type of sound in their beats (e.g., “American Boy,” “Daddy-O,” “Into The Nightlife” all sound tha same wit their SS remixes). They need to go back to tha Leana “Embrace Me” sound ‘cause that’s tha SS sound I loved! Not really lookin’ forward to see what they did to BL… >>> Last year, tha No. 7 song was “Shame Shame Shame” remix by David Morales; they did like tha same thing here for No. 7 on this CD, bringin’ back an oldie and remixin’ it. Good thing tha SS sound iz actually different for this remix! Of course that chorus has ALWAYS been bangin’; it should’ve went into tha chorus before tha 1^st verse though ‘cause that’s how it caught my attention, in a BIG way, when I first heard it January 25, 2008. Good remix but this didn’t need a remix… at all! My Rating: Original Version: 4.9 | This Mix: 4.1

08. Velvet “Chemistry”

MCD obsessed “Fix Me;” now it’s so less played on there. Let’s see… This’ll prolly be anotha bangin’ song from her! High AL for this right here! >>> Sounds like a September beat (almost remindin’ me of “Until I Die” wit tha BPMs). Good thing tha beat iz more dancey… Tha chorus sounded hot! Tha verses are pretty nice too but that chorus has it goin’ on! Great Dance song right here even though I liked “Déjà Vu” better from her. My Rating: 4.2

09. Brandy “Right Here (Departed) (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)”

As soon as I get to start to LOVE tha original (REAL great R&B song), a remix comes out… And it’s from MB sadly. :( C’mon, where’s Lenny B or someone to make it A LOT BETTER! >>> SMH at MCD spellin’ her name “Brandi” (wit an “i”). Damn, this iz so speeded up, lol. No quality feel in tha music ‘cause it’s MB remixin’ it; shit. :( Gotta luv tha 2^nd verse though, where “if you can’t breathe, she’ll breathe for you;” great!! 3:30 on tha length? Wit all this speeded up shit, this would prolly be like 2:39 or some shit like that; too many boring interludes in this (wit tha music and tha “I’ll be right here with you” parts). Somebody else please remix this! My Current Rating: 2.6

10. deadmau5 & Kaskade Feat. Haley “I Remember”

Let’s see what tha “mouse” (which iz how you pronounce tha “mau5” in his name) and Kaskade did again… >>> Of course, another great track from them; sounds a lil’ like “4:00 AM”’s music, only even smoother. :) Anotha great Dance song put together by tha both of them. :tu This iz so great to relax to when you’re studying or just wanna take it easy; who would’ve thought “Move For Me” did REAL, REAL GOOD (reachin’ No. 1 on tha Billboard charts)! Great voice on tha vocals and as always, on a deadmau5 and/or Kaskade track, tha vocalist iz neva revealed… My Rating: 4.0

11. Chris Lake Feat. Nastala “Only One”

PB got it and there’s a featured artist revealed on it. Lemme find out their name (it’s a female)… Okay, got it! It’s Nastala. Let’s see… Will dM5/Kaskade’s song be better? >>> Wow, it’s over a minute less than dM5/Kaskade’s song… Wit that buildin’ up type of intro, I thought it was gonna be better… Not sure if I can take all tha “take time before ya” parts… Oh, it’s gettin’ too repetitive for a song only 2:39 on tha length. Way too short and needs a lil’ work. I also thought tha vocals were gonna be better, especially since their workin’ wit Chris Lake. My Rating: 3.1

½time: I knew it… Wasn’t too anticipated at first and not even a song higher than 4.2 I think… Hopefully tha rest can pick up as there’s still SOME hope at tha near-end…

12. Paul Van Dyk Feat. Lo-Fi Sugar “Haunted”

This better be better, since it’s tha highest BPM for a Dance song…! >>> Okay, now this iz what I thought Chris Lake’s song was gonna have a lil’ of, but it didn’t. Feelin’ those vocal trance vocals and that nice beat. I like how it got quiet for a sec around tha 1:02 mark. Halloween just ended, but I guess it’ll be like Deepsky & Jes “Ghost” and have an after effect. Catchy verses/vocals/chorus/beat (all catchiness)! :tu Wow, this iz tha best song so far? My Rating: 4.3

13. Madison Park “Come Out And Play (Lenny B Radio Edit)”

I like how there’s 5 original mixes in a row (this iz tha 4^th one). I HOPE MP has a real great new song as I have a lot of AL for it (prolly my highest, personally)! >>> Sounds like a Lenny B beat (PO error?); that’s watz good! :tu I’m glad we FINALLY have a shocking-sounding song on here for me! :) Feelin’ those vocals (as usual) and that REAL NICE beat! Pretty close to a 4.6 rating but I gotta do it 4.5 style; definitely nice to have tha No. 13 song ALWAYS great on PO! My Rating: 4.5

14. No Halo “Put Your Hands On”

An import (Hed Kandi, like Booty Luv). Let’s see… Expectin’ somethin’… >>> Sounds like old Dance music in tha beginning and it almost sounded like Therese in tha beginning… Maybe this could be catchy but it’s not catchin’ on too much for me; maybe it just needs exposure… Decent song. My Rating: 3.7

15. Sultan & Ned Shepard Feat. Kuba Oms “Jeopardy (Dave Audé Radio Remix)”

Let’s see this brand new Yoshitoshi song… Hopefully DA made a great remix to whateva this song will bring! >>> LOL @ tha tickin’… Those ‘80s rock sounds in tha beginning have me wonderin’… Iz there words? There’s some in tha background… Finally, at 1:19, I hear some words… Sounds weird/different and I’m gettin’ into it; not your typical PO song! What will this be like? I saw tha CD single and it’s a female… High AL! >>> Sounded like ‘90s Dance music wit tha vocals/music. Pretty nice so far, definitely gonna pay attention to this; automatic 4.0+ rating! Good thing for DJE/JV that tha music sounds different (and not tha usual JV sound); feelin’ it so far. Interesting wit tha “eat you up” parts. Oh yeah, this song iz signed to 3 different labels (and I don’t even know one of ‘em, lol). Anotha “outta left field” PO song! My Rating: 4.3

17. Chris “The Greek” Panaghi “Time Will Never (Fade Me Away) (Georgie Porgie Radio Mix)”

Lookin’ forward to C”TG”’s new joint but I don’t know if he should have anyone remix it… I mean, he’s a good DJ/remixer himself… Not sure if GP will handle it; lemme find out… >>> A lil’ too soulful for me on tha start… Not even Amber Dirks on tha vocals? :( Yeah, no need for GP to remix this… Not really catchin’ onto tha vocals as it sounds like a dude… Now those “away… fade me away” parts are gettin’ repetitive. Tha music sounds best on those “away… fade me away” parts though. My Rating: 3.5

18. Darude Feat. Blake Lewis “I Ran (So Far Away)”

More unexciting shit to look forward too… :( A “dance vs. dance” song (as PODR1/07 had A Flock Of Seagulls vs. The Angry Kids “I Ran (So Far Away) (Beckstein’s Radio Cut)”. This might be better and I’m expectin’ tha music to be real good but c’mon, for Darude, not a remake, or should I say… dance vs. dance! >>> Quiet start… Tha other one had tha music to start it off… Has some “Tell Me” elements in tha chorus but no, a lot worse than tha other one. :( 2^nd verse picked up in tha music… Darude, please stick to faster, vocal trance tracks, not this mainstream soundin’ crap that was done better almost 2 years ago; nothin’ really caught on here. Too bad because it’s signed to Robbins that it’s gonna go everywhere while tha other version didn’t ‘cause of its label… WOW!!! My Rating: 2.8

19. Freemasons Feat. Katherine Ellis “When You Touch Me (Mike Rizzo Radio Edit)”

I know MR bein’ great at doin’ tha remixes but does FM really need a remix? They’re OUTSTANDING enough wit their original versions. Anotha song my college played… >>> I know I didn’t want a remix to this song but it sounds pretty good for a start. I thought she was gonna say “kickin’ your ass.” :rofl She’s got that STRONG voice for tha track so that should be good for this! Great music from Rizzo as he made it a correct remix! I guess it’s cool that Katherine Ellis had tha No. 19 on here but ALSO on tha last PO wit Bimbo Jones and “And I Try”. Oh yeah, this another import since no one Domestic got it (since it says tha label iz “Loaded Records”). My Rating: 4.2

20. Robin Thicke Feat. Mary J. Blige “Magic Touch (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)”

OMG what tha fuck???!? Yeah, it pissed me off THAT MUCH to where I had to say/spell out “what tha fuck” instead of just “wtf!” It’s like, what iz this old June song doin’ remixed all of a sudden? Where did “touch” come in tha title and where did Mary J come outta? Those weren’t in tha original. BTW, I HATE MCD for puttin’ this RANDOM thing in heavy rotation!! >>> Just hearin’ tha beginning and that stupid MB music! :td Mary sounded good on tha 1^st verse; good thing for her or else even lower rating from me! Wow, her part was so short? LOL @ Robin on tha 2^nd verse… SMH @ these short verses… Do we need to hear tha chorus so many times? Wow, short verse too… Another bridge or w/e @ 2:10? Ugh, that chorus again! UGH, IT REPEATED!!! Good job wit Mary on it but other than that, BLEH to tha fullest! My Current Rating: 2.2

21. Jesse McCartney “It’s Over (GIMO Mix)”

Yeah, this shitty edition of PO iz almost “over,” but even though I underestimated “Leavin’” remix back on tha March CD, definitely a high AL for this fast mix! I expect a whole lot so it better help! >>> Of course, tha great start. :tu Great beat on tha 0:07 mark! I thought it was gonna be more upset/darker beat but it still sounds pretty good. My Rating: 3.9

22. Larry Tee Feat. Princess Superstar “Licky (Hervé Mix)”

Tha last one… Got a huge AL for PS bein’ on it. Looks like MCE material… >>> LOL @ tha beginning… Funny and a weird beat. LOL @ tha horn at 1:12. It even has some MCE elements in tha music from Tittsworth/Kid Sister/Paserock “WTF” around that part. At least I’m gettin’ a smile here… LMAO @ those “L-I-licky-C-licky-K-Y” parts; how cheesy, especially without tha music. LOL @ tha “licky like a postage stamp.” :rofl Good humor and pretty neat song. My Rating: 4.0

Overall: End Time: 9:30 PM. Well, tha January 2008 CD was tha worst PO this year… This iz right behind that. Since I didn’t even rate a song 4.6 or higher, that means not even 1 song got that “I’m obsessed wit it on a 1^st listen!!!” feeling from me; Madison Park was close though (congrats on her gettin’ tha crown). Even though there was a bunch of Dance songs on here, they didn’t have tha quality I wanted to feel… And those shitty-ass/below average HMs were not called for also.

Frankie here… ‘bout to go to Long Island tomorrow. Before I go, gotta review tha latest Promo Only Dance Radio series! Not really in a reviewin’ mood but I do have anticipation right now for this CD! We’ll see what happens and I might give higher ratings right now ‘cause of tha 2 special friends I made at my college: Alexia and my dude Foreman. They make my dayz real good at tha college so expect it to be added to tha ratings! Here goes my long-waited review for Promo Only Dance Radio October 2008! Start Time: 10:34 PM | Video Game Playing: Secret Of Mana (for Super Nintendo) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. Kim Sozzi “Feel Your Love”

I knew it was gonna be on PO sooner or later and now, wit how thingz are goin’ at my college, I’m FUCKIN’ LOVE this song!!! GREAT music (sounds like deadmau5 on tha beat) and Kim Sozzi has anotha real good Dance song on her hands!! :tu >>> Oh wait, different start but STILL LOVIN’ that tha music kicked in SO FAST!! Just ‘cause of tha beginning, I knew that tha part at 2:46 (which was just music) was cut off (‘cause it was now in tha beginning). I still feel tha need to boost tha rating by a 10^th than what I was originally givin’ it. My Rating: 4.7

02. Hilary Duff “Reach Out (Richard “Humpty” Vission Remix Edit)”

Not really lookin’ forward to tha next bunch of songs as there’s 4 whopping hit mixers in a row! This’ll prolly be tha one out of tha 4 that I’m lookin’ forward to tha most. What will tha Duff do now? >>> I knew it was gonna be a cover up but I thought it was gonna be to a Dance song by Faith Trent from 2002 called “Body (Reach Out)” but no, Depeche Mode cover up. Decent vocal start so far, good music. I guess Dance stations get Hilary Duff now before Pop stations, lol. Music iz gettin’ better throughout tha 1:45 mark. Lots of music to this. Oh there’s anotha 50 seconds to go. Wow, nice and long it feels like, lol. Good job on this. My Rating: 4.0

03. Michelle Williams “The Greatest (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”

Liked tha original so let’s see this remix… Oh, PO LOVES JN this time ‘round as there’s like at least 4 songs remixed by him? Wow, lol! >>> Almost got thrown off by tha beginning for a second wit that rockness in tha music. Got a lil’ better at 1:00. Lookin’ forward to hearin’ what tha chorus sounds like… It sounds like tha same as what tha 1:00 mark was. This could’ve been more trancey than rockish in tha music for this song. Not bad on tha remix. I just like those parts before tha chorus a lot. I wonder what JN remix will be tha best on this CD? My Rating: 3.8

04. Keri Hilson “Energy (Wideboys Radio Edit)”

She has a new song wit Lil’ Wayne on Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B called “Turnin’ Me On”. I thought this song got old now… >>> Tha beat sounds a lil’ like a different version of their mix to “Faded”. Not bad so far… maybe I’ll have more interest in this remix later. That chorus could’ve had better music throughout it ‘cause it sounded like tha “Faded” mix. Tha end of tha chorus was nice though! Oh look at tha bridge, tha music iz just vibrating in my ears! :) Tha song iz great though! :tu My Rating: 3.9

05. David Archuleta “Crush (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”

Not looking forward, especially since it’s tha fastest on tha CD… >>> Tha music sounds better on this than tha MW remix. Can’t really get into tha song but tha music iz nice and fast. :tu It’s not as bad as I thought it was gonna be for me. Startin’ to slowly feelin’ it. My Rating: 3.5

06. Danny Dove & Steve Smart Feat. Amanda Wilson “Need In Me (Whelan & DiScala Radio Edit)”

I think that’s supposed to be “Di Scala”… But anyway, ALs are just very low right now ‘cause of all that’s goin’ on wit hit mixers and songs I know. Kinda was done wit this song once August ended. Surprised it got domestically signed by Nervous Records (was gonna think Ultra since they go for Freemasons’s Loaded Records releases). I think this iz a fuck up mix compared to tha original ‘cause tha original was REAL, REAL HOT. Lemme re-hear this mix and see again… >>> And it’s a minute and 16 seconds longer… A lil’ too smooth start compared to tha original. Oh yeah I heard this mix on Radio Danz (on tha blog wit Dance music). Chorus kinda had a good part wit tha music. It’s soundin’ too much like Adam K & Soha wit this… Yeah, chorus best part!! I mean, tha remixin’ iz good but it should’ve been for a different song, especially since W&D are pretty good wit their remixes. My Rating: Original: 4.8 | This Mix: 3.7

07. Sylvia Tosun “Underlying Feeling (Adam K & Soha Radio Mix)”

Speaking of AK&S, here they are, makin’ tha RIGHT remix for Sylvia Tosun! Glad she’s got anotha song and FEELIN’ IT A LOT MORE now at college!! :tu Her voice, lyrics and tha music iz just A+ on this!! :tu I hope this iz tha start to tha CD gettin’ REAL HOT!! So GLAD MCD got their hands on this first! It goes to show you that they care right away (even though they ignored “Head Over Heels”). Hope iPR gets this (since they first played “HOH”). I’m in love! Go Sylvia!! :) My Current Rating: 4.9

08. John Legend Feat. André 3000 “Green Light (Karmatronic Radio Edit)”

Oh shit, a bump in tha road! C’mon, Sylvia Tosun was leadin’ tha way…! :cry: Original iz better (especially wit its like 150 BPM). I don’t like when it sounds all watered down. :( *Re-hears* >>> Sounds too weird wit tha slow vocals. Ugh, 128 BPMs or however fast it iz. LOL @ André 3000’s random appearance after tha chorus. :lol: Well, André’s rap izn’t in this. I mean, good music but someone else who had a SMALLER BPM on their original version could’ve taken this beat. Ugh, MCD for puttin’ it in heavy rotation so fast! My Rating: 3.6

09. Chanelle Hayes “I Want It (7^th Heaven Radio Edit)”

Looks MUCH better! Maybe we’re back on tha road wit this CD!! I gots a high AL for this, especially since it’s a girl and 7^th Heaven on tha mix! Oh yeah, anotha Next Plateau song so EVEN MORE AL!!! >>> A short song… Uh oh, tha beat iz comin’ up!!!! VERY SEXY on tha vocals and GREAT, BANGIN’ music by 7^th Heaven!!! :tu Wow, Next Plateau ain’t playin’ games when they sign songs!! I swear, I’m gonna mention them in a rap I do for a mixtape, sayin’ somethin’ like, “like Next Plateau Entertainment, I’m gonna give you a good deal” (that line would refer to my connection wit Louisiana rappers/DJs/managers/CEOs/etc). Yeah, very consistent throughout this song and for tha 2^nd time on PO, I give this a **PERFECT RATING** (1^st time was “Dance With Me (Klubjumpers Radio)” from DJ Russ Harris & Tiffanie on tha September 2007 CD)!! My Rating: 5.0

10. Brian Anthony “Worked Up! (Love To Infinity’s UK Radio Edit)”

Okay can this live up to Chanelle Hayes? This has a good mix, a content warning and an exclamation point title so I got a high AL for this! Hope it’s what I wanna hear!! >>> Pretty nice music. Sounds a lil’ alike and a lil’ different from Kristine W’s “The Boss”. Vocals are pretty good for this track and this creates a pretty good mix right here. I’m feelin’ it so thumbs up! Wow PO, that LAST second (wit tha “damn”) made you put that content warning huh? LMAO! My Rating: 4.2

½time: ½ and ½ so far. Tha decent hit mixer start but 3 MAJOR bangerz on here so far!! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ tha rest!!!

11. Kaskade Feat. Tamra Keenan “Angel On My Shoulder (EDX Radio Edit)”

Nice original version. Let’s see tha mix PO put on here… >>> Very long intro… 52 seconds long. No content warning wit tha “hell” on here PO? LOL @ you! I guess this mix iz good but nothin’ stick-outable for a remix. I think I’ll stick wit tha original; nice song though! My Rating: 3.9

12. Yves Larock Feat. Jaba “By Your Side”

Ooh this song… Gotta say that… I might have a… **NEW DANCE SOURCE!!** Marywood University, where I’m goin’ now, has a Dance music show Thursday nights from 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Now originally, it’s not a new source to me ‘cause in tha Spring of 2003, I had listened to an underground urban show on there (which was REAL GOOD) and it disbanded in December 2003. :cry: I didn’t really listen to them for a while and then, in class, we had to review an hour of music (1-2 page paper). I didn’t know any shows at tha time (I wanted to review an urban one) so I just reviewed an Alternative one. They luckily had some Electronica music play (very little) wit a lot of Rock that I didn’t like. I wrote in my paper, “they should play more Electronica artists so they can get tha exposure and money they need.” Tha teacher called me “a fan” in my paper and then anotha student suggested tha same thing so tha teacher said “do we have any Electronica shows?” One of tha students (who works for tha local radio station there) said “yeah; Thursdays 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM,” so tha teacher put it on tha board and I listened tha next evening. First song I heard was Morgan Page Feat. Tyler James “Call My Name” (decent iPR song). 2^nd song I heard was Armin Van Buuren Feat. Sharon Den Adel “In And Out Of Love” (MCD song that I majorly IC’d). Then a bunch of PO songs came on (from BenDJ Feat. Sushy “Me & Myself” to Lenny B Feat. Nadja “Radical”) and then some newer songs (some song sounded like “Summerfish” wit tha music) and then this played (didn’t know tha ID ‘til I saw it hit PO). I liked it and it sounds a lot like “Rise Up” in tha music. Here goes my listen again! >>> Yeah, sounds nice. Anotha good mainstream Dance song. Nothin’ much to say but… it’s good. My Rating: 4.1

Also: I listened yesterday to tha show for a few seconds all ‘cause it was mixin’ and there was a few older songs mixed… I liked tha show when I first heard it where it was tha 1^st hour of Radio Edit songs and tha 2^nd hour was tha mixin’.

13. Kristy Kay “I Will Wait (Giuseppe D Radio Mix)”

Not just Dauman Music but Koch Records iz back!! Hope they have somethin’ in stock for me!! High AL again for this!! >>> Yes, feelin’ it so far. A nice, new song wit a fresh sound. Sounds like Giuseppe D a lil’ wit those effects that happen throughout tha song. Catchy song wit real nice vocals. Wonder what’ll happen wit this song in tha future? I like tha club type of outro at tha end (where it sounds like tha end of a club mix). Nice rating from ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog! My Rating: 4.3

Anotha Radio Danz song I heard (I don’t use them as a source but when I’m on that Dance music blog, I listen here and there to relax)… Real hot too! Dying to re-hear and glad Next Plateau got it domestically!! >>> I thought it was gonna be a lil’ softer but nice mainstream feel. Wow, HOT, HOT music!!! Real nice lyrics throughout tha chorus!! :tu Lovin’ tha “feels like I’m floating on water” line. :tu **DUNN DUNN DUNN** THIS JUST IN: It was a YEAR TODAY (now that it’s October 11, 2008) that I talked to my boy Jimmy The DJ, wanting his 1^st mixtape CD (who paved tha way SOOOOO much for my connection wit Louisiana rappers/DJs/managers/CEOs/etc.) now that it’s EXACTLY 12:00 AM (only 11:00 PM on 10/10/08 where he’s at since it’s an hour back, lol)!!! It made me a MUCH HAPPIER person and MUCH MORE respected, especially wit these reviews!! But yeah, FLAMIN’ HOT joint right here!! Lovin’ lots of this CD!!! :tu :) My Rating: 4.9

No need for a “No. 16 faith” now that there has been TONS of bangerz on this CD! It was an import and now Ultra has it… Interesting mash-up (I call it) here. Sounds like new lyrics in tha verses. Tha chorus/pre-chorus iz to Daniel’s 2003 single “If You’re Not The One”. Nice right here. MCD has it in heavy rotation. My Current Rating: 4.0

17. Tiffany “Just Another Day (Dave Audé Radio Mix)”

Tha 2^nd Dauman Music song on here. I have a feelin’ Kristy Kay’s iz betta than this but who knows. Hopefully this iz a lot better than “Higher” and that Dave Audé put some magic into tha beats and didn’t make them his typical ones! High AL on this joint! >>> Okay, definitely a good Dave Audé beat here! Glad he did put some GREATNESS into his beats for this! She’s soundin’ good on this! Age don’t matter honey; you’re doin’ good! :) Yes, I have COMPLETELY FULL ATTENTION on this joint right here as tha music and her vocals get me REAL interested in hearin’ this! This iz like 10x more better than “Higher”!! LOVIN’ it and I’m glad she’s still makin’ music! If my sources ignore this song then FUCK THEM!! Here we go… MCD got tha… original! :confused LOL! But yeah, good thing for tha remix bein’ on here. Gonna re-hear it even though it sounds a lot like tha original + JN’s style. >>> Maybe it doesn’t sound like tha original… Well, maybe tha chorus. But soundin’ good still. Gotta feel tha JN elements added! Nice lil’ “end of Summer” song. Tha video’s coming out so it’ll be a “Fall 2008” song too. Nice remix and I’m replacin’ tha original wit this remix on my playlist. If this gets a real high rating from me, I’ll be surprised! I feel like there’s a lot of luck wit this CD…! Now they’re tha DJs for tha song so we’ll see what happens… >>> Intro didn’t start wit their usual sound; sounding GREAT! :tu And because it’s Bimbo Jones (as tha group for tha song), that sounds like Katherine Ellis on tha vocals (since she’s a part of tha group; can tell by that loud voice). Nice lil’ song right here! Interesting, mainstreamish song right here. I hope it gets its respect in tha mainstream! My Rating: 4.4

20. Jordin Sparks “One Step At A Time (Jason Nevins Radio Edit)”

*SCREAMS* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh, it just GETS to me!! It reminds me SO much of tha Alex McConduit dayz when I would listen to his shows all tha fuckin’ time on Crescent City Radio (‘cause I started to really like tha song finally after I saw tha video)! I wish things were exciting again (I still got lots of respect for him)… I won’t go there though. That’s what happens when a phase I have dies… Anyway, they put JN as tha mixer instead of Mike Rizzo? Gotta hear MR’s mix but for now, I’ll have to put up wit this slow, 122 BPM JN mix (AGAIN!!). Very low AL. >>> Oh those vocals! They’re so good, Alex McConduit dayz go right into my head when I hear them! Good music here (prolly tha best produced JN mix on here; maybe). Oh that chorus! It gets to me when I hear it!! Wonder what this iz… I know Wyclef’s a singer and will.i.am’s a rapper/producer. Melissa Jiménez had one Pop/R&B song last year so hope this iz a good mix to whateva this song iz… None of my sources have tha original/neva saw it anywhere ‘til now. >>> LOL @ Melissa! :rofl Good thing there’s some good E Smoove music in it. I thought this was pretty random to be on PODR… Like when tha title iz said so many times in tha chorus. I have a feelin’ this’ll be a song that gets ignored in tha Rap/Pop world but will prolly be that heavy rotation MCD song, lol. I liked it though. Typical type of urban remixed song that I would like. My Rating: 4.2

I’m back and even though this CD has been shipped real late, it’s here!!! :) And I feel so bad delaying it an extra day. That’s ‘cause I had college ‘til 10:00 PM yesterday and I was tired/I wanted to do this during tha late afternoon. But now I’m here (got off at 4:00 PM) and ready for this! I feel real anticipated for it!! Here goes tha long awaited review for Promo Only Dance Radio September 2008!! Start Time: 5:55 PM | Video Game Playing: Blast Corps (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Laurent Wolf Feat. Eric Carter “No Stress (Radio Edit)”

At first I thought it was a girl (‘cause of tha “Lauren” in tha name) but no, it’s a producer (Laurent Wolf) featuring (which PO left out) a guy (Eric Carter). I would’ve liked tha song better if it was a girl but it’s just okay. Tha only thing great about this song iz tha great lyrics and somewhat good music. Due to tha topic of tha song, I think it’s gonna be a REAL BIG song in tha dance world! My Current Rating: 3.7

02. Cascada “Faded (Wideboys Electro Radio Edit)”

Oh no a PO fuck up mix. :( Really, NOBODY should remix Cascada UNLESS you can remix their songs FAST. I don’t like any of this watered-down Cascadaness. Cascada = fast & tight to me. Tha 1^st newbie for me and I’m excited and anticipated… Gots AL on this and whether or not it’s a cover to tha ‘90s song, I’m gonna try and feel this, especially since it’s from Next Plateau! >>> It iz a cover and sounds great. Tha girls on this sound nice and hot and that music iz bangin’! Great way to cover a song (or should I say “dance vs. dance” one). My Rating: 4.4

Wonder what this’ll be like… >>> I like that beat so that’s a plus. It had a great intro. Tha vocals are pretty good so far. Heard it on MCD and before I looked at tha ID, I thought it was Amanda Wilson singin’. Saw on Perfect Beat that it’s a remake and I think it’s good. >>> I’m glad I have my stereo loud right now ‘cause it makes tha review better. Tha vocals are great and tha chorus iz tight, along wit that beat! My Rating: 3.9

Heard it on MCD also but iPR got it a month earlier. >>> This sounds like it has a slightly different intro than MCD. It’s still hot though. Compared to that one song she had in 2006 that was over tha Sean Paul “We Be Burnin’” beat, this sounds a lot hotter and better! She even looks good too. :) And I can’t agree wit that title right now ‘cause it was 96 degrees out today!! MCD doesn’t have that Akon part on tha bridge. Go PO and BOO to MCD! I like when Akon says tha “got you on ice” parts during tha chorus. Real bangin’ music in this! My Rating: 4.0

Even though it’s MB and their same beats, at least this iz long and faster (129 iz fast for them, lol). Glad they got a remix for this song so fast. I like those “A-N-G-E-L”s after tha chorus. Really feelin’ this remix a lot! My Rating: 4.0

I’m really glad they chose this mix (that MCD plays a lot) over tha original (which iz slow at 127 BPM). MCD really loves this song as when they first got it, it was on AT LEAST 5 times that day!! And she’s a hottie! :) Gotta feel tha music when tha chorus comes in and somethin’ about it that it’s just great! Glad MCD just got that through their brain. :tu My Current Rating: 4.3

Hopefully tha consistentness doesn’t stop… This song only has 90 BPM… *GULP* Not really havin’ tha AL for it even though tha AL points came up to 19 when I did tha preview… Statistics don’t prove it all tha time… >>> It’s a girl… Wow how unexpected… That rockness in tha beat iz odd too. It’s good for a pop song too. Wonder how it’ll do in tha mainstream/dance scene? I like it. Great vocals (she must be hot)! My Rating: 4.0

Hope this iz a girl too but tha mix loses my AL ‘cause I don’t really like tha “nu soul” mixes/I think they’re just decent. Let’s see… >>> Yeah tha beat iz too plain/soulish but it gives me a feel to give it a chance. Tha vocals are pretty good and tha chorus iz not bad. I’ll give credit to this song/mix. My Rating: 3.8

Oh I forgot this was coming up!!! Lots of AL for this song!! Hope it’s as good as “By My Side”!! >>> I love tha beginning so far wit that slow intro/slow verse and now I hear tha beat towards tha 1:00 mark. Pretty hot so far! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ what’s next! I’m now LOVIN’ that slow part again!! This iz a start to tha 2^nd ½ right here!! Hope it does get tha recognition as “By My Side” did! Two different songs and this one iz just too good! :) My Rating: 4.7

12. Kreesha Turner “Don’t Call Me Baby (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit)”

It’s signed to Capitol Music Group, tha same label as Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue and some pop artists. Took a quick listen on YT and it sounds like tha original had some BPM/sounded dance. This could be more of a comeback for Dance music in tha mainstream maybe (look @ Katy Perry’s new song, “Hot N Cold”. Nice 132 BPM song)! And no, it’s not a cover up to Madison Avenue so we’ll see what tha Bimbo dudes did to this! >>> Glad it’s got a REAL NICE beat in tha beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!! I’m feelin’ it and it’s a pretty cool song so thumbs up. Nice hook too and (of course) that beat! I don’t even have to need to rehear tha original now that I know that this iz REAL HOT!! My Rating: 4.6

A lil’ oldie… Had tha original in May (exclusively). MCH was all over tha original and now it’s gone. Nobody plays… I guess it’s now time for it to go into tha dance world wit this remix. Liked tha original a lot so hopefully a great remix! >>> Great intro (didn’t quite sound like him at first). Great comeback for Lindsay too (too bad it didn’t get too much exposure in tha pop world as MCH only had). Oh yeah and Ne-Yo did a good job writing this song. Great remix again! Wow tha 2^nd ½ of this CD ain’t bullshittin’ right now!! Great shit! My Rating: 4.3

REAL GLAD they put this on here… But what’s tha label? This CD lists it as “Promo Only” on their site (LOL). MCD and MCE got different mixes but this original version iz tha real deal! Remember that HUGE “Lightning Strikes Twice” song by Saint Etienne I loved and played to death 2 years ago? Well, Sarah Cracknell iz tha lead singer of Saint Etienne so I had to have AL when I first heard it and it’s hot! *Listens while writes* Great vocals, music and that NICE chorus wit tha “rain came down” parts. Really feelin’ it (even though tha title doesn’t appear in tha song). Really feelin’ that title though! Hopefully people get on this original version (like iPR or someone else) ‘cause it’s what matters here! Nice ending too to end a song! My Current Rating: 4.4

Got my bets on this song right here!!! HUGE 141 BPM (and Thrive/ThriveDance on tha signing so that’s different for them) and I got tha AL points for this!! It had tha same as tha AL I had for “Goodnight Tonight” by DJ Scotty K & Knockhopper (20 AL points) so that’s REAL BIG right there!! EXTREME amount of AL for this one! Don’t care if it’s remake or not!!! >>> Sounds like Celine Dion in tha beginning. What will happen? I hear a lil’ Cascada music here!! That chorus iz REAL good and tha part after that was REAL TIGHT!! Wow this iz on some HOT SHIT!!! My Rating: 4.8

Got my high AL right now waiting! >>> Tha intro iz tight and I’m glad to hear Inpetto remixin’ other shit than “Toca’s Miracle” and that chorus was HOT and tha beat after it iz REAL HOT!!! Sounds like an Adam K & Soha or deadmau5 effect!! :tu GREAT vocals and I LOVE how tha song ended wit tha word “embrace.” HOT SHIT!! My Rating: 4.5

*Sigh* More old shit… *Waits to hear Georgie Porgie’s song FINALLY* Had this remix in June (so did iPR) but mines was only 134 BPM and this iz 139 BPM. They couldn’t throw her new song, “Hot N Cold”, on here (they had to do an “oldie”)? There’s a commercial on MTV Hits promoting a “Totally Dance 2008” CD featuring a lot of Rap/R&B/Pop songs that are upbeat and then tha 1^st song that comes on iz this remix so that’s a good look. Anyway, I fuckin’ loved this song so much and my 4 year old brother Dylan started singin’ it (1^st song he eva sung) so lemme hear where these extra 5 BPMs are coming from… >>> LOL @ tha music. It sounds like MCE music and it’s different… This izn’t tha same mix I had… My mix was better (and it was from Jason Nevins too, lol; his “Rock The Club” mix). It sounds good though. MCE should get it ‘cause it sounds like one of their 2003 rare songs. They don’t really get a pop artist’s remix anyway so this’ll prolly be somethin’ no one iz gonna play. My Rating: 4.3

ANOTHER oldie?? LOL!! This CD iz mixed wit REAL HOT shit along wit OLDIES!! I had this in April ‘cause Party 105 was IC’ing it as a PICK. I played it ONLY in May and now all of a sudden, Party 105 put it on their playlist. Originally on Eric Prydz’s Pryda label and now on Ultra. And PO left out tha “Presents Pryda” part ‘cause that’s what I saw when I found this song. Anyway, good electronic trance wit a “pjanoo” (lol). Tha RE I have was 40 seconds longer around so we’ll see what happened wit this RE. >>> Tha intro I had started wit tha “pjanoo” and this one had a different start but still was good. This RE sounds great, especially since all tha music kicks in ‘cause wit tha one I had, it took like a minute and 15 seconds. Sounds a lot better than tha RE I had. Good job Ultra for signin’ and for this song havin’ some life now! My Rating: 4.3

21. Georgie Porgie “Can You Feel That Sound (Josh Harris’ Radio Mix)”

Finally up to this song!! After they collaborated on “I Believe”, I know I wanna hear a new Georgie Porgie song, especially since JH iz remixin’ it again! Very high AL!! >>> YES GOOD SHIT RIGHT HERE!!! Great way to end tha CD!! At least GP ain’t afraid to sing tha song (and not have a DJ featuring him). Tha beat iz real hot and tha chorus iz tight too! I actually like this a lot better than “I Believe” and I’m glad JH was tha one that was special enough to remix this! Great shit!! My Rating: 4.6

Overall: End Time: 7:52 PM. WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE CD!!! WOW that whole 2^nd ½ was ALL SONGS I loevd wit at least a 4.0 rating or higher!!!!!!! Only 1 bullshit song on this CD (tha “Faded” remix; they should’ve had tha original on here)!! I think this was statistically tha highest rated CD (especially on averge) I’ve had on PO CDs so far! I knew this was gonna be a classic and just delaying it made it better!! Last year’s September CD was REAL HOT and this iz just as HOT, only more mainstreamish but still REAL HOT!!
