Review #1,409: Promo Only: Dance Radio July 2014

Reviewed on 6.30.2014 (Review #1,409)

Time to review Promo Only: Dance Radio July 2014! I remember with tha tracklisting that this gon be a PO with tha most catchiest titles, eva?! Start Time: 4:11 PM | End Time: 6:12 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Michael Jackson “Love Never Felt So Good (Fedde Le Grand Radio Edit)”
PO put an “E” on “Grand”, smh? They don’t know how to spell his name, by now? Anyway, Epic Records, here. Not only are we startin’ it off wit a HM, but you can exclude any thoughts of a drop, here! If it’s MJ, it’s a total ignore, no matter what! Most-dickrided artist of all-time? Argh, lemme get tha full listen… >>> Such disco-y in tha beginning! Not only that, he stole from Jackie Moore “This Time Baby” (song Freemasons & Amanda Wilson “Love On My Mind” sampled)! Gayyyyyy!! Love how tha drop sounds like someone dragged out a huge fart! I don’t care if quality fart drops are for Deorro; this iz shit! Version on tha radio had Justin Timberlake on it, but since this iz a house remix of just tha chorus, JT’s not here. My Rating: 1.1

02. Sander Van Doorn, Martin Garrix & DVBBS Feat. Aleesia “Gold Skies”
Casablanca, here… Can I just say, WORST PO TITLE EVER?!? We all know tha 2nd part of tha title, unknown rapper from Baton Rouge, LA stole $555 from me back on November 17, 2011, and I would cringe if I’d see that title anywhere! However, after a few listens, this iz quality, so there won’t be any hard feelings or ignores, here! Waited for a lil’ more exposure and for PO to pick it up, so I can get it, since I have a lotta songs in rotation. Have to luv tha vocals, here, includin’ tha nice music on tha 1st chorus! Like I said, even though tha title threw me off, at least it’s “gold!” I dunno about tha shit after tha chorus; almost sounds like The Beatles on tha vocals? Drop’s pretty good, though I expected a lot better from two DJs & a group, especially Garrix! Tha actual quality of tha song sounds tha best on tha last 21 seconds; why just an ending? My Rating: 4.0

03. Bassnectar Feat. W Darling “You & Me”
Damn, PO not showin’ any luv to tha featured artist? Featuring: W Darling! C3 on tha label, here, and I think anotha error: 140 BPM? Heard it on MCD and it just sounds like a slow DS song… And, PO, I know you’ve been pointin’ it out: DS = 70 BPM; you forgot to cut it in half! As for tha vocals, they sound like some good VT-like vocals, at least. Okay, now that I’m hearin’ it a lil’ more on tha drop, it does sound 140ish; there’s tha kicks, but I don’t feel it at all times. Either way, DS’ kinda dead for my interests, now, so I don’t see this makin’ big noise wit me. My Current Rating: 3.3

04. Beyoncé “Pretty Hurts (R3hab Remix Edit)”
Columbia Records. Not really anticipated, but I hope R3hab does a nice job… >>> An okay start with good music… Chorus iz aight; doesn’t sound like somethin’ that would grab me. Hearin’ tha drop and it sounds really identical to Rita Ora’s “IWNLYD” (5/14 PO), so I dunno if that grabs me, either, since R3hab’s jackin’ his own style. My Rating: 3.5

05. Third Party “Everyday Of My Life”
Almost had a trust issue when I first heard it. I thought it was one of them deep house-soundin’ songs. However, with Size Records on tha label, I knew I had to trust it. A lil’ bit of cheesy vocals and repeatin’ house style, but then, tha climax & drop comes, and it’s over! Hot! Puts me in a great mood! My Current Rating: 4.6

06. John Martin “Anywhere For You (Tiësto vs. Dzeko & Torres Radio Edit)”
Looks like it gon be a good remix. Original version sounds nice, but at times, certain, similar drops can get boring. Anyway, major label, Island, on tha signin’ for this SHM vocalist! >>> Kinda sounds slow; original version might be better? I hear tha D&T-type climax… Tha drop sounds like their drops; not bad, too… I guess it puts you in tha mood…? Kinda startin’ ta get boring during tha 2nd verse, for me… Tha 2nd drop sounds better… My Rating: 3.7

07. Tujamo “Hey Mister”
“Hey,” look who’s in tha building? Robbins! I bet this an IDS song; let’s see if it’s worth it, for them! >>> Love how PO tricked me with tha zero-second intro. I was like, “No words,” but these vocals are kinda ehh; at least it’s just a title part. Beat sounds pretty nice; a lil’ on tha “Boneless” tip, with tha sounding… I dig tha beginning part, though, tha music on tha chorus… Seemed kinda short, but it’s good. Prolly would’ve been better without vocals. My Rating: 4.2

08. Klingande Feat. Lucie Decarne “Jubel (Nora En Pure Radio Edit)”
LOL, back again? Iz this tha mix MCD got (not listed)? >>> It kinda sounds like their mix, though I like tha original version better. BPM only increased by 1 and it has more of a regular sound than just tha saxophone… Kinda pointless for this to appear on here, once again, though… My Rating: 3.0

09. Pitbull Feat. G.R.L. “Wild Wild Love (Jump Smokers Remix)”
Labels: Mr. 305 / Polo Grounds / RCA; absolutely no interest! >>> Shitty start; sounds like tha My Crazy Girlfriend remix JS did on tha last edition! Chorus got a lil’ betta, but whateva… We all know Pit’s wack, on these tracks; no need for anything else said! Still can’t believe Pit called me for my 17th & 18th birthdayz, back in 2005 & 2006! My Rating: 2.1

10. Borgore & Sikdope “Unicorn Zombie Apocalypse”
What a title!! Almost thought it was tha new Borgeous song (BTW, tha vocalist’s name from “Invincible” and that new song, “Wildfire”, iz Julia Michaels)! I bet afta that shittiness that some hotness gon come out, on here!! >>> Sounds like a countdown to somethin’… Ooh @ :45!! A weird drop, here; sounds like someone’s gettin’ murdered, lol? Bring out tha abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center that I luv visiting, lol! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Kinda a weird PO, so far. There’s a few shitty songs, as well as a bunch of mixes that didn’t belong. Not too much tightness, here, as tha CD rating’s only at a 3.4, fa me…

11. Roger Shah Presents Sunlounger Feat. Chase “Surrender (Walden Radio Edit)”
An import, here, from Black Hole Recordings, as well as “Presents”! And, we have a trance-like DJ, here, so I’m definitely lookin’ forward! >>> Music sounds pretty good… Hmm, a song with two verses before tha chorus; a lil’ risky? Tryna keep my interest up… A 3rd verse? Where’s tha chorus? I finally hear it; just sounds like a verse, and I’m kinda losin’ interest… Overall, too soft for me, and there wasn’t any climaxes or drops. Really disappointed; thought this was gon be way better! My Rating: 2.4

12. Cazzette Feat. The High “Sleepless”
Anotha feature error, as they forgot it (The High, I think tha feature iz). Anyway, ICONS & PRMD are tha labels, here; don’t think I was too crazy about this, but I’ll rehear it… >>> Daft Punk-y vocals, to start it off, with no beat, smh. God, I’m yawning, as we speak! Too ironic fa this title and sound? Not really into tha music; tha climax almost made it seem like there could’ve been a chance… —nah! Thanx fa tha deep house, Cazzette! Just anotha weak PO song! My Rating: 1.4

13. Dillon Francis & DJ Snake “Get Low”
PO, what do you mean by “Verified Intro”? Columbia Records, here; this on tha older side. This came out earlier this year and though I think tha drop’s so silly and entertainin’, it neva got to enter my playlist. I guess this tha time for it to just be added as an “ignore add”, with me, randomly gettin’ spins? And as I’m hearin’ it, it’s tha same intro as MCD! “Verified” as in “late,” to me! My Current Rating: 4.1

14. Kaaze & Michael Feiner “We Will Recover”
Wasn’t sure what to expect, but by seein’ Tiësto’s Musical Freedom label, it must be good? >>> Nice start, here… Feelin’ tha vocals; gives me that same anticipation as Jus Jack’s “Stars”, when reviewin’ it, from tha 5/14 PO. Likin’ tha title part and chorus! Finally, this PO recovered; hot climax!!! And, tha drop has quality in it, too! My Rating: 4.5

15. CID & Mednas “Ill Behavior”
Ooh, a new Size Records song, outta nowhere!! Likin’ tha title, but I have a feelin’ they gon sample an old song, with this title? >>> Whoo @ tha start; can’t deny Size Records!! Oh fuck, of course, I’m right with tha sample! It’s from a rapper-soundin’ dude that died only in his mid-20’s, from a rare disease, back in tha ‘90s. “Renegade Master” was tha name of tha original track. Music was pretty nice, but this drop’s pretty stale… Either way, this sounds kinda “ill,” so I’ll consider it good. My Rating: 4.3

16. Dave Audé vs. Luciana “You Only Talk In #Hashtag”
Dave’s Audacious label, here… And, I have a huge AL fa this, lol!! This prolly gon be a guilty pleasure, but you know how I do!! Got a backflippin’ DJ vs. a crazy chick, now 37 years-old!! >>> Sounds like a crazy beat start; it ‘bout ta get crazy! LOL @ tha chorus; lots of random yada-yada! I dunno how I can keep up wit err-thang goin’ on, here, but “#Selfie”-influenced, lol? And yea, gotta feel Dave’s lil’ music, here (drop?); that’ll get you in tha mood! Pretty crazy, though it’ll prolly take a ton of listens before I can catch all tha lyrics and meanings, lol. “L-O-L-O-L-O-L?” Didn’t realize she said that in tha background of tha intro and near tha end! Thought it was an “808-808-808” or somethin’, “lol!” My Rating: 4.4

17. Moxie Raia “Buffalo Bill (LA Riots Radio Edit)”
Looks anticipatin’… Off tha Tim & Danny label (NHI), but also, major label, Capitol Records. >>> Instant start; feelin’ tha quick beginning and then, a quiet riot, lol? Sounds like a “drunk” song? A lil’ catchy, so far, but anticipatin’ that music… Catchy lil’ title part and tha drop’s pretty hot, in a unique way! I like everything about all tha music parts, here, soundin’ great! My Rating: 4.4

18. Trevor Simpson “Whirling Dervish”
Follow-up to his tight “Clappin’” (1/14 PO)! Anotha release by Rod Carrillo’s Carrillo Music; lookin’ forward to hearin’ this catchy title!! >>> I had a feelin’ there would be some “whirling”, involved, and it sounds like it, here and there. Sounds pretty hot once tha chorus / drop came on, at :45! Anotha nicely-done IDS song by Mr. Trevor! My Rating: 4.5

19. Above & Beyond Feat. Alex Vargas “Sticky Fingers”
Ultra on tha signin’, of course… Got a sample after seein’ it on P105, and I was pretty disappointed with tha speed of it (126 BPM). Anytime I see it that slow on a trance artist, I just lose interest, immediately. Only track I really liked that was under 130 for a trance artist was Matt Darey & Leah’s “Hold Your Breath (KhoMha Remix)”. Only 128 BPM, but I felt it so much; oh, gettin’ nostalgic memories of it, now that I’m typin’ about it! >>> Sounds like their typical singer (Richard Bedford) on tha vocals, here. Great lyrics and vocals but really, what’s that dry drop? A “drop” shouldn’t be in their music; it should be hot trance music, with speed! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like a grandpa, almost! “Dinosaur” iz right, Mr. Vargas! Tha 2nd drop added some sounds, but c’mon, it’s still dry. My Rating: 3.4

20. DJ Snake Feat. Lil’ Jon “Turn Down For What (CEO Less Than 2 Min. Edit)”
Look at these labels: Fuzion / Little Jonathan / I / Columbia. Anyway, despite tha collab and shit, I neva was into this song. Even rappers caught onto tha saying and this song made tha Top 10 in Billboard? So random! I also luv how it’s “Less Than 2 Min. Edit” as tha mix, but it’s 3:31; booo!!! It’s prolly tha same version everyone plays! *Checks* What’d I tell ya? I just luv how I ignored it; blew up outta nowhere and it’s very random of a song! My Current Rating: 2.5

Overall: I didn’t really think this PO went over too well. Tha jointz that were tight were pretty nice, but there was too much shitty songs. Nice 2nd ½, but I think PO needs to be more up-to-date and better music needs to get out there!
