Review #104: Promo Only: Dance Radio August 2008

Watz good it’s Frankie wit my 104^th review. I’m anticipated, but kinda in a rush ‘cause I wanna finish this before a show I listen to on Crescent City Radio (Louisiana online station) wit my girl Ally B so I wanna do this quick (it’s on at 9:00 PM central so I got 1.5 hours). Here’s my review for Promo Only Dance Radio August 2008. Start Time: 8:47 PM | Video Game Playing: Banjo-Kazooie (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. Madonna “Give It 2 Me (Fedde Le Grand Remix Edit)”

I don’t really have AL ‘cause tha Oakenfold one iz just fine. >>> Finally at about 1:20, it changed a lil’. There really ain’t much to this remix. I feel like I’m listenin’ to one of Music Choice’s mixshows, lol. Prolly tha least rated “1^st song” I’m rating for this CD. My Rating: Oakenfold Remix Edit: 4.0 | This Remix Edit: 2.6

02. David Guetta Feat. Chris Willis “Tomorrow Can Wait (Radio Edit)”

Kinda don’t expect much but a “bite off” from “Love Is Gone”. I know “Delirious” iz prolly 10,000x better but I gotta hear this before everyone gets it! >>> Not so much of a “bite off” at least. Not so bad. Pretty decent music but other than that, I don’t have much to say. My Rating: 3.7

03. Sunfreakz Feat. Mia J “Drive Out (The Attik Radio Edit)”

Thomas Gold & Francesco Diaz Radio Edit on MCD in heavy rotation (which iz great). Original Radio Edit on iPartyRadio (which iz okay; I thought it would be better). Let’s see what this has in store. I hope it’s not Fuck Up Mix No. 2. >>> Oh wait this iz tha one I thought was tha Original Radio Edit but I was wrong. Sunfreakz had it on his MySpace but didn’t label it on his player. Even though tha music iz SLAMMIN’ (like a Sunfreakz original produced track), I still like tha TG & FD mix tha best (prolly ‘cause MCD gettin’ me all used to it). My Rating: 4.4

04. The Pussycat Dolls “When I Grow Up (Dave Audé Audacious Radio Edit)”

When I looked at tha tracklisting online, it said different shit. It only said “Dave Audé Radio”. At least tha actual CD gives tha full info! And this iz at least a lil’ different from DA productions. I like it and I forget all about tha original version. :) I do think tha PCD’s should’ve went a different route and gave this song to someone else, someone that iz “about to grow up”, lol. My Current Rating: 4.0

05. AnnaGrace “You Make Me Feel (Radio Edit)”

When I first saw it on Party 105.3’s playlist last month, I was like “ooh new Robbins song!” Then I was like “it added wit 21 spins already so it must be a remake or somethin’.” I listened to it and I was like “I wonder why they thought this was so special at first?” Then I read facts on it and AnnaGrace iz tha girl from Ian Van Dahl and Peter Luts. They went a new route and created AnnaGrace. And even though it fell off of Party 105.3’s playlist 2 weeks later, it re-entered at No. 1 on there wit like 82 spins. I was real happy for that and I am playin’ it like crazy now!! No. 1 Dance song for me right now (“Heartbroken” still a big one though). And yes, they’re a Party 105.3 Megajam 2008 artist so :tu to that. It’s different from other Peter Luts songs (as he goes different routes which iz good) and (of course), tha Ian Van Dahl girl doin’ her thang! :) My Current Rating: 4.7

06. Cyndi Lauper “Into The Nightlife (Soul Seekerz Radio Edit)”

MCD got tha Jody (they spelled it “Jodi”, smh) Den Broeder Radio Edit. Pretty good so I give this a thumbs up. Let’s see what SS did to it ‘cause I can just imagine how much better it could be… … … >>> She said “shake your body”? I thought she says “shake your money maker”? That line was much better. Oh wait she said it on tha 2^nd verse! Yeah! :) I prolly go wit Jody Den Broeder’s mix (which iz rare I choose his mixes over anyone elses, especially SS). I give this credit tho. She keepin’ tha music hot for an over 50 year old lady! :) My Rating: 4.1

07. Delinquent Feat. KCat “My Destiny (Delio D’Cruz vs. Paul Emanuel Radio Edit)”

I forget if this iz tha All Around The World signed song or tha Next Plateau signed song. I forgot a lot of tha info when I looked at tha PO listing last week, lol. Okay, since everything iz a mystery, I’ll give it some AL… >>> More anticipation for it bein’ a female! :) Yes this iz some good shit so far. Looks like it could be a “back 2 school” anthem. If it gets out there real fast, then it’ll prolly be a “my break iz almost over” anthem. Good music and great vocals. :tu My Rating: 4.2

08. Jennifer Hudson “Spotlight (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)”

Her and tha mix just make me wanna puke before I hear it! Very low AL… >>> It ain’t that bad for a start. It’s better than other MB mixes. I wonder how bad all my sources are gonna beast on it tho. This iz like where “Bleeding Love (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)” left off. My Rating: 3.8

09. Basshunter “All I Ever Wanted (Radio Edit)”

I KNEW tha bangerz were gonna come on after JH!! This iz tha fastest on here so let’s see! High AL!! >>> I thought it was gonna sound a lil’ different, even though I couldn’t predict how it would sound. This iz hot, especially when he “dropped that bass!” Tha 2^nd verse was real good!! Beginning and end sounded a lil’ like what Cascada would do. Good shit! My Rating: 4.6

10. Ava Dayton “All The Way (Calla McLoud Electro Radio Mix)”

I saw tha 133 BPM and tha “Electro Radio Mix” in tha mix name. Could this be tha same mix as Electrik Pulse Feat. Amber Dirks “You’re The One”? Well it should be hot if it iz! Congrats on Ava Dayton for returning 2 years later wit another Amathus song! High AL!!! >>> Not bad so far. I think tha “You’re The One” mix sounded better. I like how tha music dropped dead as soon as tha chorus came on. I *imitates tha song* l i k e _ t h a _ w a y _ t h a _ w o r d s _ a r e _ g o i n ‘ _ i n _ a n d _ o u t ! ! :) Not bad for a song, although there iz prolly a better mix of this in tha future. “Only The Lonely” was better and A LOT BETTER produced. We’ll see how this one will do wit me in tha future. My Rating: 3.6

11. Kim Leoni “Medicine (Radio Edit)”

Glad Robbins signed it finally! Hope everyone does an “Again” on it and beasts it!! >>> Of course great lyrics and even if tha music sounds like “Again”, at least tha producer did a lil’ different wit it. Kim Leoni wit her sexy image/voice. :) This was one of tha songs that I started playin’ a lot as soon as I went to Florida almost 3 months ago. I feel like that’s special ‘cause I have no clue when I would go back there again (it was like a special moment). My Current Rating: 4.6

½time: A pretty slow start but a few bangerz. Will “You Make Me Feel” hold tha No. 1 favorite spot? I know somethin’ has to be better… especially since I heard that song already.

12. Rihanna “Disturbia (Jody Den Broeder Radio Edit)”

Lol @ JDB mixin’ her again. They should’ve gave CL tha JDB mix on here and SS tha Rihanna song. Mix up, lol (even tho I don’t think there’s a “Disturbia (Soul Seekerz)” mix yet). I heard this on MCD and it’s kinda boring so JDB won on tha Cyndi mix. >>> Shit, it’s 3 minutes, 51 seconds. I thought it was shorter. Lol @ tha “disturbia”s! :rofl It’s okay, but there has to be a better mix. Too bad this tha main remix err-body iz goin’ wit. My Rating: 3.5

13. Moby Feat. Grandmaster Caz “I Love To Move In Here (Seamus Haji Radio Edit)”

And what tha fuck happens after “Disco Lies”? LOL! Who would’ve thought “Disco Lies” would EXPLODE tha way it did (even wit me). Curious to hear tha new joint! >>> Okay he chose a Rap style for tha 2^nd time (he had “Alice”, tha single before “Disco Lies”, and that was a HOT Rap style song). I can see this bein’ good. Tha music iz good and tha chorus iz not bad. Speaking of “ol’ school, takin’ ya back,” I’m makin’ a DVD of me for my boy Alex McConduit. It’s me from 1999 – now. I actually found out tha 1^st time I did a Top 10 Countdown: July 5, 2000. Good shit and I was hella funny back in tha day. I said tha most random shit wit tha most random voice, so I can go wit that line. We’ll see about growin’ on me in tha future. My Rating: 3.9

14. Kraak & Smaak Feat. Ben Westbeech “Squeeze Me (Radio Edit)”

We’re pullin’ tha brakes right now as things get a lil’ slower, since this joint iz 110 BPM. They’re a MCE artist who had only one song played on there (still does). “Keep Me Home” featuring Dez. Let’s see this. Hope it’s good. >>> Sounds like what a Rap song would sound like in tha beginning (wit that sample and that beat). A lil’ boring… What a letdown for me! I thought this was Dance Radio! Leave this for Promo Only Alternative Club (where a lot of tha MCE music comes from)! This a fuck up move. :td Too short for me to absorb to “somewhat” like. My Rating: 1.5

15. Plumb “In My Arms (Kaskade Radio Edit)”

I was gonna curse but I’m wondering why it’s gettin’ out there again. It better bring some ’08 life into it and leave tha Fall ’07 life behind. Even Party 105.3 mixshow IC’d it… Low AL. >>> Now it sounds like Ambient music, lol. 3:41 on tha length? This iz wasted space. We didn’t need this song to come back. Let this just go on Music Choice Sounds Of The Seasons, not here. NOBODY better get this mix also! Even Adult Contemporary stations have tha original, lol. I don’t wanna rate it but I’m going to. My Rating: 2.0

Intermission: It’s 10:00 PM flat and tha show iz starting… Even though I don’t have really any AL for it (due to nothin’ iz really said about me during it), I’ll prolly just skip listening to their songs and just listen to them talk. I know Jenny Bliss iz up next so to hope her song iz gonna be REAL GOOD, I think I better wait a lil’… *Break starts* *Break ends* Okay it’s 10:06 PM. I’m gonna prolly take a few seconds to listen to see if they’re talkin’ after one song I play on here so here we go!

16. Jenny Bliss “All About Me (Radio Edit)”

She comes back and there’s even a “content warning” on tha CD cover, lol. Watch, she prolly says “damn” or “hell” or some shit that PO gets offended by, lol. High AL tho!! >>> Sounds a lil’ like “See You Again” wit tha music, only slower. Tha intro was almost alike and I liked it. So far nice and smooth and good. Yeah she said “I don’t give a damn.” OH PO IZ HURT! WAH WAH WAH!! Pretty good and pretty Pop type feeling. Pop stations need to play music like this that have a Pop feel to it. My Rating: 4.3

17. Antoine Clamaran & Mario Ochoa Feat. Lulu Hughes “Give Some Love (Klaas Remix Edit)”

MCD has 3 different versions: this and 2 others. There’s one (some Tristan dude remixed it) and his iz tha best version! Sounded great! Lemme hear tha Klaas one. >>> Sounds like “This Time” in tha beginning of tha verse. I can’t really go for this mix. It’s not just as GOOD as tha Tristan one. Klaas needs to stick wit tha “Ride Like The Wind” productions. Really, Klaas shouldn’t’ve remixed this ‘cause female vocals don’t go wit him. Bad mix. My Rating: 3.1

18. Wideboys Feat. Shaznay Lewis “Daddy-O (Wideboys Radio Edit)”

This should be interesting! I hope everything comes from left field! High AL!! >>> Yes interesting so far (even though it’s short). Lol @ tha “daddy-O’s”. :rofl I like tha cell-phone sound when she says “call on you Daddy-O” (during tha beginning of tha chorus). :) This iz a hot song for me and I give it luck in tha future. :) My Rating: 4.3

19. Stefanie “You Never Said You Loved Me (Rev-Players Radio Edit)”

Didn’t think this came yet… But statistically my highest AL and this iz my highest AL. This’ll prolly be a lot hotter than tha other Amathus song (tha Ava Dayton one). Very high AL! Hope it’s a VERY HIGH RATING from me!! :) >>> A lil’ tech-house beginning. I didn’t expect that. Definitely different wit tha beat and if I could hear more vocals, that would be great. It should’ve been a lil’ longer and there needed to be more words. I’m gonna give it a good rating still. Just more needed to happen wit this song. My Rating: 4.2

20. J. Paul Feat. Skaught Parry “Chemical Dependence (Radio Mix)”

Tha boy Rod Carrillo hit me up on MySpace a few dayz ago and he was like “I been readin’ your reviews and you make Eddie [Amador] and I strive to make better music,” so I was real glad he friend requested me. He was real glad about my reviews. And now, we arrived at this song, wit a great title too. I’m talkin’ about Rod Carrillo ‘cause this song iz from his labels, DanceMusicLabel.Com and Carrillo Music. We went through tha “spotlight”… we went across tha “arizona bump”… we flew past tha “nonsense words”… we got “saved” wit “Save Me”, so now we’ll see what’s up wit this. And because Rod Carrillo hit me up (and iz curious about my opinion on this), I got a high AL (anticipation level) for it! Hope it’s good! >>> A good intro and I definitely give this credit for soundin’ a bit better than some of tha shit on this Promo Only Dance Radio August 2008 CD. Pretty good. It’s somethin’ different. Sounds like it could be a mainstream dance banger. I know Music Choice Dance only played “Arizona Bump” (barely played it, but them gettin’ it iz what really matters) but we’ll see what happens. My Rating: 4.2

21. Nicola Fasano vs. Pat-Rich “75, Brazil Street (Vocal Radio Edit)”

Tha previous version (without vocals) kinda wore off on me. I think vocals were needed. I can just imagine what it would sound like wit vocals. Very very curious! High AL!! >>> Now I know why tha song iz located on “Brazil Street,” lol. She’s sayin’ somethin’ wit “Brazil.” This song did need vocals and I’m glad we got ‘em! :) At 3:02, they changed it a lil’. Not bad. I’m glad for this version. What will MCD do wit tha original version of this? Will they get it and replace it? My Rating: 4.2

22. Solange Knowles “I Decided (Moto Blanco Edit)”

Beyoncé’s lil’ sister. Original version (Part 1) I just added to my playlist as it’s not bad/good. Part 2, produced by Freemasons, I thought was gonna be Dance but it’s still R&B (wit 128 BPM no less) so that was a downer for me. Mr. Mig Radio Edit that I tried was too long (it’s like 4:38) and I didn’t really go for it. Watch Moto Blanco win this, lol. We’ll see… >>> Too slow. I go wit tha original 136 BPM version. I actually think it’s decent, but tha “Spotlight” mix was better on here, lol. My Rating: 3.6

Overall: End Time: 11:23 PM. Not sure if this CD was good. It was kinda a downer and nothin’ was really special. Nothin’ surpased tha best song that I knew already (“You Make Me Feel”). Tha last CD was so much better. I’m not gonna do tha “Songs/Mixes On My Sources” thing anymore ‘cause on tha last one, I guessed that “Heartbroken” wasn’t gonna get out there and it hit all 3 of my sources. Kinda weird me guessin’ wrong but it’s w/e.
