Review #2,030: Promo Only "Dance Radio November 2022"

Reviewed on 10.16.2022 (Review #2,030)

Continuin’ my life through my busy schedule, here… Got Promo Only Dance Radio November 2022 ta review, as we speak! Looks like a promising tracklist but on y’all website, you can no longer click tha artwork for a bigger-sized artwork, as well as view tha tracklist online. Anyway, I think I’ll be excited ta review this one… Not too much else ta say, except I’m gearin’ up ta be in anotha Louisiana movie, comin’ in two weeks! Not sure of its release date but I’m glad to be a part of tha movie & travel there, despite gettin’ double-slapped in tha face, previously. Start Tyme: 4:11 PM | End Tyme: 6:00 PM

Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type (frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

01. Kx5, deadmau5 & Kaskade feat. The Moth & The Flame “Alive”
Label: mau5trap
Kickin’ it off with just a mau5 on tha label, here; not an ARKADE, too, like on “Escape”… Also, talk about how tha IDs look different, now, in my generation. If this was tha generation I grew up in, decades ago, it woulda looked like deadmau5 & Kaskade Presents Kx5 as tha artist. Now, instead of presenting, we get ‘em all on an equal level, I see… With that bein’ said, not too sure what this gon sound like & how I’ll feel about it. Completely a new track fa me, so let’s see what’s good with it… >>> These male vocals are just okay for me; nothin’ too-too great that I’d fall in love with. As far as tha build-up on tha chorus, it sounds nice, in a way. Also, some nice, ear-surprised sounds comin’ through randomly, on tha drop… Tha rest of this just flows to be a decent-type of club song, overall. We’ll see if it makes noise like “Escape” did. I like this on its 1st listen better than “Escape”’s 1st listen but I’ono if this’ll be on “Escape”’s dance-world levels… My Rating: 3.8

02. Alok, Sigala & Ellie Goulding “All By Myself”
Label: RCA
Got to The Chainsmokers’ #Electro15 b4 I got to this review but both today. This was featured on there & for Ellie, it’s usually not somethin’ I fall-fall in love with but she’s had her share of some hits with me. As far as hearin’ this, I thought it was pretty dope. I like how Alok & Sigala decided to sample Depeche Mode with their “Enjoy The Silence”, in tha music intro… With this Ellie presentation, I definitely am feelin’ her “All By Myself”, grown-like perspective, kinda like how I be. Some may think it could cross as borderline-cheese but with tha two DJs behind her, it’s like its own Silk City—super-trio-group? As far as tha rest of this, tha excitement continues throughout tha track, which iz a plus for Ms. Goulding…! My Current Rating: 4.5

03. ACRAZE feat. Goodboys “Believe”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Oh boy, this one… Instantly turns in to a guilty pleasure with tha Fragma “Toca’s Miracle” chorus quote, in tha intro & chorus. Music may sound better for a dance sound vs. “Do It To It” but I’ono about tha “Toca’s Miracle” rip-off. I like how they take tha vocalizin’ Coco Star did, on tha original, but just in tha verse, tho. They coulda came up with their own lyrics but keep tha same vocalizin’ flow, on tha chorus…; that’s me, tho… My Current Rating: 3.7

04. M-22 & Ella Henderson “Heartstrings”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
As alwayz, glad Ms. Henderson continues to take interest in tha dance world! Got to exclusively hear this on tha POOL & with my most-recent trip to Iowa, Nebraska & South Dakota, workin’ on a music video with Louisiana’s Killa McClain! Gotta luv how Ella has those strong vocals, right from tha start! Also, feelin’ tha music M-22 bringin’, on a regular-likin’ tip. Oh & correction: Tha BPM 125, not 126; had to double-check & scan, since tha POOL one & tha one on this edition were two different #’s. Oh, my full-tyme luvs when I point out #’s like that, too! In tha end, I like how there’s a nice, long music ending with Ella vocalizin’; definitely what’s up! Alwayz a plus to have her in dance music & I hope this one gets out there, in a nice way! Aye, it’s Casablanca & Republic, so why not? My Current Rating: 4.4

05. LF System “Hungry (For Love)”
Label: Warner
Got a sample of this new one, too & it sounds like tha original version of their previous song, vs. an upbeat mix. Sounds like all tha disco sounds & vocals throw me off, as if I flipped a coin & continuously got tails! Great when tha 130 BPMs kick in but all those slow, all-disco’d-out parts are on tha ear-bleedin’ side fa me. My Current Rating: 2.8

06. BONNIE X CLYDE x FOMO “Need Ya”
Label: Seminal
How will their new collab sound, here? Not too sure what I’ll think… >>> Sounds like a sad song-like intro that I may be feelin’, off this quiet music start/interestin’ vocal start to tha chorus… As far as tha drop, it sounds okay; props for tha energy, I guess? Nice that BXC made a house track/collab like this, to switch up their styles… My Rating: 4.0

07. LODATO x Ally Ahern “Don’t Cry”
Label: Spinnin’
Alwayz a “Good Thing”, pun intended, to see Mr. DATO on tha dance map. Got to hear a snippet of this not that long ago but didn’t register it enough for a full-on full listen. Now that it’s here, let’s see it enter my lair…! >>> Sounds like a catchy vocal start for tha start; alwayz awesome ta hear new vocalists, courtesy of awesome DJs…! Sounds like an okay chorus; catchy on tha vocals but even catchier with tha vocalizin’ on tha drizzop…! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice ta hear, as well; great job with tha new vocals, once again… As far as tha rest of this, I like tha lil’ music breakdown & tha chorus just takin’ over with that drop! My Rating: 4.3

08. Ofenbach feat. FAST BOY “Love Me Now”
Label: Big Beat
Hope these two artists collaborated to make a nice track together… >>> Seems like a dance vibe in tha music but more on a pop level with tha vocals, here. I shoulda expected that with their “Bad Memories” collab, previously. Music kinda bleh… Ofenbach struck it 5.0 rich with Ella Henderson last year, on tha 2021 November edition. Now, it seems like that magic ain’t applied in their music fa 2022. Chorus a lil’ repetitive & not in a catchy way; there’s not too much that can save this track, for tha most part. My Rating: 3.1

09. VIVID & Nazzereene “Secrets”
Label: Enhanced
Looks like it has tha potential to be exciting, based off it bein’ from Enhanced & this new artist on tha collab? >>> Likin’ tha female-vocal start, here; music sounds like it’s gonna be an exciting slap-house track? Hearin’ tha chorus & it sounds like it’s buildin’ up betta than somethin’ boring? Also, tha drop; drop sounds nice & speakin’ of Enhanced, it makes me feel like Marcus Santoro & Isabelle Stern’s “It’s Not About You” track! Definitely a plus; definitely feelin’ this collab! Tha 2nd verse iz nice & tha music tease with tha drop’s sounds make me amped up to hear this one! My Rating: 4.5

½tyme: Seems like a good mix of good moments, even tho there’s moments that made tha average rating fall behind, atm. Currently, tha average rating falls short of a 4.0 with a 3.9, currently. Will there be enough strength in tha next 10 tracks to pull tha average rating up? Maybe…? Maybe not…? Maybe so…?

10. Mark Tuan “imysm (Niiko & SWAE Remix)”
Label: DNA
…no idea what to expect, except it bein’ a male. >>> Luv how these 130 BPM tracks come along & they have cheesy vibes in their vocals. I think tha “im[iss]y[ou]s[o]m[uch]” title sounds cheesy, especially for a lower-case acronym. However, I’m definitely feelin’ tha music & pace, here! Tha drop sounds like tha drop on Third Party’s “Everyday Of My Life”, from eight years ago! Even this iz faster on tha BPM, as that track was 128; crazy! Surprisingly, I think I can get past tha cheesy vocals & appreciate this for N&S’s musical pluses! Nice “Everyday Of My Life” piano solo, toward tha end! Like how it slows down, too! My Rating: 4.2

11. Nicky Romero x EDX “Out Of Control”
Label: Spinnin’
Not sure which route this collab gon go, in terms of dance music… >>> Sounds like a track with an uncredited male on tha vocals, here… Sounds like it can be a nice lil’ deep house track, with tha way tha music sounds… Chorus sounds okay but tha drop sounds a lil’ betta, basically. Likin’ that it starts off quiet, like a slap-house drop & then, slowly progresses itself through. Likin’ tha lil’ wavy/spacy vibe b4 tha 2nd drop, at 2:06; definitely nice! Overall, I think this a cool lil’ track; we’ll see how it does in tha world & if it has tha potential to grow on me. My Rating: 3.9

12. Fred again.. “Danielle (Smile On My Face)”
Label: Atlantic
Followin’ up his “Turn On The Lights again..”, already… Also, he’s back to tha two-part titles, which iz interesting. Now, how will this new track of his sound? >>> Tha music sounds okay, as it progresses with tha track. Tha vocals sometymes sound okay but then, sound a lil’ shitty with tha effects? Sounds like she’s distorted… I’ono, at this point, I’m excited for tha upcoming new music. It seems like we’re headin’ in tha right direction, eva since tha summer of my double-slap incident ended. Like, I wanna be quiet about expressin’ my excitement but I honestly think we’re in tha golden tymes of this decade! Slowly but surely! Even tho some shitty parts on this song, I do think it sounds above-average, overall. Give it up for tha genius, Mr. Fred again..! My Rating: 4.1

13. Semitoo & Marc Korn “Easy To Love”
Label: Robbins
OH, SHIT!! Just as I wanted to be quiet about expressin’ my excitement for tha music gettin’ better, here comes a 136 BPM, Robbins track!! I think I gon just sit quiet, let tha track play & see what this be ‘bout…! >>> Whoa @ tha female start & her “swiping left, right”; definitely an interestin’ start…! Definitely feelin’ tha music; reminds me of tha Dharma/Spinnin’ releases from years ago. Definitely likin’ tha fastness, includin’ tha drop after tha chorus! Definitely awesome with these female vocals & this whole speed-house feel! My Rating: 4.9

14. Alan Walker & Trevor Daniel “Extremes”
Label: RCA
I’ono… Not too sure if this collab gon work out for my anticipation? We’ll have to see if awesome magic iz applied! >>> I think Trevor’s on tha cheesy vibe with tha vocals, here… Also, not really sure how to call it with this AW music. Sounds like it got really deep & low with tha bass, on tha chorus. Then, tha slow-dancey drop; ehh, not really up there fa me… My Rating: 2.5

15. Mau P “Drugs From Amsterdam”
Label: Casablanca/Republic
Lol @ tha no content warning… Here come tha “drugs”! This one been buzzin’ on Diplo’s Revolution & now, this lil’ “Drug” wants to really break out there, in tha world! Luv all tha music & upbeat vibes, here! Really luv that trippy, drug-type of feel at 1:33 with those sounds! Surprised how this one grew on me, throughout its exposure. Even separated it from my playlist ‘cause I thought I was a lil’ late on addin’ it. Now, it seems like it has enough of a push to push itself in to my playlist. Wonder what kinda doors a track like this gon open up, fa tha years ta come? Lol… My Current Rating: 4.5

16. Clean Bandit & French The Kid feat. Rema “Sad Girls”
Label: Atlantic
I mighta gotten a sample of this, not that long ago… I had originally thought it was too slow? We’ll see when I rehear it for a full listen on this review. >>> Hearin’ tha beginning & yeah, slow music & yucky-soundin’ male vocals. “LSD’s in [his] flow & knees,” he said? Uh, I’on think his vibe on an “LSD” level; seems like such a downer, instead! Cool sounds from CB but not feelin’ this vibe. Lol, I like tha shout-out to “Aluna,” on tha 2nd verse. Crazy that she’s been relevant fa almost a decade, know (tha AlunaGeorge dayz). As far as tha rest of this, I’m not big about tha “sad”-type of title & this entire vibe don’t really make it, imo. My Rating: 2.9

17. Kue feat. Britt Daley “I Want You (Dark Intensity Radio Edit)”
Label: Kuepoint/DistroKid
Looks like somethin’ I’d anticipate; hope it’s a big effort, here! >>> Wasn’t sure what to expect with tha beginning but wow @ tha fast vocals of B-Daley! Didn’t recognize what it was gonna be, at first, but I caught on to tha chorus as remakin’ Savage Garden, from tha ‘90s. Sounds like an okay/good lil’ track—more like a bonus—for 2022, here. Lots of “Cherry-Cherry-Cola” goin’ on, randomly. Guess that’s a hidden plus? Didn’t realize that was tha vocal-chop in tha beginning & on tha drop, too. Likin’ tha 2nd verse with that fastness, again; props for this remake. I’ono if it’ll get out there in tha dance world, with wherever today’s minds are at, but it’ll get some spins with me in December, if it don’t get added by anyone. My Rating: 3.8

18. David Guetta vs. Benny Benassi “Satisfaction”
Label: Ultra
Ah, anotha remake! Well, this one’s just like a bonus, too. Like, was Guetta so bored that he needed more money & wanted to co-sign “Satisfaction” with BB, here? Likin’ tha way it sounds new with tha new sounds fa 2022, so I won’t hate-hate on this that much. I’ll just throw it right in tha middle of an average rating, basically. My Rating: 3.5

19. Kx5, deadmau5 & Kaskade “Take Me High”
Label: mau5trap/ARKADE/AWAL
Luv how they started off this edition & are endin’ it, too! Also, it’s a radio edit, here, so that’s cool to have vs. tha extended original version. Luv all tha energy tha mau5 & tha KADE put together in tha track, here. It’s like, who can’t deny tha energy? Outta “Escape”, “Alive” & this, this one sounds tha best. Diggin’ tha energy in tha beats & how this continues. Basically, it’s all about tha “high” of tha highs! Nothin’ but beats & some high-energy vocals! My Current Rating: 4.3

Overall: I thought this edition gave me extra hope for tha near-end of this year… Definitely nice hearin’ tha new bangaz, includin’ a few surprises!
