Progressin’
thru these tymes, here I go with anotha edition of reviewin’! Promo Only Dance
Radio May 2024! Lookin’ forward ta feelin’ tha energy off this one…! Start Tyme: 8:12 PM | End Tyme: 9:28 PM
Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type
(frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words
instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each
rating iz my own opinion! I only
please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it,
I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics.
To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least
a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty
much really love it, as it’s
considered mindblowin’ when I hear
it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “
>>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I
type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha
future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

ZERB & The Chainsmokers feat. INK “Addicted”
Label: TH3RD BRAIN
Here comes this one… Crazy that we’d be in a world where a TH3RD BRAIN track iz strong enough to kick off a Dance Radio edition! However, this one definitely gets me jealous with its exposure bein’ more than The Chainsmokers’ previous collab (“Jungle)”, which previously topped my 2023 year-end countdown… *Rehears* Yeah, these vocals are ehh & seem worse, once tha drop comes through. Not feelin’ ‘em & yeah, still surprised with this slower sound takin’ over. Reminds me too much of a SXM Chill-type sound… Ick @ tha 2nd verse, soundin’ all like a total R&B track, only in tha dance world than tha hip-hop world… My Current Rating: 2.2
02.
Lucas & Steve x Lawrent feat. Jordan Shaw “End Of Time”
Label: Spinnin’
Hopefully, we can get more on track with tha right kinda male-vocal track, this tyme…? >>> Sounds like a decent start; let’s see how anthemic it turns… Sounds like an okay, anthemic-type of chorus & then, nice job on tha drop! Definitely feel tha progression, includin’ with JS’s contributions…! Tha rest of this sounds nice to hear, as it progresses… Not much else to say; we’ll see how it does. My Rating: 4.4
03.
Martin Garrix, Third Party, Oaks & Declan J Donovan “Carry You”
Label: STMPD
Speakin’ of anthems, here comes a brand-new one that’s takin’ over tha SXM BPM airwaves, slowly but surely…! Definitely feelin’ how all their energy combines together! Such an ID to spit out! Like, this why your brain gotta stay supa-smart, all tha tyme! Love that this May edition celebrates 18 years of reviewin’ tha Dance Radio editions! Brainwork! With that bein’ said, S/O to how Oaks comes through with tha rest of ‘em, here. Oaks = Winona Oak, for more brainwork. *Wink, wink…* Awesome energy & I hope it continues to build, durin’ this awesome-soundin’ year…! My Current Rating: 4.8
04.
OddKidOut, Angrybaby & Nina Sung “Come Back Home”
Label: Insomniac
Looks like a nice collab, between these three… Gonna hear this in full, for tha 1st tyme… >>> Sounds like a good track for a female to bring energy on, in a chill-but-energetic way! Definitely likin’ how tha chorus sounds choppy & jumpy, as well as its upbeat, chill-type of euphoria! Definitely interestin’, to say…! As tha rest of this progresses, I still am in-tune with tha tune, itself. My Rating: 4.3
05.
TWINSICK & BADVIBES “California Baby”
Label: SELENE/Blue Suede
Outta nowhere, this one’s spreadin’ pretty intensely, it seems? Feels like I heard it so long ago, fa some reason & now, it’s in our faces! Still nice to hear their “California” dreams! I have Hawaii ones in tha works, comin’ in two months! Can’t wait fa my next birthday…! We’ll see how this random track continues to build its exposure, to tha world… My Current Rating: 3.9
06.
Tiësto x MOGUAI “Explode”
Label: Musical Freedom
Will these anthems continue to “Explode” in our ears? >>> Not sure about how I feel about this instant-vocal start, with these sampled vocals… Sounds much betta with tha build-up & drop, in a way to recover from tha beginning! Too bad there’s a 2nd verse with tha vocals, to continue on… At least tha build-up/drop saved this from bein’ a total disaster! My Rating: 3.8
07.
David Guetta & OneRepublic “I Don’t Wanna Wait”
Label: Warner
Got a sample of this, not too long ago… Couldn’t really judge till I got to focus on it, just now… >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ collab! Definitely nice how tha Guetta sound iz really on top of tha world, both with tha excitement & exposure! I think this iz a nice lil’ collab. Who woulda thought it’d be 17 years with these OneRepublic guys… Definitely feelin’ tha energy & how they turn “Dragostea Din Tei” in to this, 20 years after I heard tha 1st one, on Music Choice Dance! My Rating: 4.3
08.
Sonny Fodera feat. blythe “Mind Still”
Label: Solotoko
This was on my add list & then, once I saw it made an appearance on here, I just waited till now to give it its flowers. Sounds like a nice lil’ faster vibe from SF, includin’ this blythe appearance, as a collab…! Tha rest of this sounds nice, as it continues to deliver, ya feel me…?! My Current Rating: 4.4
09.
Seven Lions & ILLENIUM feat. ÁSDÍS “Not Even Love”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
Definitely feelin’ tha growth of this one & I hope other people do, as well! Gotta luv tha POOL-discovered ÁSDÍS from Iceland, two years ago! Now, on to more exposure with tha Lions & ILLEN’! Luv how she kicks off tha energy & you can really feel it in her exciting vocals! Definitely luv how she continuously delivers, includin’ infectin’ err-body with tha infectious chorus! Gotta luv tha energy of tha drop, too, as they turn it up a notch from tha norm! Plus, tha 2nd drop, in a full-fashioned SL-type of ½-paced way…! My Current Rating: 4.5
10.
Gorgon City feat. Caroline Byrne “All That You Need”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Saw this one around, not too long ago… We’ll see how these boyz continue to bring tha vibes out tha house… >>> Sounds like an R&B start that turned in to a house build-up… Tha energy kinda dropped in a quiet space, once tha drop hit from tha build-up’s end… Then, tha transition throughout tha drop brings tha energy back… I would say, not too bad/anotha nice way to progress, like their previous track (“You Know It”). My Rating: 3.8
½tyme: Sounds like a nice
edition, with tha energy provided… Got a 4.0
for tha average rating, continuing on…!
11. Ahadadream x Priya Ragu x Skrillex “Taka”
Label: FFRR/Major
Saw some of these “Taka”-titled tracks out in tha world & here comes this one… Seems like a trippy way to say that 1st person’s name. *Rehears* Seems like some good energy, from outside tha States… Likin’ how tha drop sounds, in such a “Taka”tastic way… Randomness at its finest, basically? Sounds like a good lil’ house track, in a random way. My Current Rating: 3.9
12. Galantis, David Guetta & 5 Seconds Of Summer
“Lighter”
Label: Big Beat
More Guetta & lookin’ at tha collab, it reminds me too much of a male version of “Heartbreak Anthem”. Sounds great with tha energy; definitely inescapable, here… Seems like a guilty pleasure to get used to tha vocals, here, but they seem to not be stopped. It’s almost like you have to get used to their strength…? We’ll see how I carry this one on… My Current Rating: 3.7
13. Flight School & XIRA “Undertow”
Label: Sadboy
Likin’ tha appearance this iz makin’, includin’ that XIRA’s followin’ me on Instagram! That’s those 2024 tymes! Definitely likin’ her appearance on tha latest ARTY track that’s out now, “Take So Long (Find You)”. This more like a surprise appearance, compared to tha average track that would appear on here. S/O to FS’s 2nd Dance Radio appearance, followin’ their 7/17 appearance with “One Day”, collaboratin’ with XIRA for 5/24! As far as tha song, itself, I’m likin’ tha regular-soundin’ beats, throughout tha verses. I like how XIRA sounds, with her unique voice… Tha chorus sounds nice to hear & tha drop’s on that euphoric, travelin’-type of vibe…! Not too sure how well this’ll do in tha world, but I got it generatin’ success, on my end! My Current Rating: 4.6
14. HUGEL “Shimmy Shake”
Label: Major/Warner
Maybe, some random houseness for me, here? >>> Yeah, kinda sounds awkward with these vocals that are sampled… So in luv wit tha “booty,” here… I’ono, but randomness, I guess? I like that lil’ organ-type of sound past tha :30 mark; I’ll give it that type of props… Tha “I hurt you” sample or whateva makes me think it finna be “I’ll House You” comin’ outta nowhere or somethin’… I’ono with this random craziness; I’ll pass on this one… My Rating: 2.0
15. KAIN “Do It For Myself”
Label: Hysteria/Spinnin’
Jumpin’ right in to it! Gotta leave for my full-tyme in an hour! >>> Likin’ tha vocal start from this female, here! Saw tha Hysteria & instantly thought of tha Bingo Players, but it’s a newbie… Feelin’ tha chorus; hope this gets some nice lil’ exposure to bring out a better world… As tha 2nd verse comes through, I’m continuin’ to feel what’s happening, as far as how tha track’s progressin’. Sounds good with that pre-chorus! Awesome energy! Tha next BPM Breaker, lol? Confidence… My Rating: 4.4
16. DJ Bliss x BIA “808”
Label: Major/Warner
Looks like an awkward collab for Major & Warner, here… >>> Sounds okay, tho I feel like I’m on-guard with BIA… Hope she don’t go braggin’ ‘bout $$$... Okay, tha chorus sounds okay, more for tha rap world than dance, tho. It’s whateva with her 1st verse; nothin’ special, on my end. Tha 2nd verse ehh, tho it’s whateva, once again. My Rating: 2.1
17. Breathe Carolina & Nikki Vianna “Dumb”
Label: Spinnin’
Hoping for an awesome collab, here, followin’ BC’s remix of Nikki’s track from five years ago (“When You Leave”)…! >>> Sounds nice, for tha start; definitely feelin’ tha way tha 1st verse brings tha excitement out…! Tha chorus sounds good; nothin’ too much to say about it. Tha drop ain’t bad; I hope BC get on tha fast train, tho. Would luv to hear them in tha 133+ BPM range, soon! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, just like tha 1st verse; can’t deny these two comin’ together…! My Rating: 4.2
18. Dua Lipa “Training Season (Chloe Caillet Remix)”
Label: Warner
An extended Lipa, here? Luv how she pulls off tha full-on 4:49, durin’ these 2024 tymes! >>> Tha beginning sounds good & slowly progresses in to some greatness, I’d say? Seems like it’s a special-type of vibe with Ms. Lipa & Chloe Caillet on tha remix…! Once tha 1st verse hits, it seems more like a faster-pop vibe than tha dance vibe it brought out? Lots of interesting transitions, at tymes, which makes this for an awesome opportunity for its longer length! As far as how this continues to progress, I definitely am feelin’ how it keeps tha excitement continuing. I give tha two of ‘em my props… My Rating: 4.5
19. Deepend, SVNSETS & Aloma Steele “Lovin’ You”
Label: Robbins
Excited to see a new Robbins track… Not too sure how laidback it’ll be with Deepend, tho. >>> Oh, we’ve been down this route, once b4… Takin’ on tha old-skool track of tha same title & makin’ it more of a downtempo-type of house track. Not too bad, considering AS & tha 2nd tyme hearin’ her on a Dance Radio since tha 7/16 edition (“Reunite”) & ironically, to go with this past Monday, tha label was… Eclypse! Like tha eclipse of April 8, 2024! My Rating: 3.1
20. Cloonee “Sippin’ Yak (We Like)”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Oh shit, this one… I like tha perspective of samplin’ tha ‘90s rap tracks, tho it sounds too cheesy for me to appreciate. I’ono if it’s tha Will Smithness? So random & such a clash to tha average dance person’s comfort zone, lol. My Current Rating: 3.5
21. Steve Aoki feat. KIDDO “Drive”
Label: Dim Mak
Endin’ it on a slower note, tho an anticipatin’ one, here… Got to hear a snippet of it on The Chainsmokers’ Electro15 & now, it appears here, for my review. >>> Sounds good with KIDDO on tha 1st verse, with this slower Aoki feel… A lil’ cheesy with tha excitement in her voice on tha chorus, tho still an okay track. A lil’ short, but that’s how tha quick tracks come & go, these dayz… Decent lil’ track, overall. My Rating: 3.6
Overall:
Thought this was a cool lil’ edition… Definitely feelin’ tha continuous energy
everyone’s bringin’ to tha table, these dayz! Let’s keep tha energy up, for
these progressin’ tymes…!
