Reviewed on 1.17.2021 (Review #1,954)
Whoa…;
where to begin…? First, I wanna say, Happy 2K21! Second, due to my new car’s
lack of album characters in its display names, instead of titling these reviewz
as, say, Promo Only: Dance Radio February
2021, I will now use Promo Only
as tha artist name, instead of a part of tha title & Dance Radio February 2021
as tha title name. It may look better but that’s what I’mma go with. Third, I
almost wasn’t sure when I was gonna get to this review, due to a controversial
situation I was dealt with, just three dayz ago. Bein’ a leader for Kevin
Gates, back in tha late ‘00s/early ‘10s, I would upload some of his tracks on
my YouTube page. One of ‘em got over 2,000,000 views & I was proud to be a
leader of him, in my area. However, his former label, Dead Game Records,
randomly put 15 copyright strikes on my uploads, causin’ my YouTube to be
temporarily terminated/disabled! That means, not only do I lose 14 ½ years of
hard work on there but all my live Promo Only reviewz won’t be accessable. Not
to mention, I seen tha tracklist of this edition right after tha strikes &
thought, “I already know a bunch of these tracks & not too many seem
anticipatin’; I may be called a ‘hater,’ this tyme!” Luckily, after beggin’
& expressin’ my “promo only” luv for what I do (not for money), I finally
got a response from tha label & (hopefully) 2morrow, they may reverse tha strikes! Like,
literally; I was just rottin’ in my bed, just surfin’ for solutions & now,
thanx ta this review, I was able ta finally engage myself inta somethin’ I
like! So, without further or do, let’s see how we do…! Start Time: 8:05 PM | End
Time: 9:29 PM
Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type
(frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words
instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each
rating iz my own opinion! I only
please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it,
I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics.
To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at
least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I
pretty much really love it, as it’s
considered mindblowin’ when I hear
it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “
>>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I
type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
Sometimes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha
future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

Sleepwalkrs feat. MNEK “More Than Words (Oliver Mac Remix)”
Label: Big Beat/EMG
Startin’ off with one of tha—if not, thee quickest 1st song on an edition, eva (2:18)?! Already a BPM adder (original version); how will this remix go? I expect better; almost thought it was a remake, when I seen tha title… >>> Seems like an okay start, between how MNEK’s vocals blend in with tha beat, on this remix… Yeah, hearin’ tha title part makes me think of a remade title, tho this sounds like a slightly-remade vocal performance… Likin’ how tha climax kicks in, as tha chorus progresses…; drop sounds decent for me but progresses nicely, as well. Based off my initial instincts, I feel like a bunch of these are goin’ to be in tha 3.0’z… My Rating: 3.7

MIME & GT_Ofice feat. Linney “Young Hearts”
Label: alterEGO
Label: alterEGO
Got
an alterEGO reppin’ for this next,
anticipatin’ collab…! Prolly one of tha only unknown highlights, here; leggo…!!
>>> Sounds like a nice start; Linney’s Tritonal collab ain’t do as
good as its review score with me, mainly due to tha less-productive fall I had.
Glad I like how this sounds better; definitely a nice, new, pure start! Gotta
luv tha pre-chorus; glad our Linney gettin’ proper luv, these dayz; go 2K20—‘s, that iz! Tha drop sounds okay; anotha one of those semi-plain drops, tho
not boring, here. Gotta luv tha lyrics about always bein’ for tha “Young”—“Hearts”,
that iz! My Rating: 4.6

Keanu Silva, YouNotUs & Sam Gray “Say Hello (Riddler Radio)”
Label:
NHMM
Was
unsure which kinda track/vibe Riddler was gonna get thrown into, since a lot of
his recent remixes haven’t had close tha touch as tha throwback dayz of Mynt,
Al B Rich—those tymes. Now, with tha kinda luck I had today, I made a rare joke
in my head & said, “Imagine tha Riddler track on this edition gon be 130
BPM, like it was seven Februaryz ago (Yones)!” I thought tha odds were nowhere near
with me, as well as my YouTube contro, but it seems like, if you wish for it,
it may come true!! With that bein’
said, I DEFINITELY am lookin’ 4ward
& am HOPIN’ for 100% GOOD VIBES…!!! >>> Kinda
reminds me a lil’ bit of tha Yones vibe, surprisingly. Less-anthemic, tho true
to feeling with tha male vocals… Sounds like an okay chorus; sounds like it can
be a good grower like Yones did, after tha 1st listen. Yones had tha
#39 song fa me, on my Top 655 Songs of 2014; I’ont think this song’ll get that
high with me but it’s a good follow-up opportunity…! As far as tha rest of tha
song, shit, just “Say Hello”; make tha initiative! Okay lil’ track, overall. I
didn’t have proper access to tha shmoked-out moments, durin’ Yones’ appearance.
Now, it’s easy-peezy, as this may be a higher 1st-listen rating but
I did like Yones (4.2) a lot betta, later on…! My Rating: 4.3
04.
NERVO & Carla Monroe “Gotta Be You”
Label: Thrive
Label: Thrive
Looks
like a dope collab; seems like all tha more-anticipated tracks are in tha
beginning of this edition, here…? >>> I went right inta this track
& tha intro sounds pretty dope…! Definitely likin’ how Carla soundin’ on
tha vocals, this tyme…! Also, props ta NER-to-tha-NO—not a “NO” but a cool way
ta say their name, due to tha dope-soundin’ music/beats they bring to tha
table, here…! Likin’ how all these songs out now are pretty short. Sometymes, I
miss tha longer vibes, from back in tha day. However, when those moments do come, they’re sometymes worth it, in
their own tymes… With that bein’ said, props fa this one; anotha huge track!! My Rating: 4.8
05.
HVME “Goosebumps”
Label:
b1/Epic
Kinda
a guilty pleasure, as it reminds me as if “The Business” & “Roses” had a
baby. I was originally like, “Shit, this iz on there?! I’m gonna puke &
skip!” However, it seems like I will just consider it a guilty pleasure! Like,
I always thought, “Who in tha hell would remake this??” Also, I see that Trav
heard his remake be made like this & now, a remix iz out! Interestin’ how
tha rappers & tha dance DJs come together, now! Back durin’ my Kevin
Gates-discoverin’ dayz, I was a 19-year-old, havin’ their playlist paper stolen by college peers, exposin’ me…! I
called it “autistic pain!” Now, look where we stand!! That’s why, my leadership
skillz are powerful, not a joke!! With
that bein’ said, after always hearin’ this in tha car wit my mom, it seems like
it’s a guilty pleasure that’s here ta stay, fa 2021? I think so…! Sounds so
much better, thanx to weed; sobriety brings a dry vibe! My Current Rating: 4.0
06.
Imanbek & Goodboys “Goodbye”
Label:
Astralwerks/Capitol
Heard
this on tha Dip station (Dip-to-tha-lo)…; also, Music Choice Dance. There are
songs that sound exactly like tha DJs/artist’s previous contributions to tha
world that I luv & then, there’s these that just sound recycled & ehh…
Hear tha MEDUZA/Imanbek beats too much, these dayz… Also, tha Goodboys style
cool; this one catchy but I know we’ve heard tha vibe plenty of tymes… Nice
ending beat, at least? See, at least that’s a proper addition to a semi-dry beat…
My Current Rating: 3.6
07.
Benny Benassi & Jeremih “LOVELIFE”
Label:
Ultra
Anotha
2020 one comin’ at me, here… Originally started as a not-so-promoted track.
Then, it became a late-adder for me, to fit my year-end countdown count. Now
that it’s here, I appreciate it. Kinda sounds like a regular song & collab,
here; glad they collab’d, tho. I just wish I could “LOVELIFE” better, right
now; don’t we all? Me, specifically, due to I can stand in most situations,
just to make sure I’m good. Great job, Jeremih; we have tha same perspectives!
Now, just hope you continue ta stay anti-19, as you pass your dark dayz! Great
job wit tha upbeat, not-so-Benny-soundin’ music, here…! My Current Rating: 4.7
08.
Dillon Francis with Evie Irie “Be Somebody (Dillon Francis VIP Remix)”
Label:
Casablanca/Republic
Seen
this one around, as well as Dillon’s remix to tha “Be Happy” song that was
released around tha same tyme as this. Didn’t really pay too much attention to
it, as it just incorrectly reminded me of “Be Happy”. However, after gettin’ a
closer listen to this (maybe, due to it’s a VIP-er?), it sounds better? Likin’
tha cool lil’, young-soundin’ female, here; this VIPness blends better, so I’m
glad it’s not a plain track! My Rating: 4.4
09.
Aviella “tell me what you’re thinking”
Label:
Dim Mak
Looks
like anything can go, here, based off of tha lowercase title, lol? >>>
Likin’ how it has a more dance start than tha trap I remember her on,
previously wit MYRNE… Sounds like a cool lil’ chorus & tha drop ain’t bad…
Not too bad of a new track, here; sounds like tha drop’s part gets better on
tha 2nd pattern of it. Glad there’s more excitement, here; that’s
what tha MEDUZ’ & Iman need! Wonder how this one’ll do,
out in tha real world? Should be interestin’ but if no exposure, it can have
its better dayz with me. My Rating: 4.5
½time: Seems like a lot betta
than I thought it was gonna be, as we’re currently at a 4.3—that rhymed! A few known tracks
already got done playin’ but we shall see how tha rest go…
10.
MEDUZA feat. Dermot Kennedy “Paradise”
Label:
Island/Republic
Kickin’
off tha 2nd ½ with a dry one that’s been out… Even tho tha title
kinda feels like tha distance “between me and [Louisiana],”
with this song, it seems like “Paradise” iz so far away. Then again, with this song,
it seems like it’s comin’? Seems like tha only thang that jumps at me to stay
iz tha ending chorus’ extra beats. Other than that, just a dry lil’ quick
appearance… My Current Rating: 2.5
11.
Sia “Hey Boy (Wideboys Edit)”
Label: Monkey Puzzle/Atlantic
Label: Monkey Puzzle/Atlantic
Speakin’
of how great it was ta hear Riddler on this edition, now, we get Wideboys, fa
tha 2nd ½!! I’ono how it would sound wit Sia, since tha Wideboys
seem to be rarer, now. Back in tha late ‘00s/early ‘10s, a hit-mixed remix
would just be a common thing… >>> Didn’t expect tha extended/club-type
beginning, here, but it sounds pretty cool. Now, what will Sia come with…
I’ono, her dance contributions (e.g., Guetta) sound better than her
pop/hit-mixed vibes… Just sounds like one of those bonus tracks that would be
okay/randomly be played when/if it gets out in tha world. Tha chorus aight; tha
drop/vocalizin’ sounds more on tha annoying, repetitive side, tho… Nice job fa
tha Wideboys, here; now, if only a dance artist would get tha Wideboys
tradition of tha 2020’s… Also, nice lil’ extended ending part… My Rating: 3.4
12.
GATTÜSO x Asketa x Natan Chaim feat. Nadia Gattas “Bring That Back”
Label:
Ultra
Seen
this one on tha POOL player as an exclusive & it seemed like it was cool,
mainly ‘cause of tha GATTÜS’ x Nadia
team-up. Seemed like an okay song, especially with all tha “na-na-na-na.” I’ono
how big it’ll be in tha world but I’m likin’ it, some type of way. Also, tha
verses have a nice lil’ vibe to ‘em; they sound like they sample
Earth-to-tha-Wind-to-tha-Fire… Then, most of tha chorus/drop parts seem just
okay. I’m likin’ tha title part, after tha 1st three choruses &
how tha music gets more excitin’…! My
Current Rating: 4.3
13.
Tritonal, Dylan Matthew & Au5 “Happy Where We Are (Ilan Bluestone Remix)”
Label:
Enhanced
Now,
on to this “Dylan” (how my step-brother’s spelled) vs. tha previous “Dillon.” I
don’t even remember what I rated tha original, on tha previous PO. It’s just, it has barely been gettin’ any spins wit
me… Now, I see a faster remix & I’m feelin’ like I’m gonna like this in a
whole ‘notha way…?! >>> Sounds like it gives off a good vibe; reminds
me of a Gabriel & Dresden-type start, with tha quiet, fast beats…
Definitely lovin’ when tha extra sounds kick in & I luv that tha intro’s 44
seconds!! Definitely a nice lil’ throwback to tha “longer” tracks I mentioned,
earlier in tha review… Likin’ how tha beats sound quiet & good with these
male vocals, this tyme. I luv how it makes it feel like a completely-different
track…! Definitely blows tha Traptonal
vibe out tha window, lol…! Yeah, definitely luvin’ tha vocal trance-type
climax!! Also, tha hot drop!! Definitely a huge
plus, comin’ from an okay original version!! Oh shit, it seemed like it went by
quicker than I thought? Only one special climax to enjoy but a 2nd
chorus, courtesy of those kick-ass, vocal trance vibes!! Also, nice ending,
between tha ending-styled beat & chorus! My Rating: 4.9
14.
Ellipso, Lucky Luke & Candace Sosa “Raw”
Label: Robbins
Label: Robbins
From
fastest on this edition to a more slower vibe, courtesy of Robbins; how will
tha transition go…? Not 100% sure how I’m anticipatin’ this, between tha
Robbins, content warning & slow pace, but let’s see… >>> A cool
start; not too bad with tha slower beat sound… Glad it sounds like a full-on dance
vibe, here, as far as tha slower vibe…! Definitely sounds like a “Raw”
chorus/lyrics; also, nice female on tha track, here! Cool lil’ drop; seemed so
short, like it blinked & gone away… I’ono, I would hope this gets out
there; I’ono but I have a feelin’ this gon be a lil’ underrated… Cool track,
all tha way round; good catch, Robb…ins! My
Rating: 4.5
15.
Dash Berlin
feat. Jordan Grace “No Regrets (Myon Return To 85 Mix)”
Label:
TurnItUp
Anotha
one from tha previous review that I thought was okay for a slow pace… Now, a
remix/re-entry wit a slow pace, again? Hmm…; at least it’s Myon on tha mix, tho
I dunno how he iz when he’s sl…o…w…ed… d…own… >>> An interestin’ lil’
beginning we have, there; sounds like we’re goin’ somewhere, like, literally?
Also, tha beats seem pretty nice & euphoric, for a slow start…? A cool drop
part, after tha chorus; kinda sounds like a blend of disco & ‘80s—despite
tha “85” in tha “Mix” name, lol. Vocals sound kinda cool, this tyme round; not
as special as tha Tritonal remix but this still cool. Nice, long & more on
a chill-type vibe; sounds like tha kinda vibe I was trapped in (statistically
still am), durin’ my non-YouTube tyme. However, this has hints of excitement
breakin’ outta it… Lots of coolness for a slow vibe, overall; glad we’re more
about tha beats, here…! My Rating: 4.4
16.
ILLENIUM, Dabin & Lights “Hearts On Fire”
Label:
12Tone
Got
a taste of it, courtesy of its BPM playz. Now, here it iz… >>> Happy
that Lights on tha vocals, tho I wasn’t too up on its slow vibes, like I was
with “Nightlight”. Tha vocals & chorus sound cool; I’ll give those tha
props they deserve. I’ono, unless tha beat has a ton of anticipation &
excitement comin’ outta tha sounds, I feel like I can’t feel these trap ones
too-too much, these dayz… Tha drop sounds like it’s a mix between a nice
celebration & nothin’ too exciting, lol… Voice-wise, Lights sounds like a
Grimes for me; they channel each other’s voice, sometymes. My Rating: 3.0
17.
Steve Aoki & Aloe Blacc “My Way”
Label: Ultra
Label: Ultra
Sounds
like anotha song fa a pop-soundin’ celebration, in its beats. Courtesy of MCD,
it’s now here & for Aoki to be this slow, I usually don’t fuck wit it.
However, it sounds like a good lil’ new collab. Tha song had some boosted luck,
a few late nights/early mornings ago, when I found $2.25 at tha casino; instant
luck fa this one? We’ll see how it does, as I’m feelin’ tha lyrics/perspective
of havin’ it like tha 1st person of Burger King: “My Way”! I’ono how
much I’ll get ta enjoy this one but at least it’s settin’ a good vibe fa what’s
ta come, later in tha future…? My
Current Rating: 3.8
18.
Ben Hazlewood “Lay Me Down (NERVO Remix)”
Label: Ben Hazlewood
Label: Ben Hazlewood
Endin’
it with a self-released track, with a slower NERVO? Which way will this one
go…? Anticipation-wise, it seems like it’s high. Sound quality-wise, hmm…?
>>> Sounds more like a pop song, remixed (a lil’ country-dosed in tha
vocals, it sounds like?)…; okay chorus & slow drop vibe, here… Not really
crazy about this whole vibe, overall; maybe, its self-releasedness can enjoy
pop-remixed success, rather than dance/EDM success? My Rating: 2.3
Overall: Wow, not as bad as I made
it seem ta be…! I guess that’s how you can tell tha energy/vibe from
bad-momented obtaining to golden-momented (expected) future! There was a good
mix of various dance-music styles, for this Feb; seems like 2021’s headin’ in
tha right direction—my world, that iz! “Gonna do it my way,” with “those
goosebumps, every tyme,” lol… I do feel like after this resurrection of my
channel, I gon slowly evolve into somethin’ bigger…! I can picture it & I’m
feelin’ tha vibes comin’ soon…!
