Funny
that I was about to throw 20 mg of edibles back & check out tha POOL adds
for this month. However, I went to go clear my Firefox history to go back on to
Promo Only’s website & when I
did, I seen that Dance Radio March 2021 arrived! Now, I’m gonna just get tha
review over with, especially since today’s tha final day of tha 1st
month of 2K21! Excited ta get one so fast, it seems like? Let’s hope it wasn’t
a rush deal; I’m anticipatin’ it ta be better than last month’s? We’ll see,
especially since I’m goin’ in blind (not lookin’ at tha tracklist till now)… Start Time: 7:40 PM | End Time: 10:29 PM
Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type
(frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words
instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each
rating iz my own opinion! I only
please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it,
I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics.
To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at
least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I
pretty much really love it, as it’s
considered mindblowin’ when I hear
it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “
>>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I
type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
Sometimes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha
future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

Riton x Nightcrawlers feat. Mufasa & Hypeman “Friday (Dopamine Re-Edit)”
Label: RCA
Label: RCA
Oh
boy…; shoulda seen this one comin’… Been seein’ this pop up, courtesy of
Diplo’s Revolution & it sounds like a catchy lil’ take on “Push The Feeling
On”. >>> Lol @ tha transition from tha intro to when tha chorus kicks
in; sounds like a video clip’s audio, in tha beginning… Of course, when tha
chorus hits, it’s pretty strong on here…! Wasn’t sure how big this was gonna
be, since there’s been plenty of “Push The Feeling On” remakes. I do think that
this one fits nicely with this current generation of dance we’re in! Definitely
diggin’ this female, her lyrics & her positivity toward an excellent vibe!!
Startin’ ta really appreciate this one more, now; too bad my current Fridayz lead into long, boring weekends.
That’s ‘cause I’ve been outta my full-time fa five months, now; every “Friday”
seems tha same…! My Rating: 4.5

3LAU feat. Frawley “Everything”
Label: Blume
Label: Blume
Anotha
brand-new one that’s gettin’ out there, now on Sirius XM BPM… Glad it’s
instantly on here, as tha 2nd song on this edition! However, my
sources say it’s 3LAU & Funkin’ Matt?
Wonder if there’s a secret difference or just a credit issue…? >>>
Definitely feelin’ tha strong beginning, with its chorus & anticipation of
tha beat…! Nice chorus & tha drop sounds like some good, laidback-styled
dance music of today; I can dig it… Diggin’ this chick’s strong female-vocal
vibe, throughout this track, as well; go, future 2K21! My Rating: 4.3
03.
Lucas & Steve “I Want It All”
Label: Spinnin’
Lol, how funny: Reminds me of my older dayz. While tha previous track on here was ending, I looked at this track’s BPM & label, tryin’ to guess what it could be… Lookin’ through my playlist, courtesy of BPM, my brain clicked wit dis & boom! I was right! Glad they keep tha energy goin’, no matter what tha tempo iz…! A lil’ slow with tha male-vocal, L&S style but I’m glad it picks up, as tha energy progresses. Whether they get Haris or whichever male singer they stick with, their secretness at least iz worth somethin’, in tha end. Definitely a nice 2nd climax/pre-drop, too; makes me wanna appreciate this track more, if tha moments can channel this song’s energy…! My Current Rating: 4.2

Zookëper feat. Marlhy “Think Of You”
Label:
Enhanced
It’s
always great ta see anotha one from Mr. Këper! Glad he can team up with a bunch
of great, new vocalists & create such great dance music, for our
generation…! Excited ta know that he’s already got a new one, followin’ “Body
Talk”…! >>> Sounds like an okay start but it’s gettin’ better, as it’s
progressin’ toward tha chorus… Sounds like tha chorus iz pretty nice, with its
quality of vocals & beats; good shizzit…! Also, cool lil’ synths &
sounds goin’ on, throughout tha drop; nice collab with this newbie…! Tha lil’
bridge part with tha distorted version of tha title part’s a lil’ ehh…; think I
like it better organically, actually…, lol. My Rating: 4.4
05.
Vicetone feat. Solly “No Rest”
Label: Monstercat
Label: Monstercat
So
glad this one came outta nowhere, too; definitely feelin’ this one tha most, I
believe? Definitely somethin’ strong & I’m glad it’s all over Music Choice
Dance & BPM…!! You know a year
gon be at/has approached its peak when MCD, BPM, myself & tha PO latest edition all
debut this, in tha same week!! Haven’t seen that happen in a long while, actually! Also, S/O to this
Solly singin’, as she secretly was on tha Jason Derulo “Take You Dancing”
track! Now, she sounds pretty dope on here, with tha Vicetone boyz! Feelin’ her
lyrics, to tha max; it’s a nice blend of tha normal pop life, mixed with tha
dance world…! Like, she wants them dollaz
b4 “gettin’ laid,” since, later on tha 2nd verse, “Enemies” come on
by…; almost my theory, too? I’m all about generatin’ business & success, 1st;
my career #1! With that bein’ said, I can feel tha chorus, especially since I’m
only a few dayz away from workin’ on some collabz! I really hope tha underdogz
I’m teamin’ up with put their 100 into everything! With that bein’ said, I’m definitely glad tha Vicetone boyz went
all in on this one!! Most definitely, there will be “No Rest” fa me, as I will consecutively,
consistently, continuously be active (say those three “C” words 5x fast!
“Consecutively, consistently, continuously”; “consecutively, consistently,
continuously”; “consecutively, consistently, continuously”; “consecutively,
consistently, continuously”; “consecutively, consistently, continuously”—just
did it, tho it took a few tries)! My
Current Rating: 5.0

Megan Thee Stallion “Body (Joel Corry Remix – Radio Edit)”
Label: 1501 Certified/300
Label: 1501 Certified/300
Oh
boy, lol; can’t imagine tha combination of faster beats, a Corry & Meg
Thee! Also, lookin’ at tha POOL player: A # battle, between 1401 & 1501…! Lucky for tha edition, tha 1501 iz
correct! Now, with that bein’ said, let’s see how this “Body” turns out…!
>>> Feelin’ tha intro, as it reminds me of tha more underrated remixed
songs…! Silly chorus; I actually think it’s hilarious when it’s faster, tho
this faster mix makes tha vocals slower. Her rhymes cool wit Corry; I’ll give
‘em tha plus they deserve. I like that Cory has good beats goin’ on, here;
definitely feel tha strength! Yeah, surprisingly, one of tha special-soundin’
remixes, here, thanx ta some good remixin’ from Corr-to-tha-y! Also, nice lil’
2nd verse ta go with this remix! Luv how all this crammed into less
than three minutes! Surprisingly, it squeezed itself out as a banger! Go,
“Megan Thee Corry”, lol! My Rating: 4.6
07.
Famba “Still Call You Mine”
Label:
Sony Canada
Likin’
& hopin’ that Mr. Famb-to-tha-a keeps tha quality music goin’, in this
current dance world we live in…! >>> Got so adjusted to tha female
singers he brought to tha table & now, a male… Didn’t really feel it at tha
1st second it instantly started. However, it got slightly better…
Chorus & drop ain’t too bad; this may be tha 1st decent song on
this release. It may not sound like it’ll crack a 4.0 but it’s not that far
behind… Tha Famba/male/okay drop combo a lil’ betta than just “decent.” My Rating: 3.8
08.
TELYKast “Somebody New”
Label:
TELYKast
Tha
1st completely-new appearance on this edition, via tha artist, song
& its self-release…! I see it’s short & its 124 BPM makes me think it’s
just anotha slap-house track floatin’ in this world’s current wind…? I wonder
if it can prove me wrong…? I still feel anticipated, tho I don’t know what gon
happen when I press “P”…”L”…”A”…”Y”…? >>> Sounds like I can hear tha
slap-house beginning, with tha dark/slow beat. However, I’m feelin’ these
vocals; definitely somethin’ nice ta instantly appear…! Kinda reminds me of
“Lonely Heart”, based off this sound? Yeah, like, literally, in a way… Lol, I
reviewed “Lonely Heart” on that fall trail & thought it was gonna only
exclusively be with just that live review & not really get out there.
However, I was wrong & now, it created this ‘egg’. I’m diggin’ her vibe,
tho; hope this one gets tha exposure it deserves, as well, despite bein’ a
self-release…! My Rating: 4.3 (“Lonely Heart” rating; eerie…)
09.
Silk City & Ellie Goulding feat. Diplo & Mark Ronson “New Love”
Label:
Columbia
Got
ta peep this one out, as it just got out there, as well; anotha big one in tha
same week? Though Diplo has buku music projects, rangin’ from himself, to Major
Lazer, to Jack Ü, to LSD, to Silk
City & continued,
somewhere, lol, I’m glad this act of his ain’t a one-hit wonder, hopefully. I
mean, it deserves tha success tha later-cursed year of ’18 brought
(“Electricity”). Yeah, tha chorus may be a lil’ repetitive for always hearin’ tha Goulding, throughout
tha 2010’s. However, at least there’s good vibes from this one & what all
three of ‘em bring to tha table. She even says, “Electricity,” as tha song
approaches tha near-end… Hope tha world can appreciate/rebuild back tha world,
when they think of this song’s positive vibe. This way, “Electricity” won’t
single-out, all tha tyme…! My Current
Rating: 3.8
10.
Tungevaag, Sick Individuals & Marf “Miss You”
Label:
Spinnin’
When
I think of a collab like tha Tungevaag & tha Sick Individuals, I think of
somethin’ sick! Will it be? Will it adapt to tha current world of dance…?
>>> I had a feelin’ it wasn’t gonna be a stadium-like sound; sounds like
a decent, male-vocal start… Hearin’ tha chorus & it sounds a lil’ better;
sounds like it’s meant ta be a sad song, based off its title? At least there’s
a strong drop ta make up fa some of tha decent outcomes…! Tha rest of this
ain’t bad; an odd but strong mix between sadness & happiness…! I like tha
last 15 seconds, where it almost sounded like tha sounds were disappearin’.
Then, a strong return to tha drop! Every second counts…! My Rating: 4.1
½time: Seems like we’re on a
nice track, here; definitely a lot of good expectations, as tha world of 2021
rolls on…! A 4.3-rated
½time rating, here; I digz it…! Glad a lot of strength & energy iz bein’
applied to how tha tracks are soundin’, here, vs. some of tha plain/dry vibes
of tha dance world, nowadayz… With that bein’ said, I hope we continue strong;
I’ono if I’m jinxin’ anything…? *Eats Part 2 of dinner at 9:02 PM…* *Returns at
9:25 PM…*

Banners “Someone To You (Philip George Remix)”
Label: Island/Republic
Label: Island/Republic
Looks
like we’re kickin’ off tha 2nd ½ with a hit-mixed track? Let’s see
what I’m in for… >>> Reminds me of one of those pop singers like James
Arthur…; not too-too bad for a slightly-boring start… Sounds like a lil’ bit of
a catchy chorus; an okay drop but at least a good dance vibe. I’ono if I can
appreciate tha repetitiveness of tha chorus/title part but it’s cool, at times.
Basically, it really depends on where tha level of special vibes/growing energy
tha beat/music has…! My Rating: 3.7
12.
Shane Codd “Get Out My Head”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
I
feel like this one’s more on tha overrated &/or soon-to-be over-played
side? Always didn’t see a reason why to steal tha Landis throne, of tha same
mysterious female vocal & “Get Out My Head”ness. This one has better
music/beats than Land’s but after doin’ this review & givin’ this more of a
chance, I feel like this one may have a better chance with me? Just, another
one of those tracks with tha slightly-annoying repetitiveness… My Current Rating: 4.0
13.
Anabel Englund x MK “Underwater (Dombresky Remix)”
Label:
Ultra
Instantly-appearin’
as a surprise, here…? Kinda “seem so…” zoned out, when it came to tryna think
of what was gonna be comin’ up…! >>> Also, thought this was gonna be
an original version but it sounds like a remix? Like, tha newly-added add on
Diplo’s Revolution (this version)? Could be their version; if so, kinda seemed
way better as an original version. This remix kinda sounds a lil’ soulful but
still nice with tha energy. Of course, as far as Anabel on tha song, I always
appreciate & embrace her “hot” lyrics about tha “Underwater” life! She’s gots ta be tha hottest female of tha 2020’s! I feel it! I can’t wait ta count down
my top females of tha 2010’s; lots of great tymes, especially a bunch—mainly
durin’ this age of social media—that I thought would last a lot longer…
Anabel’s here ta stay but this mix kinda like a bonus ta have… My Rating: 3.9
EDIT: Dombresky on tha remix.
14.
Galantis & JVKE “Dandelion”
Label:
Big Beat/EMG
How
will this Galantis vibe define itself, fa tha year of 2021…? >>> Kinda
sounds like a scary vocal start, with tha beginning; don’t know what I’m
expectin’… Well, sounds a lil’ better with tha vocals; a lil’ on tha trippy
side, based off tha “mesmerized” feelings? I guess, that ain’t a bad way to express
a good vibe? A lil’ cheesy fa me, overall; weird that my favorite part iz,
“Pick up a dandelion,” with how that sounds, between tha music & vocals,
lol. I would think that’s tha cheesiest part but it’s also tha best? Can
someone say, “Extra cheese, anyone?,” lol? Either way, it should be a lil’
entertainin’ &/or surprisingly big? My
Rating: 3.1
15.
ILLENIUM, Dabin & Lights “Hearts On Fire (Lucas & Steve Remix Edit)”
Label: 12Tone
Label: 12Tone
This
more like it, as far as this song…! A lil’ bit of tha slow original version, in
tha beginning & then, L&S transform tha trappy original into an
energetic banger! Definitely makes me appreciate tha song much more; all you
need iz tha en…er…gy—need it more than tha trap…ergy, lol… Gotta appreciate
L&S with tha faster-soundin’ drop, this tyme; great blend with tha vocal
chops! Hope who I approach this comin’ week will appreciate my thoughts of
usin’ vocal chops & quick drops in tracks; they betta bow down ta me!! My
Current Rating: 4.5
16.
Eric Redd “Want You”
Label:
Carrillo
Props
fa him makin’ anotha PO appearance, after I
remember reviewin’ him on tha August 2010 edition! Great tymes & now, a
slower vibe but still with Carrillo; that’s what’s good…! How will I
appreciate/react to this…? >>> I still think he’s still got a good flow,
with catchiness. I liked how he came through on his “Breathe” track, 11 years
ago & now, this. This one’s a lil’ more of a mix of soulful house & a
trippy-soundin’ chorus? Cool, in some wayz, while decent in others. That trippy
vibe of tha 1st chorus didn’t trigger, after tha 2nd
verse; thumbs down on tha catchiness, a lil’… Kinda startin’ ta sound a lil’
more decent. Also, feels weird ta know that it’s over a minute longer than a
bunch of tracks, these dayz (3:43); a lil’ draggy, if you ask me, as sometymes,
tha vocal flow/vibe can be repetitive… My
Rating: 3.0
17.
ATB x Topic x A7S “Your Love (9PM)”
Label:
Astralwerks/Capitol
I’ont
think this collab should’ve happened… As much as I don’t really feel tha Topic
x A7S collabz, I don’t think they should’ve qualified to sample/collab with
A-to-tha-T-to-tha-B… I’ono, I’m not really too-too crazy about tha vocals/Topic
vibe but really, tha ATB sample/unexpected collab with him makes for tha best
part. I am startin’ to feel like I’m diggin’ this more, mainly with tha chorus
part; definitely gotta “feel” some type of (good) way…! Not too sure how well
this’ll be able to break in with me… I think we need more of good moments &
we may be headin’ in that way (hopefully)… My
Rating: 4.2
18.
Cloonee “Sun Goes Down (OG Mix – Radio Edit)”
Label:
Big Beat/EMG
Likin’
tha OG, as a part of tha mix name; lookin’ forward, I guess…? >>> Oh
boy, another tease! Now, we’ve got Cassius & Steve Edwards “The Sound Of
Violence”! With me pointin’ out these tracks/their original versions, it feels
like I’m reviewin’ rappers’ releases, with jacked beats! This sounds like as if
tha Narcotic Thrust version sadly got lost in a tribal house…, somewhere lost & dry. A lil’ too dry &
unnecessary for a remake/cover… My
Rating: 1.1
19.
Captain Cuts feat. AJ Mitchell “Stuck In My Head (NITE MIX)”
Label: Epic
Label: Epic
All
caps, with this *whispers* NITE VERSION…,
lol. Got tired of tha “Imagine” collab, earlier on tha 10/20 edition. Now,
this featured vocalist on here? Not too sure how I’ll feel/tolerate tha
youngin… >>> Sounds like an okay beginning… Hearin’ tha pre-chorus
part & it sounds like it can be like a boy-band track or somethin’? An
okay/semi-good chorus; drop sounds good but not in all of my taste… Sounds like
it’s more powerful, despite this song/CAPS MIX soundin’ like a cheesy pop song…
I’ono, not tha greatest, tho its catchiest part was just tha title part, durin’
tha beginning of each chorus. My Rating:
3.3
20.
Lucas Estrada & AJ Salvatore feat. Calica “Kiss Me”
Label:
Robbins
Looks
like it can be an exciting, slower track, signed by Robbins…! Always diggin’ a
lineup fulla new peeps but that usually ends up in a gift-and-a-curse fate.
Like, what I mean iz that there’s so
many one-hit wonders that were signed with Robbins. Tha gift iz that, most of
tha tyme, tha tracks are incredible! However, it’s their only hit and/or tha
only song I know by them. Will that happen, here…? I’ono; I hate ta think so
but I’mma say, “Yes”! >>> Sounds like a slow start, tho a nice female
on tha vocals… Oh, not an actual dance remake (e.g., “The Sound Of Violence”
vs. “Sun Goes Down”) but remakin’ tha Sixpence None The Richer track, from b4
tha millenium… Sounds like a good lil’ track but I’ono, will this get exposure
or just be ignored? Are dance outlets wantin’ ta re-hear tha Sixpence tymes?
Kinda sounds like some younger/nice-soundin’ singin’, tho she sounds decent
with her “la-la-la” parts… Sounds good with tha slower Robbins-based music but
I’m not too sure how well it’ll play a part, fa 2021. It sounds like one of
those songs that would need tha moments in order to have quality spins… My Rating: 3.8
21.
Luca Schreiner feat. Beth Duck “A Thousand Miles”
Label: Ultra
Label: Ultra
Anotha
Luca Schreiner appearance; glad he’s on his grind… How will we end this
edition, courtesy of these two…? >>> Odd instant start…; oh no,
another remake/cover tease, here, with Vanessa Carlton’s song. Ain’t like
workin’ with it, back just a decade ago! I don’t wanna feel old or anything
like that; that’s what I feel like when I see songs that I was around for their
original bein’ remade… Despite my feelings, nice music & vocals, except tha
“A Thousand Miles” remake. This woulda been okay as a completely-new song but
just always associated those times of “A Thousand Miles” with ’02; this kid, Ryan
Kelly, that I tried to be friends with that was socially sour; moving away from
NY to PA, without access to most dance music (except playlists); not my
favorite kinda tymes. I mean, they do beat some of my recent shit years but
what’s dark was dark, at some point… Too much of a guilty pleasure for me to
really appreciate, here… My Rating: 2.0
Overall: Tha 2nd ½
seemed mostly on tha weaker side, due to a bunch of tha songs tryna get remade
& a few cheesy tracks/vocals. Oddly, when I said on my top-rated song,
“Consistently, consecutively, continuously” (x5), it seemed like tha wrong wave
of energy came my way with tha remade 2nd ½ tracks, “consistently,
consecutively, continuously.” Strange outcome but for tha most part, a lotta
bangerz; great review, overall. I’m glad I got to it nice & early; seemed
like it was worth it, in most cases…!
