Review #2,027: Promo Only "Dance Radio October 2022"

Reviewed on 9.12.2022 (Review #2,027)

Promo Only Dance Radio October 2022
iz here! I peeped out tha tracklist while I was away in Louisiana this past weekend, appearin’ in a movie they just released. I have to say, it impressed me a lil’. I found it funny that I was on them Addies while peepin’ out tha tracklist & I saw that we have BOTH a 137 & 138 BPM track on this edition!! How will those two rank? Well, tha 137 one, I already know, thanx to Diplo’s Revolution. More on that & everything else, as I steer myself into tha Dance Radio October 2022 Promo Only review by yours truly…! Start Tyme: 4:30 PM | End Tyme: 6:18 PM

Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type (frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

01. Afrojack & Black V Neck feat. Muni Long “Day N Night”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Tha startin’ track off this edition… Almost ain’t realize tha vocalist’s name till I looked-looked into it & was like, “Oh no…” Bein’ tha extra-dedicated person that I am, I feel that, effective November 17, 2011, anybody new in tha game with a money reference bothers me. It’s different when I link up with Money Boy, a rapper/promoter outta Baton Rouge, as we discovered each other b4 my November 17, 2011 robbery. With that bein’ said, I don’t really remember how this went/don’t remember it, so I’m gonna give it tha full listen, now. >>> Sounds like a good lil’ R&B vocalist on tha track; almost didn’t expect this track to be as great as it sounds… I love how on tha 1st verse, Muni said, “Slime,” as in today’s generation’s (lol) YoungBoy slang. Cool that this tha startin’ track with this dude with tha Black V Neck on tha collab w/Afrojack… Definitely feelin’ tha energy & how all three of them utilize their talents…! We’ll see how much this one gets out there, in tha future… My Rating: 4.3

02. Joel Corry & Becky Hill “History”
Label: Big Beat/Atlantic
Anotha one out there, recently, though I ain’t pay too much attention to it. *Rehears* >>> Just seems like anotha Joel Corry track in tha wind…; just seems like anotha Becky-collaborated track in tha wind… Nothin’ bad; just your regular-soundin’ dance collab of today. Either way, with all that “HISTORY”, I would hope that “all those memories” can last & be remembered, just like how I remember ‘em. My Rating: 3.6

03. Eliza Rose “B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)”
Label: Warner
Like I mentioned earlier, as of June 25, 2021 @ 8:02 AM, I be randomly callin’ & referrin’ various UK-soundin’ dance tracks as “Adderall Music”. Really, just in tha dance genre, rangin’ from 134 – 137ish BPM, b4 you get to tha trance level. Shout out to salute for his track, “Want U There”, as I was playing it that morning. Tha track was my top dance track of 2021 & #3 track on my Top 588 Songs of 2021 year-end countdown. With that bein’ said, here comes this excellent track outta nowhere, on Diplo’s Revolution. I’m diggin’ that it samples a track I grew up to (Sound De-Zign & Shena’s “Happiness”) & how fast it iz (same as it was, in 2001)! As far as tha track goes, for this bein’ a shorter edit than tha regular version, it seems like it’s gonna go by so fast. Felt like tha beginning went right into tha vocals creepin’ up, as well as tha beats kickin’ in, like a ma’fucka!! I see a chorus got taken out b4 tha 2nd verse; seems like that was a hop from building to building, at 1:10, lol…! Luv her representation of tha “B.O.T.A.” lifestyle, with tha multiple vocal styles. Her vocals are spoken in a cool way, on tha chorus; her vocals are sung catchy on tha verses. Also, tha music doesn’t lose its energy, so that’s a major thumbs up! Props on tha awesome track!! Let it get its chips!! My Current Rating: 4.7

04. FISHER feat. MERYLL “Yeah The Girls”
Label: Catch & Release
Can’t imagine what this gon be like… >>> Sounds like a catchy lil’ track & I feel tha same way, especially from this past weekend! Just sounds like a cool lil’ track more than a feel-good track, here… Tha chorus sounds catchy with tha vocalizin’; definitely nice… Sounds like she just wants to be in that downer zone, drug-wise, lol? Nice lil’ combo of cool & feel-good vocalizin’ ta go with those beats…! My Rating: 4.3

05. Fred again.. x Swedish House Mafia feat. Future “Turn On The Lights Again”
Label: Big Beat/EMG
I remember sayin’ a decade ago, like, “Future, wtf iz wrong witchu?!” Now, who woulda thought he would collab with these boyz & go to a 132-tempo’d level? Crazy how tha world spins!! Luv how tha 1st 44 seconds of tha beginning of tha song were kept in here. Sounded like an unusual transition at 0:44 but it’s cool; tha song still goes hard…! Like, at 1:57, that was an OAF (odd-as-fuck) transition! Either way, definitely glad to see Fred again.. again, as well as tha trio of SHM & tha way they linked with Future, here. I remember sayin’ to myself, that night I got double-slapped in tha face, “A new era iz about to begin.” Well, I feel like these faster songs of today are on to somethin’…! Alwayz liked tha ending of tha song, too; luv tha vocal chops! Think: Future havin’ his vocals chopped! My Current Rating: 4.6

06. David Guetta & Bebe Rexha “I’m Good (Blue)”
Label: Warner
Even tho I’m feelin’ tha euphoric keys & music, I just think tha whole “Blue” remakin’ iz cheesy… Gotta luv tha Bebe vocals, tho; great vibes on tha chorus! Also, likin’ tha verse; got through V.I.P., two nights ago. It’s all about that longevity…! Tha way Bebe represents herself as bein’ 100.00% “good” like myself makes me appreciate her vibe more, on tha track. My Current Rating: 4.0

07. Aviella & Conro “Way Back”
Label: Dim Mak
Anotha decent song that’s out there, now… Tha collaboration ain’t that bad, here; don’t got much to say about tha vibe, this tyme… Rather just hear Conro on tha backin’ vocals on tha chorus than havin’ tha 2nd verse… I’ono, a decent lil’ bridge with him, too… My Current Rating: 3.5

08. Sam Feldt & David Solomon feat. Aloe Blacc “Future In Your Hands”
Label: Payback/Big Beat
Not too sure what to expect on this collab & am not too sure if I’m anticipatin’ it… 4:49 on tha length? Like, whaaaat?? >>> Sounds like an extended intro, like an extended version… Hearin’ Aloe on tha 1st verse & he alwayz sounds like some1 I neva anticipate. Hearin’ tha chorus & wtf @ that “Wake Me Up”-inspired bluegrass sound? Neva liked tha bluegrass but alwayz liked how tha drop sounded. Like, David Solomon contributed a nice “Wake Me Up”-inspired drop. Overall, a song a lil’ too boring & long, at tymes. Only a percentage of tha track I higlight (tha drop & lyrics). My Rating: 3.2

09. Jack Wins & SHELLS “Heartbreak”
Label: Spinnin’
Let’s see how this collab gon sound… >>> Likin’ how tha track starts instantly… Decent/good vocals from SHELLS, here; sounds better than tha previous JW track that’s been out there. Sometymes, durin’ tha verses, tha music can get a lil’ dry. Then again, it’s like SHELLS’ vocals & lyrics tease me to try to like it moreMy Rating: 3.7

½tyme: Sounds like this iz an interestin’ edition; can’t complain too-too much… Got a 4.0 for tha average rating, at tha ½tyme; let’s see what’s still to come…

10. DES3ETT feat. Amanda Thomsen “Seventeen”
Label: Robbins
Got to peep this track out, courtesy of tha POOL. Kinda reminds me of a teenager-like track, since it’s called “Seventeen”. Tha chick on tha track sounds catchy with tha Mauro Picotto-inspired music throughout tha track! “Komodo”… I’m likin’ how this collab turned out… I wonder how it’ll do in tha world? Chorus builds up nicely & then, tha supa-catchy drop, with all that vocalizin’ & “Komodo” sounds! My Current Rating: 4.4

11. RAYE “Black Mascara”
Label: Human Re Sources
Wonder how she comin’ without collaboratin’ with any1, this tyme…? >>> Kinda anticipatin’ this intro & chorus, as it instantly starts! Likin’ tha production & how she progresses after tha chorus; definitely buku catchiness, at tymes…! Tha beats can be dry on a male vocalist but RAYE holds it down with a lotta catchy wayz! Oh shit, even some rappin’ at 1:57! Luvin’ tha variety of vocal styles! Definitely more than I anticipated! As cool as this track sounds, I hope it gets out there in a good way…! My Rating: 4.5

12. ManyFew x Mr. Belt & Wezol “Body Rock”
Label: Spinnin’
Looks like an anticipatin’ collab… I know of ManyFew from tha Loren Reed “Something ‘Bout You” track from tha 6/17 edition—wow, more than five years ago! Tha fizzuck?! Let’s see how all them gon come thru on this track… >>> Sounds like it gon be a house-type track, based off tha 1st 15 seconds? Sounds like good vocals; might have to get used to them… Tha chorus came thru kinda quick & then, tha upliftin’ drop to progress tha track; sounds good for tha “body”… Definitely feelin’ that unexpected music at 1:26; definitely cool b4 tha 2nd chorus! My Rating: 3.9

13. Black Eyed Peas feat. Shakira & David Guetta “Don’t You Worry (Dubdogz & Mark Ursa Remix)”
Label: BEP/Epic
Oh Geez… >>> Sounds like an “I Gotta Feeling”-type beginning & inspired vibe… Nothin’ that I’d be too crazy about, due to tha guilty pleasureness… Kinda likin’ that dry-soundin’ drop from tha Dogz & MU… Not too sure how much interest I’d have in this, spin-wise, but at least it’s a good remix. Also, anotha nice Dogz & MU drop that goes on for a while, b4 tha end… My Rating: 3.8

14. Timmy Trumpet, Prezioso & 71 Digits “Three Little Birds”
Label: Spinnin’
What could we have here…? I’m really anticipated for tha fast-paced music but I’ono about tha title… Gonna have to dive in & hear for my damn self… >>> Sounds like a bird recorded from a camera, in tha beginning… An okay-soundin’ male vocal, here… Wow @ tha odd-ass outcome!! Talk about what to really not expect till you’re high!! Like, Bob Marley-inspired vocal vibes & lyrics, mixed with tha fast music! Definitely unique, to tha fullest!! Though I may not think this’ll get out there in tha dance world, I know that it'll get its props wit me! Even ended with a bird, too! Can’t make this shit up!! My Rating: 4.8

15. Lewis Thompson x David Guetta “Take Me Back (Joel Corry Remix)”
Label: RCA
Anotha Guetta appearance, already…; anotha Corry appearance, too… >>> Sounds like a sequel to “What Would You Do?”, based off that vocal start & Joel Corry vibe… I’ll give tha drop props for its energy; I’ono how much luv I’ll be able to show this one… Sounds like it’s more on tha decent level, for a house track; can’t complain. My Rating: 3.6

16. Noizu & Secondcity “More Love”
Label: Three Six Zero/The Orchard
Got to hear this one, at one point; thought it was good/decent. As far as tha review & rehear… >>> Sounds like some cool keys in tha beginning. Reminds me of my favorite track out now, tha Jono Grant’s Summer Of ’95 Mix of “Screwdriver” by Above & Beyond. Just an addictin’ vibe & I feel like this can be a part of that circle? Cool lil’ housey chorus & drop from these two, on tha collab… Likin’ those strings around 1:06; nice addition to tha track…! My Rating: 4.1

17. Slushii “Feels Like”
Label: Dim Mak
Keepin’ it goin’ with more of tha house flava, here…? >>> Not too sure of tha male singin’ but it sounds like an okay song. Sounds like a strong-soundin’ build-up, on tha chorus… What…to…make…outta…this…? Sounds like a good lil’ drop, too; feelin’ that vocalizin’… A lil’ offset from what I thought it was gonna be. Prolly ‘cause only his name was on tha ID & I thought of his “All I Need” track from two years ago. Overall, cool lil’ Slush track… My Rating: 4.0

18. Luude x Mattafix “Big City Life”
Label: Warner
Endin’ with a nice, fast track! Awesome collab & hope Luude continues to shine on with his DNB/jungle-inspired productions! Definitely feelin’ tha lyrics, vocals & tha music throughout tha whole track! “Don’t let tha system get you down.” Also, anybody willin’ to misjudge or stereotype incorrectly! Gotta have room in “life” for tha “Big City Life”! Hope this one continues to get bigger, just like his “Down Under” track. Tha Diplo’s Revolution” exposure’s been nice but I hope Luude doesn’t fall under that one-hit wonder category… My Current Rating: 4.8

Overall: I have to say, after my awesome weekend, it seems like a revival to some good tymes. Only thing iz, it sux that tha summer iz ending. However, we on to bigger & betta thangz, as each day goes by. Can’t wait for these bigger-&-betta tymes to keep progressin’; I feel ‘em…!
