Review #2,049: Promo Only "Dance Radio March 2024"

Reviewed on 2.04.2024 (Review #2,049)

I have a night off my full-tyme since almost tha last Promo Only review! Reviewed tha previous edition on January 12th & my previous night off was on January 14th! Now, let’s get it with Promo Only & Dance Radio March 2024! Can’t wait fa anotha edition, as this dance world keeps tha energy pumpin’!! Start Tyme: 12:48 PM | End Tyme: 2:42 PM

Disclaimer: I type how I wanna type (frequent use of “tha” instead of “the,” “iz” instead of “is,” “a”-ending words instead of “er,” and a few others). I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it, I like it how I wanna like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. Sometymes, I may not rate a song too high on its first listen, but in tha future, I could be playin’ it more than a higher-rated song…

01. Morgin Madison & Ryan Lucian x Jas. “Tell Me Who You Are”
Label: Enhanced
Loved how MM & RL collab’d on their previous collab. Now, they’re back with this one & I didn’t catch on to it, like I did with “From The Start”. Let’s see how it’ll do in this review, when I give it my full attention… >>> Sounds like a decent effort with tha female, here… I think I feel a lil’ better about rehearin’ this one… I’m not gonna deny this collab; I like hearin’ tha uplifting music vibes + tha chorus! Good goin’, Jas.! With that bein’ said, I hope this one gets good props & exposure like how “From The Start” got! My Rating: 4.4

02. Disco Lines, Ship Wrek & Daya “Peace Of Mind”
Label: Good Good
Looks like it can be a great gamble of a collab, here? Usually, with these three artists, I’ve been selective with their recent tracks. However, I think with tha pace, here, this’ll be a dope trio! >>> Sounds more like a good song for feelin’ high than your average faster track of feelin’ good… I’m definitely feelin’ how they bring a faster vibe outta a chill-type dance track! Interestin’ collab, between tha three; likin’ how Daya can create a good zone-out! My Rating: 4.5

03. Daniel Allan with Lyrah “I Just Need”
Label: Family Affair
Looks like a too-good-to-be-true feeling, here, courtesy of tha newer artists, labels & faster tempos! Definitely somethin’ I’ve missed, since my high school dayz!! Definitely nice to see this, especially on BPM, too! Neva gave it a full listen till now, so here goes my anticipated listen…! >>> Likin’ tha slow-type of beginning but a faster catch-up, later on!! Definitely nice, with all tha energy, here! Sounds like anotha shy-type of fast track, where tha energy’s fast but vocalist iz more chill, on tha vocals… Definitely tha interesting/dope way to celebrate 2024’s upbringings! My Rating: 4.4

04. Becky Hill & Sonny Fodera “Never Be Alone”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Anotha one of tha newer tracks gettin’ out there, just like “Tell Me Who You Are” & “I Just Need”…! Definitely likin’ their collab, here; brings tha better out of them. Sounds like a really strong vocal chorus, courtesy of Becky… Definitely feelin’ tha excitement, to tha fullest! Basically, it’s a surrounding of tha chorus striking, in its strongest wayz… We’ll see how much luck this one has, as tha year progresses… I’ll give it its energetic props, courtesy of tha drop… My Current Rating: 4.3

05. Pet Shop Boys “Loneliness”
Label: Warner
From tha ‘80s to today, they still make appearances with tha highest longevity! That’s how I see myself, later in life, though not as widely respected by many! >>> Feel like I’m ready for a surprise, based off tha first 30 seconds of a music intro, here…? Hearin’ tha vocals come in and, I have to admit, feelin’ high iz realizing PSB can make a Dance Radio appearance four decades after their 1st big track! That’s how I want my longevity to be like! With that bein’ said, this sounds interesting but I’ono which type of people gon appreciate this, in tha dance world… Like, do I see this gettin’ buku spins on BPM? I’ono… Like, I think people gon be selective. Then again, their lack of selectiveness = more potential success for me. Good lil’ upbeat way to celebrate “Loneliness”; I feel tha same way, today! My Rating: 4.0

06. The Blessed Madonna feat. Clementine Douglas “Happier”
Label: Major/Warner
Hope this iz a good collab; definitely like tha two of these artists, in my own wayz…! >>> Sounds like a decent lil’ dance track; definitely appreciate their contributions to this year! Just a lil’ deep-housey vibe, courtesy of how C-Doug feels “Happier,” on tha track. Nothin’ much else to say, except a props from me… My Rating: 4.0

07. Alok & Bebe Rexha “Deep In Your Love”
Label: RCA
S/O to Alok for makin’ an ironic but awesome top spot on my Top 535 Songs of 2023 with “Jungle”! By “ironic,” I mean that my current slogan to describe how I’m feelin’ iz “100.00%.” “Jungle” topped my 24th annual year-end countdown, with only “100.00” dayz in rotation, tha shortest to eva top! Of course, even with my recap I did of my latest year-end countdown, of course, I got “100.00%” artist/titles correct, with my eyez closed, five seconds each track, back-to-back! With that bein’ said, I’m definitely on an excited level ta hear what Alok has with Ms. Rexha, here…! >>> Definitely feelin’ how he comin’ through with tha music, here! Anotha euphoric anthem, especially with Bebe’s contributions, too! Definitely an awesome chorus, as well as how Bebe lays tha verses down! Gotta feel her anticipatin’ tha warmer, nicer dayz! My Rating: 4.6

08. Cheat Codes feat. Birdy “Head Up”
Label: Cheat Codes/People Want To Dance
Awesome to hear Birdy back, after seven years ago with her “Find Me” collab, from tha March 2017 PO w/Sigma. Not to mention tha irony, too, that I believe, if I cross my fingers, that this month, Baton Rouge will release their Diamonds In The Dirt 2: The Birth Of Jigga City documentary film. When it was March 2017—tha 27th, to be exact, I was interviewed for tha movie, when I made my debut trip to Louisiana. Now, with Birdy’s 2nd collab, it’s ironic it’s now, seven years later w/tha film appearance about my contributions! Definitely excited to hear their collab, here…! >>> Seems like a slower type of start, as far as me appreciatin’ tha vibe… As far as this collab, it ain’t bad; I dig tha chorus. I’m startin’ to feel betta about hearin’ tha drop, too… Even got Trevor from CC on tha 2nd verse, here… Definitely a nice lil’ surprise to add to tha collab… We’ll see how much tha dance world gon appreciate this one… I think it deserves its share of new success, between CC & Birdy…! My Rating: 4.1

09. Ofenbach feat. Norma Jean Martine “Overdrive (VIP Mix)”
Label: Major/Warner
An awesome-soundin’ original version; hope this VIP Mix gives it a proper boost…! >>> A nice lil’ preparation intro, then tha chorus… Likin’ tha anthemic chorus, with tha music, here… Likin’ tha lil’ VIP drop, too; dope energy…! Likin’ this lil’ contribution to tha original version! Just gotta feel all euphoric, to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.3

10. AYYBO “RIZZ”
Label: GDB
Wonder what this’ll be like, after his hypnotizin’ “Hypnosis”ness… >>> Sounds like one of those special types of beginnings, courtesy of tha horns, here! Nice lil’ vocal in a feel-good zone, on tha chorus… I give this track its props, on anotha “Hypnosis”-type of level… My Rating: 4.2

11. Gorgon City & BbyAfricka “Biggest Regret”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Looks like it’ll be an interesting one, here… Lookin’ forward to hearin’ what their “Biggest Regret” iz…! >>> Sounds like it’ll be more on a catchy level than a feel-good level… Yeah, that “love” for a person—even when you only show “love”—can turn in to a “Biggest Regret” to face! Likin’ how tha drop follows, soundin’ like a nice lil’ set of slimy sounds, lol? My Rating: 3.8

½tyme: Sounds like an edition exciting for tha exciting future, comin’ soon! A 4.2-rated edition, so far…! How will this continue? I’ll have to come back, after I’m done eatin’ somethin’… *Goes to eat at 1:44 PM…*

12. Frank Walker feat. Nate Smith “Missing You”
Label: Palm Tree
A FW appearance… Let’s see how this one gon go… >>> Don’t think I’m gonna like this country-like vocal, as well as tha track… Tha chorus tries to be a lil’ euphoric, tho I can’t get past tha country-like vocals… Nice try on tha drop; definitely some Avicii tymes, too…! Not too sure how this one’ll do, in tha world, as well as with me… I feel like it has an attempt, at least, in both worlds. My Rating: 3.5

13. Galantis x Hannah Boleyn “Little Bit Yours”
Label: Big Beat
Hope it’s a good collab, even tho it seems a lil’ slow? >>> Sounds like an okay track, between tha two of them… A lil’ bit of a party anthem on tha drop, at least… I think tha world gon gravitate toward Hannah, with all her current contributions. Not much else to say about this one; good goin’, y’all… My Rating: 3.7

14. Steve Angello “Me”
Label: Astralwerks/Capitol
Saw this one out there but don’t remember if I gave it a listen or not… >>> Yeah, it sounds a lil’ familiar… Like tha lil’ house vibe & how tha vocal sample sounds like a nice panic, lol… An addictive house vibe, to tha fullest! Talk about an inescapable chorus! My Rating: 4.1

15. RSCL x Repiet & Julia Kleijn “Echo (Tech Mix)”
Label: Revealed
It’s baaaack! Lol… Just an updated Tech Mix, here… >>> Started to like tha original more, as it got out in tha world, a lil’… Now, I hope this version keeps this track alive. All three artists on tha track deserve to keep it goin’! My Rating: 4.4

16. Tate McRae “exes (Regard Remix Radio Edit)”
Label: RCA
Excited ta see how these two collab again, after their massive, pre-victim-of-violence tymes of mine (with “You”)! >>> Luv her toughness, as far as her lyrics come out… Sounds like a good lil’ upbeat way of followin’ up from “You”… Likin’ all tha Regardness on tha chorus! Reminds me of Tate’s previous release, “greedy”, with Alok on tha remix! Now, it’s tyme for them greedy “exes”! My Rating: 4.2

17. Paul Russell “Lil’ Boo Thang (Galantis Remix)”
Label: Arista
Not anticipatin’ this one… >>> Luv how tha track tries to bring tha excitement out, in tha intro, followed by tha pathetic vibe of tha rappin’ & slower vibes! Nothin’ much else to say about this pathetic chorus & track… My Rating: 1.1

18. Dua Lipa “Houdini (Adam Port Remix)”
Label: Warner
I hope, in this Lipa-appearin’ case, that this iz a good lil’ remix to contribute to this edition…! >>> Likin’ tha lil’ merengue-like vibe, in tha beginning… As it progresses, it just seems a lil’ basic, with tha way this sounds… Tha chorus okay but picks up once it ends… I like how she vocalizes, durin’ some of tha drop parts…! Sounds like it’s a grower, for a slow one… We’ll see how this progresses, in tha future… My Rating: 4.1

19. Kygo & Ava Max “Whatever”
Label: Kygo/RCA
Got to hear this, not that long ago… Didn’t get to add it, right away, but it’s now here, so… >>> Sounds like a lil’ throwback-type of Kygo vibe, here & I have to admit: I like how Ava redoes Shakira, on tha chorus! Awesome lil’ drop, includin’ this whole entire vibe! Definitely nice, on a slower level! My Rating: 4.5

20. NERO “Blame You”
Label: 2808
Their only Dance Radio appearance of December 2011 & now, their 2nd! How ‘bout that, Birdy?! Lol, almost doubletyme! Anywayz, I’m unsure what this one’ll be like, fa 2024… >>> Sounds like tha track slowly gets more & more intense!! Oh boy, what a build-up!! I’m tryna think of what that build-up sound iz!! Sounds like some track I loved back in tha day…! Likin’ how tha beats slow down, on tha drop! Definitely nice! Could it remind me of Operatica feat. Maureen O’Flynn “Melancholy Rose (Richie Santana’s Anthem Mix)”, durin’ tha Opera Trance tymes of 2000/2001? If so, definitely an awesome tease to my earz & brain! Gotta luv it, in its own wayz! S/O Alana Watson & NERO! My Rating: 4.2

21. Marshmello x venbee “No Man’s Land”
Label: Joytime Collective/RCA
Likin’ how Venbee continues to branch out & this a good way to keep tha inspiration of my trips goin’. Likin’ tha faster vibes of Mr. Mello, too… Hoping tha best for Venbee & how things go, in tha future. This a nice lil’ contribution, energy & mind-wise! My Current Rating: 4.2

22. Timmy Trumpet “Best Thing”
Label: SINPHONY/Spinnin’
Endin’ it wit a big bang?! Can’t imagine what Timmy gon sound like, based off of only 82 BPM…! >>> A feeling of double tha pace? Almost reminded me of Gammer “The Drop”, based off tha first few seconds…! Likin’ this lil’ vocal & tha strong energy I’m about to witness! Sounds like a nice lil’ vibe; sounds like a good lil’ bonus track… Cool lil’ verse & tha chorus with tha “Best Thing” sounds awesome to appreciate, vibe-wise! My Rating: 4.0

Overall: Sounded like an awesome edition, overall… Seems like we’re in a good place, in tha dance world. I know it’s tha main world for me, these dayz… With that bein’ said, I look forward to seein’ tha epic anthems 2024 gon continue to bring!!
