Review #2,026: Promo Only "Dance Radio September 2022"

Reviewed on 8.11.2022 (Review #2,026)

Back at it with anotha Promo Only review! This tyme, it’s Dance Radio September 2022! It’s been almost a week that I’ve had this on my laptop but have been stayin’ really productive, lately. After my whole victim-of-a-robbery incident from 1 ½ months ago, I decided I needed to step up my productive game. So, I decided to create a commercial series challenge that lasts 23,701 dayz! All tha way till June 21, 2087! I’m workin’ on everything involved with it (captions, tymelines, music, blogging & more); every day I’ve been home from my full-tyme, I’ve been mainly workin’ on that. It’s just, today’s schedule was a lil’ different, so I had a chance to get this review in. Most of tha tracks already are out there, so that’s anotha reason why I delayed this. Looks like it’s gonna be an easy edition, so lemme enjoy & see what I can calculate outta this September edition…! Start Tyme: 4:42 PM | End Tyme: 6:26 PM

Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type (frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

01. Dom Dolla feat. Clementine Douglas “Miracle Maker”
Label: Three Six Zero
Lmao @ this as tha starting song!! How awesome of a pick, lol! I’ono if I’m likin’ tha radio edit, tho; like tha regular version betta. Felt like tha chorus just jumped in, rather than that amped-up intro. Either way, awesome house track from these two. Luv tha lil’ “anotha jam from tha Miracle Maker…” vocal, too…! Then, tha drop hits & tha music progresses! With this bein’ tha 1st track on here, I hope this does betta with its reputation, now that it’s out there more. Gotta mention, too, that I’m likin’ tha way tha ending sounds. I like that “Miracle Maker” vocal part, again & tha echoing ending; good shit. My Current Rating: 4.6

02. TELYKast feat. PHIA “Body To Body”
Label: Musical Freedom
Glad to see these TK boyz keepin’ these tracks goin’. No matter tha slap-housey sound, they get tha right people to sing on their tracks! Shout out to this PHIA girl, from one of Punctual’s recent tracks (“Maze”). Diggin’ tha lyrics, here, includin’ tha chorus & vibe! “Feel it in my veins, tha flame…” Anotha track that seems like, blink, it’s already over, lol. Hope this one gets out there more & more, especially that it’s tha 2nd track on this edition. Go, TELYBoyz, go TELYBoyz, lol! My Current Rating: 4.4

03. LF SYSTEM “Afraid To Feel (CID Remix)”
Label: Warner
Heard tha original; not too sure how I feel about likin’ it that much. Hopefully, CID made it betta? >>> So far, at least he made a good intro outta this sappy track. Likin’ how there’s a more-music, less-vocal approach, here… Cool lil’ dubs b4 tha chorus kicked in, even tho tha chorus still sappy to me. Just hearin’ tha “when I look in your eyes…” part makes me think of it bein’ a sappy, pitched sample. As far as tha rest of this, basically, it’s what I said, x2, lol. My Rating: 3.5

04. Joe Stone “Lean On Me”
Label: Spinnin’
Let’s see how Mr. Joe comin’ on this edition… >>> Kickin’ it off with a hidden female & a slap-housey start in tha music… Tha 1st verse sounds like tha hidden vocalist sounds betta than tha music. Then, tha chorus comes in & it sounds nice, includin’ how tha beats kick in; good shit. Lol, no drop? Right into tha 2nd verse, which, at least sounds betta than tha 1st one for me. My Rating: 4.0

05. Disco Killerz x Liquid Todd “Let Me Know (dEVOLVE Radio Edit)”
Label: Payback/Big Beat
Saw this one out there, too; I remember thinkin’ I liked it but neva added it. Lemme get a rehear, here… >>> Sounds like a decent lil’ track from a hidden male vocalist, here… Hearin’ tha chorus part & it’s okay; likin’ tha lil’ “callin’ & callin’…” part in tha drop & how it progresses betta…! Tha rest of this sounds good; sounds more like a track that would have to grow on me more… My Rating: 3.9

06. Martin Garrix, DallasK & Sasha Alex Sloan “Loop”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Speakin’ of nice collabz, here comes anotha one. Likin’ this one from tha three of these artists…! Seems like an okay start with tha music, throughout tha 1st verse & tha low-pitched SAS on tha vocals, soundin’ catchy. Tha chorus sounds good, as it starts off all quiet & then, tha drop hits! Tha vocal-chops start hittin’! Hope all three of them continue to keep tha music comin’, throughout tyme! They alwayz deliver, in a unique way. My Current Rating: 4.3

07. Imanbek & BYOR “Belly Dancer”
Label: Musical Freedom/Big Beat
Not feelin’ this one, only ‘cause of tha original bein’ a guilty pleasure fa me, back in ’05. Like, Akon songs, remade! Where did my generation go…? Lol…? Dry beats to go with tha low-pitched, slap-housey vibe. I’d say, if there’s one catchy thing about this track, I’d say it’s when Akon’s “ahh-ahh” iz manipulated in to tha beat; that’s it. My Current Rating: 1.1

08. Calvin Harris, Justin Timberlake, Halsey & Pharrell Williams “Stay With Me”
Label: Columbia
Lol @ this quadruple collab. Who woulda thought a collab like this would happen… Halsey sounds good in tha beginning, includin’ how tha funky beats of Mr. Harris. With JT comin’ in on tha 1st verse, it’s okay; at least he ain’t as sappy as tymes in tha past. I like how him & Halsey collab on tha “damn…” part; definitely nice. As far as Pharrell comin’ in, too, he sounds like a random addition. I’ono how much I’ll prioritize this track but it’s basically, okay. I just like how it’s a quadruple collab that turned out to go over well. We’ll see how it does, as tha world turns… My Current Rating: 3.8

09. Tritonal & Eric Lumiere “Something Beautiful”
Label: Enhanced
A collab more up my alley, here…! This one should be exciting to hear & I hope it does good in tha world, comin’ up…! >>> Yeah! I’m likin’ this beginning & 1st verse from Eric on tha vocals, here…! Definitely sounds like catchy vocals & how it transitions into tha chorus; definitely a dope chorus, too…! As far as tha drop, it sounds okay; kinda throws me off a lil’ when one of tha sound layers pause (e.g., like in their “Long Way Home” track from two years ago). Either way, cool drop, I guess? I like how it ends & transitions into tha 2nd verse, even tho I thought it woulda been stronger… Tha 2nd verse sounds like a good verse, too, even tho I felt more anticipated durin’ tha 1st one. I’m likin’ how b4 tha 2nd drop that tha beats get a lil’ interesting… As far as tha rest of tha track, it’s okay/tha regular drop. My Rating: 4.4

10. David Guetta “Family Affair (Dance For Me)”
Label: FFRR/Warner
Not feelin’ this one, just like tha Akon-remade song… At least with tha Akon one, tha vocals were different; this one’s all original (Mary J.). Just sounds like Guetta wanted a lil’ more $$$ but, in my opinion, shoulda made him have LESS $$$, since Mary J. & tha crew are gettin’ royal-to-tha-ties! At least tha last 12 seconds, minus tha “dance for me” part My Current Rating: 1.0

½tyme: Seems like a gumbo pot fulla everything, in this review? Some really-low scores, some really-high scores, decent tracks, you name it. All in tha name of a 3.5 average rating, so far. Now that tha two (Akon-remade & Mary J.-remade) are out tha way, I can guarantee that 3.5 gon boost its way up…!

11. Tate McRae “What Would You Do? (Galantis Remix)”
Label: RCA
Let’s see what’s up with her, now. >>> I’ono if I’m really feelin’ tha beginning; sounds a lil’ boring & dry for Galantis on tha remix. Hearin’ tha chorus part & it sounds like a normal-soundin’ Galantis level of excitement, at least. Catchy lil’ chorus & then, a drop that transitions into a, like, Martin Solveig-type beat that’s catchy, too… This one may be on a grower tip for me, too, so hearin’ it more may help, I guess? My Rating: 3.6

12. Lucas & Steve x CRCLE “Every Day”
Label: Spinnin’
Lookin’ forward to anotha L&S contribution…! >>> Sounds like a cross between R&B & house, here… Seems like a 50/50 track between bein’ cool & somethin’ you can feel; good shit… Hearin’ tha “la-la-la” part, too & it blends nicely with these lyrics about an “Every Day” lifestyle. Also, this seems like anotha track that, blink, it’s over, lol; tha shortstyle world we in… My Rating: 4.1

13. GT_Ofice feat. Amanda Collis “Never Together”
Label: Caine
A Lucky 13, here? I definitely think so!! Got to listen to it on tha POOL player & now, it’s lucky to be here! Shout out to tha voice of Amanda Collis, here, helpin’ my guy out, who’s followin’ me on Instagram. Didn’t get to play this one too-too much, just yet, but wanted this review to hit different, due to bein’ patient. Now, I’m glad to feel tha strong vocals & music tha two of them bring to tha table, here! Definitely feel tha lyrics & vibe for how tha future turned out to be, currently… Her vocals are so strong, here, to where you gotta literally be in tha 100.00% mindset to enjoy ‘em. Like, you’ll get hit wit ‘em in a strong way…! So glad Mr. GT knows how to really capture tha vibe with his slammin’ beats & music, here; greatness…! My Current Rating: 4.8

14. Young Bombs feat. Audrey Mika “Kinda Funny”
Label: Sony Canada
One second less than a whole two minutes, at 119 seconds, here… My mom really appreciated their PO-ignored song, “U Up?”, courtesy of SiriusXM BPM & now, we’ll see if this one gets out there like “U Up?”… >>> Sounds good with this one & tha strong intro; music’s definitely on point, here…! Tha vocals give me that R&B feel that I mentioned a few songs ago, on here; definitely unique! Feelin’ tha music, chorus & drop! Definitely somethin’ strong, here! Gotta feel it, compared to tha paces of their other tracks. They’ve come a long way since I first heard them, durin’ & just like my troubled tymes! Go, Young Bombs!! My Rating: 4.5

15. AYYBO feat. ero808 “Hypnosis”
Label: Funkshway
One of tha few tracks on here where I don’t know tha tracks. This one more anticipatin’ ‘cause I don’t know tha artists & tha label, so I’m in for a surprise… >>> Based off tha first few seconds, it sounds like a male-vocal that’s inspired by R&B-like content? Also, a house beat to get err-body “in a hypnosis!” Lol @ tha trumpet drop; definitely feelin’ it, includin’ tha whole ethics of stayin’ true to tha title’s content! I’m so glad I trusted my instincts; glad a track like this can be catchy in all wayz…! Diggin’ how tha trumpet vibe reminds me of, say, CID & his “Carnaval De Paris” track, from earlier this year; hope for some exposure to tha world…! My Rating: 4.4

16. Kygo with Dean Lewis “Freeze (John Summit Remix)”
Label: Kygo/RCA
Lol @ me with “tha feeling of feeling higher” ‘cause this track’s here! Definitely diggin’ how Mr. Summit came through & turned this track in to a supa-dope house anthem! Gotta luv tha hypnosis feeling of tha dubbed vocals & how John Summit progresses tha track along…! Also, I luv durin’ tha drop, after tha vocals, that tha sounds add a soothing feeling to your thought process. For example, last night, I had it blastin’ in my car, at my full-tyme’s parking lot. I just took in every thought, feeling, surrounding & more in me, just to make sure I was 100.00% on point! Of course, I was! Great job from tha three of ‘em: Kygo, Mr. Dean Lewis & Mr. John Summit! My Current Rating: 4.9

17. MK & BURNS feat. Teddy Swims “Better”
Label: Ultra
Seems like anotha dope collab, once again. Of course, tha MK vibe + BURNS & you get… this. Great message to what world I’m livin’ in, currently; definitely appreciatin’ these lyrics! Like, how can any1 deny some1 like me, who comes through with 100.00% of positivity at all tymes?! Sometymes, it seems like tha ending part more like a church choir but in tha end, it turned out this anotha gr8 collab…! My Current Rating: 4.2

18. MEDUZA x James Carter feat. Elley Duhé + FAST BOY “Bad Memories”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
Keepin’ this world of big collabz comin’ with this quadruple collab! Almost thought tha male vocals were cheesy with tha acoustic-sounding start. Then, all tha parts of tha song built up…! What a way to impress me, MEDUZA x James… Luv when Elley comes in & believes that she’s “trippin’”; that’s an ear-catcher… For some reason, when hearin’ tha male vocals & tha previous MEDUZA success, I feel like this can be a mainstream song? We’ll have to hope, I guess? My Current Rating: 4.4

19. Whitney Houston “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) (David Solomon Remix)”
Label: Payback/Legacy/Arista
>>> Pointless. Too bad Mr. “D-Sol” wasted his energy on tha drop, here. Coulda used it for a new song? Weird how with DS, either I really love his tracks or I can’t tolerate them. Unfortunately, we’re on tha intolerable path, here… I don’t have any comments, really; just more of an ear-cringe to me, here. My Rating: 1.0

20. ILLENIUM & Teddy Swims “All That Really Matters”
Label: Warner
Still more to come with ILLENIUM, on this edition, despite there bein’ only one song left. Also, speakin’ of some1 with anotha song on here, it’s TS! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ what they brought to tha table, here… >>> Them slow ILLEN beats, here, but soundin’ nice with Teddy’s vocals. Hearin’ tha chorus & it sounds a lil’ on tha anthemic side…; hearin’ tha drop & it’s hittin’, in a way… This sounds like anotha track that has some strong lyrics, too. Like, it’s all about tha “love”! That’s “All That Really Matters”! My Rating: 3.7

21. Dillon Francis, ILLENIUM & EVAN GIIA “Don’t Let Me Let Go”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Endin’ with a STRONG track, here! Talk about lyrics that literally feel like they came from my heart, which recently got musically broken. Definitely likin’ how Dillon handles tha verses, while ILLEN gets tha drop all heated up & EG sings/delivers tha vox in an awesome way! Tha drop definitely fulla hypnotization; great job, with this triple collab! It just sux how everything had to go how it went, with me, but life goes on, I guess? I’m tha strong one, in tha end! My Current Rating: 4.7

Overall: Ended tha review at 6:26 PM, ironically, after “Don’t Let Me Let Go” ended tha review & 6/26 was my victim-of-a-robbery day. It’s crazy but I can’t wait to look back on tha past & just laugh at it. I know damn well that I have way more accomplishments & talents than they’ll eva have!! With that bein’ said, I’m happy that this review picked up a whole lot, durin’ tha 2nd ½! Not a frequent feat, these dayz! It’s tha music that gives me tha kinda energy to get me through these dayz…! Seems like our current generation iz movin’ into one with some more energy than b4, which iz interesting & unique. It’s weird how tha better energy can come out, while sufferin’ from such a dark tyme…!
